I didn't want NDinL.A's subtle tribute to Carly Rae Jepsen to go unnoticed.

I saw it-- I read the words in the post, brah!

Thank you!!!! You and 3 other people probably read the novel LOL (not my finest moments of restraint no doubt, but for the life of me I couldn't let that nonsense go. Gotta work on that...), but at least one person got my stupid joke LOL. reps...

The thing about Denard is that he is a very talented athlete, but not much of a QB. He is extremely dangerous against defenses that don't play disciplined and make mental or physical mistakes. Against a fundamentally sound and disciplined defense, he is not nearly as dangerous. I won't know how scared to be of Robinson until I know more about what our defense is. I could see it being very good if we get even decent secondary play, but it remains to be seen.

We contained him much better last year then the previous year when he killed us running the ball. Last year it was our poor DB play that let them off the hook and of course, that unbelievable goal line stand that resulted in a fumble that bounced right to him for a score. If that doesn't happen we still win.

We have a much better defense up front this year, but as mentioned by others, the key will be our O-line and the ability to control the LOS and run the ball. Given UM is weak on the D-line we should be able to do this. I do see Hoke stacking the box and forcing Golsen to beat them with his arm. Look for Golsen to roll out more with the option of running or passing.

I think it will be a game going into the 4th quarter, but Michigan will have some plays bounce their way and Denard will break a big run or two. Which will have them up by 2 touchdowns or so and somehow it will be made that they dominated the whole game.

Denard's ribs...
I think that impacts the game plan some...just not the outcome...agree two tds +/- a field goal in there. might be tight at the half...

I've read most of this thread and I still think we should beat Michigan. I know that Denard is a playmaker and has beat us by himself the past two years, but I also think we can really dominate the trenches. I always thought Michigan was overrated losing a good amount of their starters on both lines, and I really do believe that if that game last year was ANYWHERE else in the world other than the Big House, that we beat Michigan by a good margin. The blueprint is out on how to beat Denard... POUND THE EVER LIVING **** OUT OF HIM! But, if we don't do that, we will have a close one on our hands and a possible loss.

5 interceptions on 5 consecutive possessions and a fumble in the FIRST half. The prosecution rests your honor. This why I said and will stick by, Denard Robinson sucks.

I read a lot of your posts, and you post well; but this statement is outrageous. He is a good football player. Your statement basically puts down the Irish defense in another sense of the statement. There is not one team in FBS that wouldn't want him on their team and I bet you would get a huge 'hell yes' from the majority if not all of the Irish staff and players.

The ferocity and the crudity avalanched at Denard Robinson certainly have nothing to do with him as a person. [in contrast to, say, someone like Lane Kiffen or half the team some years at FSU or Miami]. Looked at this way, what every such comment is really saying about Denard Robinson is :" Damm man but you were a total pain in the patoot for years and we are really happy to see you go." ... a strange way to salute an "honorable enemy" but that's what it is.

They should have bit the bullet this year and installed Bellomy in the West Coast offense and stuck Denard in the slot. He is too good not to be on the field.

Now that would be hell for any defense to defend.

It doesn't put down the Irish defense. He's overrated! Yes he is fast. Very fast. But when you put him up against good defense he can't hang. Alabama (and I'm not saying ND is as good as Bama) held him to one TD, Notre Dame allowed none. They played USAF and UMASS in between and he smokes the field. There is no dynamic, because he can only run all over teams that aren't that great. They couldn't beat WI last year, or MSU...do you see what I'm saying now or are you just on the Denard bandwagon? Either way, it's still my opinion. He's not worth a Heisman.

You know what? I don't have an argument for you. If you are truly that ignorant to not think that Denard Robinson is not a good football player, you are not worth talking or posting to. Good luck.

Dia daoibh,

Okay, now I watched the game in person and on TV. And I watched it over until I understood.

