Hard disagree for a teenager who is into rollercoasters. It's a fun daypark but you go to Dollywood for the mountains and to see glassblowers and kettlecorn being made. Its not a "thrilling" park.
There's a few good coasters like Lightning Rod and that mine car one but I agree. Alot of kid friendly coasters.

For a coaster enthusiast, Dollywood is probably not it.

If she was a cinnamon bread enthusiast...Dollywood would be her Graceland.

My 14 year old daughter is a roller coaster addict.

Question for the Ohio guys: is Cedar Point worth driving from Chicago for a few days?

*edit- we have Six Flags Great America right here.
Yes, Cedar Point and Magic Mountain (CA) are the Roller Coaster capitals of the US. I worked at CP way back in the summer of '89...can't believe it's been that long already.

Go to Cedar Point, then keep going to Hershey PA.
Underrated.

The prime quick getaway trip for a 14 year old girl who likes roller coasters is probably the Twin Cities.

Mall of America and Valley Fair.

Eh. I’ll be there too and the thought of spending all day in a mall isn’t appealing.
Thanks for the suggestion though!

Yes.

Grew up going there twice a year each year all through Jr High and High school. If you plan extra time, hop on the ferry to Put-In-Bay Island. Great hangout spot.

My wife, her best friend, and their respective sisters did a girls 40th birthday trip to Disney last month. They day-tripped to Universal and got picked for early entry into Epic Universe.

Also, something we learned is that Disney offers pretty solid discounts if you book your next trip within 7 days (I think) of returning. So we did, and now we're going back in September as a family. Praying for no hurricanes. This will be the first time I've been during a "non-peak" time. Looking forward to it. Only three park days though so we're contemplating MK, Epcot, and....? HS/AK have pros and cons. Most likely it'll be HS though as we all love the Star Wars experience.

I like Disney parks as much as the next person but there are other destinations outside of Disney to visit. It's weird to me when people only go to Disney parks on vacations

I had lots of beer and got knocked out of auditions at American Idol at Hollywood Studios in Disney in 2008. They did not like my rendition of Wonderful World by Louie Armstrong sang like Louie Armstrong.
I thought I saw you on there performing “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin…?

Did you meet Rogan
Lol i wish... completely different show ... you had to audition at 1130am for a 5pm show. Me and my buddy made it all the way through and we're hammered the entire time. I won 4 tickets that never expire. I sold 3 for a good buck and I supposedly have 1 at will call waiting in perpetuity. I'm skeptical but I already got my monies worth.
