He's looking big, lean, and fast right now. It's all in shorts, but I'm optimistic (as I typically am).

I think I was just more upset with the pick because there were OL who slipped, LBs, and Harrison Smith who all could've started immediately.

Add Rex Grossman and Cedric Benson to the list. We're not limited to QB and RB busts either - David Terrell, Chris Williams, Gabe Carimi and Michael Haynes all stunk.

Sexy Rexy took us to the Super Bowl (LOL, not really)! Cutler, meh.

You can say that about a lot of these picks though. Everyone was high on Couch...Curtis Enis...Cedric Benson...Mandarich...Ryan Leaf...

Heck, there were a few (not many, but some) that thought Leaf was the better pick because of his upside.

Hindsight, and such...

True enough, but I think that Mandarich was considered an absolute can't miss prospect much moreso than any of the others you mentioned. Still, point taken.

I admit I was never a fan of the pick. I didn't see him as being anything other than a third down specialist in a 4-3. Maybe he's fast enough to play LB. At the time I wanted Chandler Jones or DeCastro. Of course, I was mostly hoping for Coples to slip to Chicago so what do I know?

I don't give the FO much fault for Kapler. He had that major knee injury almost at the very beginning of his pro career. A Wisco fan I know said that Kapler didn't look like the same player from his college days. A much bigger mistake, IMO, was the bizarre optimism surrounding Jamarcus Webb.

They got the Falcon's 1st round pick (27th overall), plus a second, fourth, and following year's 1st and 4th round picks. On a team with so many holes that's hard to pass up on, even for someone like Jones. Just look how nicely the RG3 trade has worked for St Louis. Then again I've always been a fan of stockpiling draft picks.

I think your post is 100% correct IF there was any chance the Browns could draft effectively. Weeden and Richardson are exhibits 1A and 1B as to how they bungle draft picks. JFF would be exhibit B.......

I think they are on exhibit 'Z version 14.0' at this point.

The title of this thread should be "Recount when your team drafted like The Browns"

ha....what can you say except, at least, they aren't as bad as the Raiders.

The Matt Millen era in Detroit. Also when the Vikings fail to make picks on time.

The Steelers in '08 took Mendenhall in the 1st round. I wanted to see them get Chris Johnson and he went with the very next pick.

With the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select Tyson Alualu.

Every Colts draft pick from 1990 to 1994.

Steve Emtman was awesome. I hate to see him called a bust because of injuries but I suppose he would be. And Jeff George didn't live up to the hype but a bust? He had a decent career but not with the Colts. Check this out, Detroit Lions first rd from 2002 to 2006.

2002- Joey Harrington
2003- Charles Rogers
2004- Roy Williams and Kevin Jones
2005- Mike Williams
2006- Ernie Sims

Now that's a pile of garbage.
