Poll question: Will the Lions win a game this year?
I'm going with no. First time in NFL history.
The Lions could make strides toward respectability by drafting the best left tackle with their first round pick and trading their second (from the Cowboys) and perhaps a third to New England for Matt Cassel, who is a better option than either of the two top-rated quarterbacks available in the draft in that he has actually been successful in the NFL. Further, Cassel would be a cheaper option, financially, than what they would have to pay a "slotted" high draft choice. The Patriots would gladly take the Lions lower first round pick, as they prefer "valued" picks and have done well picking lower in the lower end of the round. Further, it would prevent a divisional foe (Minnesota) from getting what could be the missing piece in their 2009 playoff hopes.
I def think they are better than the Vikings thoughDetroit doesn't make playoffs anytime soon. No matter how impressively they have improved, it is hard to say they are better than:
Green Bay, Atlanta, Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia, New York, Dallas, Tampa Bay, and even Minnesota......
They will finish above CHI and MIN in the division this year.
I def think they are better than the Vikings though
