Just some updates on future opponent

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Syracuse's Andre Cisco has declared for the 2021 NFL Draft<br><br>Cisco: 3rd-ranked safety in the Draft class <a href="https://t.co/A35RZMB72e">pic.twitter.com/A35RZMB72e</a></p>— PFF College (@PFF_College) <a href="https://twitter.com/PFF_College/status/1316209993843175425?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 14, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Cisco, an AP preseason All American, former freshman All American, and two time All ACC defensive back, played in two contests this season before an ACL injury in warm-ups prior to the GTech game. He will finish tied for fourth in career interceptions at Syracuse with 13 in just over two years of playing time, and is the active interceptions leader in college football.

Senior QB Tommy Devito was injured in the 4th quarter of the Duke game this past week.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Source: Syracuse QB Tommy DeVito will likely miss the rest of the regular season after suffering a lower-left leg injury vs. Duke today: <a href="https://t.co/Yt2GZa3Fea">https://t.co/Yt2GZa3Fea</a></p>— Stephen Bailey (@Stephen_Bailey1) <a href="https://twitter.com/Stephen_Bailey1/status/1315082058117656580?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 11, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Entering the 2020 season, their top two running backs, Abdul Adams and Jarveon Howard, opted out. Current starting running back Jawhar Jordan was injured in GTech game and Dino Babers said after the Duke game he would be out “for an extended period of time.”

There is some wild stuff going on such as a foot injury to offensive lineman Dakota Davis shifted Chris Elmore from fullback to starting left guard.

Yea their other highly regarded defensive player, DB Trill Williams, opted out the remainder of the year this week. Their roster was bad before it was beat up. All signs point to a 1-10 season.

We just need to win next week...I feel like that gives us a week here to dominate early and get some PT for some young guys especially at QB and the other skill spots

That would be nice, need some backup QB experience.

I'll guess 34-0. Would be worse but Kelly gets the senior backups a lot of reps.

Did anyone see how that NC St game ended?

QB took a sack on 3rd and goal with 15 seconds left. Big mistake, but it gets worse.

As the clock was expiring, instead of running a 4th down play, the QB spikes the ball to end the game...wild.

So you’re saying we have a chance next week lol

I saw it and that’s an embarrassing way to lose

Hoping this is a game we see 2nd and 3rd teamers all or most of the 2H...

I'd love to get a long look at back up QBs.

I'd love to see Clark get some chances to throw the ball in the second half. Might just be a heavy dose of C'Bo though.

Yeah, and not just handing off and doing QB keepers. I'd like to see some spirals in the air ... let's see what they got!

Hopefully we avoid the trap.

My normal pessimistic side would agree with you but I see the following week be more trap likely. However I think we can start getting ready for Clemson round 2. I'll prolly have a different time by the end if the week

Looking at their stats, they average under 100 yards a game rushing and are 120th in the country. QBs have been sacked 37 times. They average 260 yards/game.

I want a shutout.

Beat them like a second ranked team playing Syracuse ... 53-3, the good guys.

I could see SU covering for a couple of reasons: ND offense may want to try some new looks or expand on what we’ve seen them open up w/ the past few games AND if the 2/3s on defense get a lot of reps the SU starters may be able to squeeze a few TDs out of their inexperience.

Gibbons is also a good player, so this doesn't worry me. Plus with it being Senior Day, it'd be nice for him to get some serious snaps. ISD mentioned on a podcast a couple weeks ago that he may grad transfer out considering he'd likely start elsewhere, but not at ND.

Zeke could’ve used the reps lost from the WF game...not saying ND should still play that game but it may make choosing who the center is for championship game tougher between Correll & Lugg. Thankfully they have a week to sort it out.

Having Kraemer there (just in case) is refreshing. Let's me know he is probably close to 100%. Nothing against 'Cuse but, with the stated line-up in the article, Irish should be just fine.