So let us do the basic course. The reason Kissme is a genius and I have defended her in the past is because she channels the "Wisdom of the Crowd." I am not going to go into an indepth chaos theory lesson; suffice it to say, if you have a hundred people that make guesses as to how many marbles in a jar, some are going to be high, some low, but even with the ones that are way off, the highs and lows will balance each other out. So you will get a good average; spooky accurate.

Denard sucks: Does not literally mean he is a straw, so what does it mean? The long and the short is you have a nice guy, with a specific elite talent that has been built up to be something he isn't:

Denard is a nice guy.
Denard has wheels.
Denard can take a hit.

But Denard is not a one man wrecking crew.

Denard sucks as a quarterback, because Denard can't plant his feet, his footwork sucks, so his accuracy sucks, and by the way, his decision making really sucks.

Now do you want to see what Michigan fans say?

Posted: Yesterday 11:40 AM

Just back from that dump they call a city. A few thoughts...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Not that impressed with ND defense. Even an average passing quarterback maybe has 2 picks vs. what that defense posed. A below average passing qb like Denard had 4[and a below average halfback had one, which was good enough to score a TD the previous week and several times the previous season], all bad picks. We gained 300 yards, on the road and would have scored at least 17 points with an average qb, even with 3 turnovers, not 6.

2) J.T. Floyd was considering the NFL last year? His coverage on that last play was inexcusable for a four year starter.

3) The O.Line is improving. Even on most of Denard's picks, he had enough time, just made bad decisions. Bigger holes in the run game even against a supposed awesome front 7.

4) ND is good, much better this year than they have been which isn't saying much. They will likely get exposed by USC, Stanford, Oklahoma and others. If they don't. I will be shocked.

So this Walmart Wolverine, as well as a multitude of others stated that because our defense was bad, and most other things about Michigan was good, then Denard really sucks.
(From a football standpoint, decision making aside those turnovers including the fumble were taken, not given.)

About ten times on our way out of the stands we heard, "Denard Sucks!" We didn't stop to check to see if those fans actually had any equipment or not, to determine if the were WW's or not, but we guessed most were. (I have never seen such a classless fan base, the birdflipping, spitting, sacreligous, drunkeness . . . yet I met some really awesome Law school students, Kwame & Co.)

What I do not like is with the stout denial of Kissme's attackers on this thread, a great defense is being presented for the myth. Myths have reasons, this one is to perpetuate the dysfunction of the ND faithful. Building Denard to mythical perportions serves to offer ND an excuse to be slow and stupid, and to not compete with the best. And then when you finally do build a program, you invalidate the praise of those who worked hard, and built a winner by robbing them of fair acknowledgement by saying "Denard sucks (afterall)!"

Danny Spond and Bjax beat Denards @ss all afternoon. I mean like a rug. And Manti hit him so hard that a normal person would not have gotten up. Sheldon Day out ran him, and sacked him more by himself than how many teams last season? (SD>>>AL) Stephon was all over him, so bad that he confused Denard. (Big people can't move that fast!)

So the multi-headed super human beast Denard sucks; the real man I am sorry for, because his whole fan base is selling him out after one of his best efforts ever.

Kissme, thank you for your wisdom! Walmart Wolverines, you are right, Denard sucks! Go Irish - Téigh Gaeilge!

If Denard 'sucks', then explain 2010 AND 2011. If he 'sucks', explain how he broke records against us. And if you say it was us, that doesn't explain why you didn't say we sucked last year on this board, and it doesn't explain what he did against other schools that makes him a standout.

See, we were all correct, and kissme was wrong on 2 major fronts:

#1) Denard doesn't suck. He sucks as a PASSER, which we all said all along! He got lucky with jump balls, but he has KILLED us with his feet and his ability to improvise, and yes, his ability to make a huge pass when needed (witness, the last drive in 2010 and 2011). So he sucks as a passer, which we all knew, and had a horrible game throwing the ball against a great gameplan, but he still doesn't suck as a football player. He's absolutely SICK as a football player, and pretty much beat us single-handedly for 2 straight years.

