You are basing your opinion of Notre Dame's competitiveness with Ohio State based on games that occurred like 5 and 15 years ago. Lol.

They’ve played half a season so they have zero attrition or major injuries. Nothing would be more “Notre Dame” then for them to get matched up vs tOSU after a lackluster performance against NW which gets Irish fans’ hopes up and then get annihilated by the Buckeyes.

Look what Venables & Elliott were able to plan for w/ two weeks. Day & his staff would own ND”s staff w/ Lea having one foot out the door. I had a different opinion before what I just witnessed tonight. Etienne hasn’t many 100 yd games...until tonight. What happened to that Joe Moore Award worthy OL? That ain’t coming back w/o Patterson. Venables totally nullified Book tonight.

I think we would beat OSU this year. But the bottom line it's Clemson v Bama, again. The other 2 teams don't matter.
I really hope that Kelly says thanks but no thanks we don't deserve it when the playoff committee slots us 4th because our loss was better than A&M.

Ending the year with 2 straight blowouts isn't a good look.

ND will never get the kids they need to compete at this level.

What I'd also like to see is a coach like Venables who is happy to be the DC on a good program with no aspersions for a shitty hc gig where you'll be out of a job in 4 years because you are setup to fail.

Better watch reruns of 88 because you'll never see it again.

I’ll have to watch it back but the officiating was pretty lopsided, which contributed to the blowout. Still would have been a loss but looked more respectable. At least a couple of the big runs Clemson had for TD’s involved a hold that directly affected the play.

I’m not a proponent of all holds being called as they happen almost every play. They should absolutely be called when the man held could have stopped the runner. Happened too many times today and was a little home cooking.

Urban was a WR coach who was still cutting his teeth back then. Urban is done coaching. On the slim chance he does return it'll be to a USC or another program where they'll be able to bring in every and any talent they want without academics or the administration to hold them back. Urban ain't coming to ND, Boob Davie talked him out of it in '05 and the door closed. The reality is ND is a very good team still, but aside from the occasional upset you're not going to dominate the top 5 football factories right now.

Game wasn't that bad. Offense just self-destructed when given opportunities and Rees was thoroughly out coached by the best DC in college football.

I thought the defense would give up 28-35 points and they did that despite making some truly crazy errors in key moments.

Something tells me that Alabama's O line wouldn't fall apart if two starters got hurt. Saban would reduce his o line coach to tears the way Belichick reduced him to tears in Cleveland if it did.

I’m proud of the guys. Crazy year. Incredible circumstances and they played 10 good games and one stinker. I still don’t think there is another team better than this one outside the top four.

This season doesn’t deserve to mean shit! We beat a team who’s beat player was out then when he was back they murdered us. We accomplished nothing and we don’t deserve anything because of it other than a reminder that there’s a way you run your program when you’re an elite team....and we aren’t running our program in that manner.
