Yeah, it's a bit of a bummer. I opened this thread all excited hoping to find news about how he was mentally distraught after the loss or how mich fans had turned on him or a quote from him about how good our defense is or what a monster tuitt is ... or something along those lines. It's been awhile since ND football has been this good; think it will take a little while for nd fans to adjust to it!

What upper hand?! What upper hand does Denard Robinson have? Michigan's entire 2011 season was a fluke, largely exposed by Alabama, yes I understand they are national champs...that's not the point. IF michigan were such a dynasty to win the Sugar Bowl and be number 8, it is not ridiculous to think they would have given Alabama a little bit of competition, instead they came out like lambs to slaughter. The last 2 games Denard Robinson has on ND he hardly kicked our a$$, which is why I ask you, do you watch the same games I do? Michigan does not scare me, they never "dominated" us last year, we dominated them, until we gave up. All I am saying is I am so sick and tired of this subject. Michigan is not Alabama, they are not LSU, they are not USC...you wanna be scared, be scared about something worth being scared about. Notre Dame needs to play this game the way they know how to, and the way they were meant to and you will see that Michigan stands no chance. And yes, Denard Robinson sucks, sucks, sucks....can he run fast? Yep. Can he on occassion connect a pass that will make you say WTF? Sure can, but he has, no consistency.

2011 Michigan 11-2 not really a fluke
2010 Robinson stats - vs ND C/ATT 24/40 YDS 244 TD 1 INT 0
Rushed CARRIES 28 YDS 258 AVG 9.2 TD 2

2011 Robinson Stats - VS ND CP/AT 11/24 YDS 338 TD 4 INT 3
Rushed CARRIES 16 YDS 108 AVG 6.8 TD 1

Like I said earlier, at one point I appreciated a lot of what kissme had to say and what was posted. But to say he sucks is uncalled for. I would loved having him on as an Irish player.

I agree with Bob on this one. Plus it saves Bog from having to call people limp dicked on their public profiles for not agreeing with him. How do you say, "stay classy" in Gaelic?

Damn I write too much!!!!

Damn I write too much!!!!

I never said you were not a BK fan, you need to calm down and stop cussing at me like you've lost your mind. I ain't your wife. She may put up with that, but I won't, and I hope to god you don't talk to her like that, all I can tell you is if you do, I hope you end up pulling a cast iron skillet out of your right ear.

I said I was done, but then you had to bring my wife into it. Soooooooo:

1. Don't do that. Don't bring spouses and children and cousins and grandmas and ANYTHING else like that into this argument. C'mon, do better.

2. But speaking of her, I have NEVER cussed out my wife nor would I ever. She's a living saint, and I have never nor would I ever treat her poorly. I have never disrespected a lady, and I never will.

(But since you brought her up, she knows the game and she especially knows sports. She was an athlete at Notre Dame, and she's probably been to over 30 ND games in her lifetime, if not more. At the game, I posed to her your notion about an athlete beating another team twice in a row while putting up record numbers and leading two epic comebacks during those games. Would this athlete have the upperhand on a team? She laughed and asked if was serious. THAT is a woman who understands the psyche of sports. Sorry bogs.)

I don't need to drop an f-bomb in every response I make to you.

6 paragraphs and you throw a fit over ONE curse word. My apologies.

I made a generalization, sorry if you took it personal.

LOL - you do realize that this whole thing got personal because of YOU, don't you? Remember, I debated something you said, and you IMMEDIATELY played the gender card. That was on you. This had ZERO to do with gender, and everything to do with football. The fact that you wanted to argue on this thread, then threw the gender card out there the second someone disagreed, and now wants to take your ball and leave shows this was never about football for you. You wanted to hand with the boys and be treated like one of the guys, and then when someone treated you like one of the guys, you blew up. Sorry, not everyone worships you and treats you like a little girl like bogs does.

You win NDinLA.

Haha, I "won" the second you said Denard didn't have the upperhand on us. You handed me the trophy right then and there LOL. Sooooo....thanks?

I appreciate that Bogs, but I too, am officially finished with IE as well.

Too??? Dude (oops, there I go again, treating you like one of the guys), bogs ain't done with IE. He posts here more than anyone and he ain't leaving here for a second. C'mon now. He just hates me, that's all. He's asked for my "boss's" name (LOL - like I get paid for this crap) a couple of times from me to tattle on me. He wants me gone, which would suck for me because then I's lose my $0 an hour, 365 days a year job that everyone must be coveting.