#2) kissme said that Denard didn't have the upperhand on us the past 2 years. I said it then and I'll say it again - WTF??????????? And she didn't just say it once out of frustration, she screamed it and never backed away from it, as ludicrous as it sounded to anyone who played or followed sports. When a guy beats you TWICE in the final seconds of a game, breaking your freaking backs while doing it, is undefeated again you, AND breaks all kinds of records doing it, ummmmmmmmm, sorry, the dude has the upperhand on you, and it's not even close.

Put it this way...if you went into a bar and argued kissme's argument, not only would you be laughed out of the bar, they would probably pay your tab because they felt sorry for you that you had no clue about sports. And if the tables were reversed, if WE had won 2 games with an unconventional QB leading the charge, then we would laugh our asses off at any Walmart Wolverine who attempted to make that ridiculous argument. I mean, these are all opinions, but this is about as close to fact as you're going to find. Just try and make her argument at a sports bar and you'll see what I mean.

Soooooooo, if you want to keep blindly defending her ridiculous arguments, have at it. But no one who knows a thing about sports is buying that she was a 'genius' (LOL) for making those 2 points. And using a Michigan fans perspective (you know, the same fans you were bagging on before the game) does nothing to bolster your argument.

Oh, and #3 - we all said that we'd beat Michigan (re-read the thread; you 2 tried and tried to say that we were all scared of Denard and that we were predicting a loss, when it wasn't even close to being the truth), so we were right there as well. I'll take 3 for 3 any day of the week...

Are you addressing my post? Did you read it?

Have you read the Ann Arbor blogs? Kissme is an oracle ahead of her time.

It isn't about your arguements, if you are trying to direct them against me, it is about your arguement's blindness. Michigan is lost in the cult of the personality with Denard, just like we were with Clausen and Tate, and tried to be with Rudolph. A fan base that builds up a good player to superhuman status will eat him alive when that player fails to live up to expectations (unrealistic). Watch that happen this year. Kissme is actually offering the antidote.

Now if you want to see it in full bloom, Brady Hoke, who has been annointed as the second coming of Bo, especially if he has a rough year this year, will start to fall into Rich Rod's recruiting hole next year. Just watch what happens. I will support Kissme if she says Hoke sucks, too!

When your team controls the scoreboard for 3 quarters of a game and let's a team come back and score 28 pts to beat you, then that loss is on your team, not the magnificent golden child that is known to the world as Shoelace. Michigan had more time of possession, more rushing, more of mostly everything Saturday night and what killed them? Turnovers. Deja vous? ND was the better team on paper last year also, what killed them? TURNOVERS. As I said, and please take off your maize and blue glasses so you can comprehend this...when you put Denard up against a team worth their salt like MSU in 2011 does he break records? No. Does he win? No. Does he look like a turd in the punch bowl? Yes. Put him up against Wisconsin...no deal. Had ND not lead the nation in turnovers last year, they would have beat Michigan. We all know that. Moving on to 2012, he goes up against Alabama (make all the arguments you want, I KNOW they are good) but he choked. He goes up against AF and barely squeaks by. Then he runs all over UMASS, but gets up against ND and totally $hits the bed. He's a great playmaker. He is fast. He's a perfect running back, but he is a terrible QB. If his position were running back, I wouldn't be arguing my point. But he's not a RB, he's a QB, who is terrible at being a QB. I predict they lose to Purdue, and I believe Michigan may have a 6-6 season but at this point the best I think they can pull off is 8-4 and that's a stretch.

I have thought that since he started. Michigan has gotten themselves a Charlie Weiss in Hoke.

Here's what I get from this argument:

- Kissme is the sharpest football chick ever. I mean seriously. How many gals can go toe to toe over a football argument using correct football jargon to this extent?

Here's what I don't get about this argument:

- What is there to win? We won. Shoelace had a terrible game. Did I mention we won...?

Let it go.

Come with me.

Breathe.

Ahhhh.

Peace.

And Miami in 2 weeks.
