I imagine the “employee bloat” is pretty significant and it can be pared, but I agree, this directive should have went to the heads of the agencies. I’m guessing DOGE will get the responses and send to the agency heads for action.

That was my first thought too. Feels an awful lot like Office Space. If you've spent any time in an office environment, there are definitely a few employees that should be asked this because they don't do shit all day lol. The federal government surely has their own examples.

It seems like the questions should be asked, but agencies within the federal government are voicing the fact that it needs to be coordinated with them.

It would be nice if Elon wasn’t so fucking annoying and I could be more supportive in his efforts. He’s obviously overconfident in things he actually doesn’t know too much about. Undermines a lot of the good work he could do with DOGE. Give it to someone more focused and tell him he’s the space Tsar or something and make him focus on a manned mission to mars in the next decade or some shit like that. I’m fine with keeping his team of autists on board like Big Balls though just with actual adult supervision

Yes and my original comment was that they aren’t showing all of the data collected. Show me where they name the databases and show the tables the data was extracted from. That’s the only way to know they are publishing all of the data on their site. I doubt they are.

Low hanging fruit should aways be the first cut. The cuts will sadlessly progressively become more difficult. The counties in the DC metro are going to get hit. That's life. That population is upset. None of them matter politically. Virginia is hypothetically competitive but not really. Any loss in Virginia is probably offset by people in other states enthused to see objectively stupid plans cut.

USAID has so much bad spending in it. People don't care about LBGT dance festivals in Serbia or whatever stuff they dug up.

From watching the news, checking twitter, right now...all the right people are mad. As the cuts go up the priority of cuts, it will get a bit more difficult. But the cuts must happen.