NDinLA has never blatantly and beligerently attacked another poster on this site he didn't agree with the way he has me.

Ummmmm, I've done WAY worse to other posters than I've done to you. This is tepid. The old NDinL.A., pre-daughter, was way worse to some people (a couple I've apologized to, others had it coming IMHO). I've just never had anyone react the way you and bogs do. Most just debate me right back. You got your feelings hurt, and bogs got all indignant LOL.

He's called me stupid,

OK, now you're just straight lying. Shame on you. Point to me EXACTLY where I did that. C'mon bogs, find it if she won't (here's a hint...it ain't there. She's lying.).
he talks to me like I'm a man sitting on a bar stool.

EXACTLY!!!! That's the way good message boards work. A bunch of dudes having a drink in a bar, discussing sports and whatever else comes up. You should be happy that I talk to you that way - it means I've accepted you as a member of this board.

I don't get how you can demand that you be treated like one of the guys, that you know football and you can hold your own in a football conversation, and then when someone treats you like one of the guys, you complain about it. HUH??????? Make up your mind. Do you want to be flirted with (sorry, that ain't what I'm here for), or pampered and treated with kid's gloves (bogs is here for that), or do you want to be treated like one of the guys? Make up your mind.
I don't care that he doesn't agree with me, and I don't care that he believes I know nothing about football.

Yeah you do. That's what set you off in the first place and when you implied I was a sexist.

The fact that he has to resort to being a keyboard gangster using caps and cussing me out shows he suffers from some sort of inadequacy, but as I sat in an emergency room getting my head stapled shut I promised myself I'd never allow myself to be treated or talked to in an abusive manner by a man as long as I lived. The fact that Bogs is the only man who thinks the way NDinLA talks to me is wrong, has destroyed my faith that there are good men in the world.

Ha ha, I'm a gangster b!tches! Yeah boyyyyyyyy!

I'm a good dude, trust me, and it doesn't hurt me one iota that you (wrongly) think differently. Treat my wife with respect, never have strayed and never will, and I love my daughter and would do anything for her. You let one anonymous dude who put you in your sports place destroy your faith in men? Wow. Take a step back and think about that.

I didn't feel the need to cuss him out or call him stupid.

Never cussed you out and never called you stupid. 'A' for believing your lies, 'A' for effort, 'F' fpr comprehension.

And I still stand by what I say about Denard Robinson.

That says it all.

EDIT: Had to put my sick daughter to sleep in the middle of this post and it took quite awhile, so I apologize if this post is dated. Speaking of baby Alyssa Rae, if she gets old enough and happens to love sports and wants to join a sports message board dominated by men, I'll tell her I wouldn't if she can't handle it, to know her sh!t before posting, and to buckle up and have thick skin, and NEVER play the gender card...

Póg ma thoin, I believe.

I guess I will follow your lead, Dude. (Oops, there I go again treating you like one of the guys. And of course you know, Bogs ain't done with IE. See ND in LA, this is what I am talking about. You just make stuff up. I don't hate you, I dislike immensely how mean spirited you are. I don't think you should be in charge of anything. How should I say it? With you a little bit of power goes a long way? This is the control issue - and what KissMe took such umbrage to. Tattle? See this is a perfect example of how you try to demean others and this is what you did to KissMe that she objected to, and was right in calling you on. I don't have much of my ego invested in your comments. Really, instead of "my hair being on fire," I have been chuckling a bit. And honestly, I don't want you gone. I just don't want to see you treat people like this. I have seen it happen before. Only with people who stand up to you, you attack violently and make things up.

I have been talking to the deer quite a bit lately, and even he says he learned a lot from his involvement with everybody on IE. He even included you. I would have to agree. I feel as if I have learned a lot and profited from all my experiences here. So thanks for your part in that.

I'm closing this thread. I'm disappointed in the lot of you. NDinLA can be an arse, but I'm not going to have him characterized as sexist when his posts have not contained any indication that gender has been a factor. In fact, I think it's incredibly disgusting to compare him to an abusive husband. And I mean incredible; I cannot believe this discussion was taken there. There are plenty of jerks out there and NDinLA, on his worst days, can play that role with some gusto (and to be fair LA comes off as rougher than usual in this thread); but let's not conflate using strong language or "being mean" with something so much more reviling.

