Cignetti Named Home Depot National Coach of the Year... Let's show him and The Hosers who the REAL Coach of the Year is! 🍀🍀🍀
I know I’m more biased as an IU fan, but I’ve watched all IU and ND games this year, and IUs offensive play calling has clearly looked better than NDs! The passing in particular! Cig and OC Shannahan have things clicking! They lost to OhSht due to 2 bad ST plays, but did move the ball well against them early on especially in the run game!
The Irish playcalling has been suspect! They rely too much on the run, which has worked well for them! Nothing frustrates me more though than 3rd and long runs! If IU can contain Leonard and Love in the run game while forcing Leonard to throw downfield, IU will have a good chance at a W.
The way ND could beat IU is in the short passing game mixed with 1st down runs to keep the IU offense off the field! Mitchell Evans could have a field day if he gets paired on a smaller db!

All in all, I think it will be a close, high scoring game with home run plays each way! Whoever has the ball last may win!

Not sure which game you watched, but after IU scored on their opening drive, OSU held them in check and IU's offense didn't do anything until a late TD under 2 minutes in the game. 68 yards passing and 85 yards rushing. They had a similar offensive let down against Michigan when trying to run the ball. News flash, ND's defense is as advertised, just like UM and OSU.

High scoring game, eh? I'm not a betting man but I'd take the under without much hesitation. Both defenses are rated highly and both teams have had difficulty moving the ball at various times against the better defenses. You certainly could be right but please review my last post that explores the details of ND's and IU's rankings:

Given the right set of circumstances, either team could win. If you're playing the percentages, you have to give ND the majority-share at minimum. But, both teams are going into this feeling good. I'm very anxious for next Friday.

When is the player walk? I might try and take my 10 year old nephew while we're there.

Correct, I watched the game live and then again a few days ago. IU looked terrible and couldn't do anything after the first drive.

I seriously wish this game was this weekend. The play offs interfere too much with the cricket season.

First drive 70 yards Touchdown
Last real drive (after the game was already decided) 75 yards Touchdown
In between 7 real drives = 26 yards (didn't count the last possession of the first half 1 play kneel down)

LOL that's pretty brutal.

Thanks for your unbiased analysis. Have you ever thought about using exclamation marks? Can add a lot of flavor to your posts.

I can’t help but get my hopes up with all the analysts actually giving Notre Dame a legit chance at not only making it to the final game but some firmly believe they have a shot at winning this thing. I’m starting to believe and that’s a dangerous feeling….
