Are Marketplace and ABC News getting their info from the same database as Elon? I don't know how it was developed, but most web sites don't include all of the information from their systems database or they build a separate DB and push select data to the site for the public.

Context has been missing from the start - just b/c you are "alive" in the SS database doesn't mean you are receiving SS payments. Yes they have implied that from the start which is grossly misleading. I thought I saw some follow up data on dollars going out to some of these ridiculous age brackets - it was more than $0 but WAY less than the $1T per year implied by 40 million extra geezers in the database.

What we want to know is 1) how many dead/fake people are receiving payments and 2) how much of SS payments are sent overseas.

The real fraud is in SSDI and Medicare, IMO. Don't like how they claim two decades of fraud in Medicare to get $2 trillion - sounds so much worse than $100 billion per year. Same with claiming savings multiplying some contracts full term of say 10 years to look like they are making a bigger dent on the budget. People are lazy and easily fooled with math.

Clearly a government "official" with millions of followers doesn't need to publicly shame someone for losing their job. And then wonder why her account is now protected, she probably received threats.

Fair enough, I was trying to do a text search for defiant going back to February 18th and didn't get a hit.
Why the panties in a bunch though? She chose to make the Tweets, he reposted with really no comment. Defiant L is only reposting what the lady wrote, no real comment or criticism. It's essentially just highlighting her tweets. The woman is using an alias, she didn't use her real name. Seems like a big nothingburger to clutch pearls over. I'm sure she'll find another desk job and will be equally mediocre there.

I saw that Patel put out to the FBI not to respond to the OPM email. I think it is an overstep of OPM onto other agencies’ ability to manage their workforce. I like the idea in theory, but I think it should be tailored by agency up to the discretion of that secretary to figure out how to implement their solution.

I imagine the “employee bloat” is pretty significant and it can be pared, but I agree, this directive should have went to the heads of the agencies. I’m guessing DOGE will get the responses and send to the agency heads for action.