I'm also disappointed that, despite my bevy of private messages, the whole "deer" thing is at issue. It's not. That none of you care for actual conversation on the matter makes this whole thing more about taking cheap shots in public than about coming to a solution. And each unanswered explanation of my position further reduces how seriously I will take these calls.

As always, I invite any questions or comments via PM on any issue.

Your friendly please-everyone-just-quiet-down-for-a-minute,
Jason

I definitely took it too far, and jason is right, I can be an arse when I get into discussions. My apologies to the board for letting it go too far.

Word out of Jacksonville that he stole the show at their three-day rookie minicamp, working mainly at RB but while getting some work at WR as well. Could be a very good offensive weapon for a team in dire need of more playmakers, and an intriguing fantasy option.

There was a reason that he won the Heisman every September. Then the big boys came and knocked his *** silly. Now multiply that x2. 16 games of punishment.

I really think durability will be an issue with Denard. Every time he played us he'd get hurt and come out for at least a play. If he can stay healthy I think he could get about 7 years out of the NFL, but he's so fragile.

I really wish he'd give corner a shot. He might save his own life.

Notre Dame's defense certainly had trouble tying Dennard's shoelaces! Defenses, when facing Michigan, basically had to contain one player, and Robinson was a frustrating assignment. I was surprised to see Dennard go so late in the draft. He's a baller. Proved it on many occasions. That dog and pony show, they euphemistically call the NFL Combine, is responsible for many poor decisions.

I agree. He is a poor passer by college standards and terrible by NFL standards. He is a great runner but fragile. In college he faced one or two defensive players of NFL caliber each week and couldn't come out of September, let alone October, unscathed, or last year even playable.
What will happen when he has to face 11 NFL defenders every week for at least 16 games, and more if his team makes the playoffs?
Defense, especially, CB is his only hope for a successful career and a post football life free of pain.

Nice. I always thought Denard seemed like a great kid, but obviously as long as he played for scUM I couldn't root for him. I'm definitely rooting for him now. Such an exciting player to watch.

DG is definitely a better decision maker than Denard as well as a passer. But Denard certainly has left his mark here in records that will never be broken in my lifetime most likely. Since Michigan has changed their base offense once since 1948.

With Michigan going back to the immobile artillery piece QB, there won't even be anyone near Denard's Michigan numbers.

Chad Henne, statistically the best QB here, had -315 rushing yards. Yes, you read that right. All from sacks but certainly a strange number.

Denard had 4,495 rushing yards. Closest to that record here is Rick Leach with 2,176.

I really like Gardner and I think he's going to have a strong season. Question is: Does Michigan have any other playmakers?

Gallon comes up big in key spots but his size still worries me. When our top guy is my height, that doesn't sit well with me. WR and OL are huge question marks.

I just hope Derrick Green and/or Deveon Smith are as good as advertised. If so, they could start immediately. Defense does not worry me at all. If Mattison and Hoke's fushion cuisine tactics got QUINTON WASHINGTON who did nothing his whole career and was recruited as an OL, to turn on his RS Jr year and looks to be preseason all-B1G, I have faith.

Morons in the media have Michigan going 7-5. Have you seen their schedule? If they go 7-5, there will be firings. People are already pissed at Borges (OC) for being a big part in the ND, Neb and ohio losses.

I see a good 9-10 win season for Michigan this year as long as the OL is decent (Lewan is a great start) and they find some weapons for Gardner.

...at least once a year I won't miss him being in the college game. Dude was a riot to watch 11 times a year....I would put on keystone cops music and watch his highlights and laugh my a$$ off.

I think Denard could be a good kick returner. In terms of a offensive...I think the NFL analysts got it right in that if you can find ways to get him the ball on quick hitters, he's money. I don't think he has the route running to be a formidable threat beyond 10 yards down field. In terms of his stature...If he survives two years, and makes it to the ripe ole' age of 24 or so, he'll bulk up a little bit more, and I think he's a 8 year guy in the NFL.

Now that he is no longer a Wolverine, I will attempt to say good things about him.

He is an exceptional talent, there is no doubt about it. I honestly feel he will have a similiar career as Devin Hester.

Hester, isn't really "great" at any position other than returner. But once the ball is in his hands anything is possible.

Robinson is too explosive of a runner to not try and find a way to get the ball in his hands. Now it is up to the coaches to figure out the best way to do that.

Maybe it's the whiskey, or perhaps the Kilt Lifter, but could anyone else see him as a slot in a WR option package?
