Luckily I don't have to make executive decisions, I get to just sit here and talk shit.
But in all reality, idk man, I don't know what the landscape will look like in terms of availability, or what coaches will be on the market. I'd be willing to sell my soul and go after Urban Meyer. Pay him whatever it takes, loosen some restrictions. Not to the level of a Bama or SEC affiliate, but to where ND is able to compete. BK is at the pinnacle of where he's capable of going. He is at 7000 RPMs and redlining. He hasn't landed a 5 star recruit in almost 6 years, and it's not from lack of offers, because we extend them every year. When your best guys are on par with the elite programs worst guys, the talent discrepancy is always gonna be too great. Bring in a young hotshot coach, we need to make runs at assistants from elite programs while there's still time, rather than being content with BKs mediocrity. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is structurally as good as ND can get in the current CFP landscape, but damnit man shouldn't we at least make an exploratory effort?
