dafuq?

So let me get this straight, some dude runs with a crowd that allegedly beats someone in a Wal-Mart, thinks it's a good idea to basically profit and or blackmail a person from said crowd? Either Dez really pissed someone off or some dude is going to wind up dead in the hills of El Paso.

Im not a lawyer but hypothetically if this video comes out and it supposedly occurred in 2011 does the NFL have a statue of limitations of how far back they can go back with suspensions under the Personal Conduct Policy?

Supposedly, much worse than Ray Rice. And it's going to be released soon. But there's mystery surrounding it and for all we know there's a last minute cover-up underway. Basically, the premise being put out there is that the party in possession of the tape is selling it to the highest bidder. So Dez's camp could easily pay for possession and destroy it.

Is There an Incriminating Dez Bryant Video or Not? | NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Dez Bryant's horrific 'Ray Rice-style' video set to be released today, career in jeopardy [Report] | Seattle

Heard about this yesterday. Jake Query of Query and Schultz called a friend who covers the Cowboys for the FW paper. According to the reporter, this rumor has been going around for a long time and questions the validity of the rumor. He's not been able to come up with anything to substantiate the rumor, but did say that doesn't mean there isn't one.

For those that missed this:

And then Bryant out-and-out basically acknowledged the incident last night saying:

Quote:
Just quit with the b.s. …It’s clear as day what's going on… I might need to do a exclusive interview about my life these past 5 years since the world is destined to know… I use to let people take advantage of my life now that I’m no longer allowing that to happen it seems to be a problem… I’m not ashamed of none of my past incidents because that’s what made me who I am

Those quotes are from the article I linked above.

I'm confused by that comment. Is he more less trying to say that he's not ashamed of having been allegedly involved in an assault on another person and somehow rationalizing into a sort of positive?

Probably. But the Cowboys would have a moral obligation to sever ties with him. No one else would pick him up either, unless you are the Raiders. Especially with the NFLs anti violence campaign.

It's easy to take the high road when it comes to not picking up Ray Rice. Solid player, but an aging one at an easily replaceable position....and a guy who was horribly bad in 2013. Dez is a Top-3 WR entering his prime. Someone will pick him up, and will probably happily do so at a discounted price.

Time heals all with athletes. Not to compare crimes/egregious acts, but: Vick came back. Riley Cooper instantly came back. Donte Stallworth came back. Big Ben came back. Ray Lewis came back. No one talks about Terrell Suggs. Kenny Britt has had 9 "involvements" with the law since he came in the league and he isn't even good. I'm sure there are many more good examples that are slipping my mind. Dez is just too good and teams care too much about winning for all 32 teams to take the high road. I don't see him missing any time beyond what the NFL gives as a punishment.

*obviously this is all assuming that the alleged video will be released

Someone teach this boy grammar. Dude tried to say he wasn't ashamed, but said he was ashamed. I weep for Dshans.

Dude allegedly beats someone at a Walmart and his grammar is what you take exception to? lol

Of course they will..................

whores

No kidding. Deadspin is the TMZ of the sports world. They make their living off of other's misfortune. Horrid people.

On Dez, why does this matter if it happened many years ago? I mean, what could be worse than Rice if it was so long ago? Hell, he hit his own mom and the world got over it. I can't imagine that some grainy security video of Dez throwing blows in a Walmart will bring that much public outcry.

So there is video of a supposed brutal assault on camera and they recognized a celebrity in it, but there was never anything legal done about it? I'm calling BS.

Supposedly, Dez has switched agencies. His previous was paying off the people responsible for releasing the video.

You're right, there's always someone willing to take a risk.

It's the video aspect, I think. People knew about Ray Rice knocking a woman unconscious but there was no real outcry until video came available. I guess seeing events described in text doesn't give the situation the same level of reality.

If Dez's video is worse than Ray Rice's, I don't want to see it.

For reference, Ray Rice was 0.8333 247 Composite :s::s::s:, while Dez Bryant was a 0.9776 composite :s::s::s::s: coming out of High School.

NFL Combine said:
Bryant is an extremely talented receiver that has legitimate downfield speed as well as the ability to adjust to off-target throws. He missed the final 10 games of 2009 for lying to an NCAA investigator and his ability to control and handle the off-field issues that could come up have to be in question. He is extremely competitive to the ball when he is the target but sometimes shows a lackadaisical attitude when on the back side of plays or when asked to block. He needs to be more precise on his route running and not round off his breaks on the hard cuts. He could easily be the first receiver taken off the board if he can impress the personnel people in interviews.

Homeboy always did have mad potential.

Can't lie, if Indy picked up Adrian and Dez someway somehow to join Luck wouldn't upset me one bit.

Defense would still suck though.

haha my first thoughts with the Dez video were:

1) That's crazy, he's a bum if it's true...
2) I wonder if the Pats could get him for real cheap now...

The problem is the NFLs current stance against violence against women. Vick killed dogs, Riley Cooper called someone a racial slur, Donte Stallworth hit someone will intoxicated by all accounts (including the family of the deceased) any one of us would have hit the guy because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ray Lewis well there was no proof of his crime (had their been footage I am sure it would have surfaced and I can't comment on the other 2.

If this video comes out and its worse than Ray Rice I am sure no one will touch him with a 10ft poll.
