I guess they didn't realize it would be over a 100 years and counting before winning another one.

Another sullied banner to add to the 2 steroids bought.

No need to throw stones.

EDIT: Why do a good amount of Yankees fans come from RI? Went to college in RI, thought it was kind of ridiculous the amount of Yankees fans. I'm sure there's a reason, but never really understood. Serious question, no bull****.

I am from New Jersey, and am moving back to New York in Sept. Simply a pit stop in RI.

I refuse to believe this. No Chicago team in the late 1910's cheated during the World Series. Ever.

Seriously steroids are why they came back from 3 games down?
Especially since the Yanks had Arod, Giambi, Clemens, Pettite, and Sheffield.
That's almost as bad as the fans who claimed 1918 ignoring the fact that something like 7 of the Yankees first world series starters plus the manager came from the Red Sox and that the Sox paid the Yankees 200,000 to take Ruth off our hands.

I'm baffled that anyone could care about this. If it happened, it was 90 years ago. And let's just say it did happen - what is a team supposed to do about the other team "throwing" a game or a series? Also, the implication that any team accomplishment in the last 20 or so years is diminished because of PEDs is nonsense. Otherwise, throw out every NFL, MLB and NBA title won since the eighties. All of them had PED users on them, and they all beat other teams with PED users. It is just part of the culture of sport now.

Also, I'm the opposite of Ironman. I grew up in RI and now live in New York. There are definitely a few Yankee fans in RI. Maybe 1 in 20. It was probably closer to 1 in 10 about a decade ago. I also think you'll find that most Yankee fans in RI tend to be Italian-American (not all Italians are Yankee fans, though, obviously) because their grandfathers were big DiMaggio fans.

Pavlovian reflex to any Yankee fan since I've met very few decent ones when the Sox are involved.
Respected the hell out of George though he's a guy who's going to be missed in baseball.

In college I lived in a house with 10 Red Sox fans and 1 other Yankee fan. Trust me, I get it.

It's Providence.

Justice for Massachusetts intolerance to Roger Williams.

It's why Ted never got a WS ring but Bernie did.

NEVER underestimate Cub fans ability to generate excuses, even a century later....(haha sorry Killz)

*I thought RI was mostly Red Sox fans, or has "Family Guy" been lying to me all these years?

It is definitely mostly Sox fans. Like I said, you get a few guidos from Johnston and Cranston that like the Yankees - probably more than you'd expect - but it is at least 20-1. I think 10 years ago, when the Yankees were dominant and the Sox were like the Cubs it may have been more like 10-1, but since then the Sox have won and WEEI, Boston's sports-radio channel, got a RI signal. There are much less Yankee fans now.
