I'll have to remember that for the next project I'm working on. I write thousands upon thousands of lines of code for some of them. But, every now and then, I find a snippet of code off the web that does exactly what I need to do, or a template that I think would be a great design for a client, ect..

I guess since I've personally wrote so many other lines of code in my life, it's ok from me to remove the credit/copywrite information from just one or two methods I steal from other places, right?

And there are plenty of othe examples of him being an ***. I've read one story where he actually didn't want to go on stage when he was scheduled, because he thought he was "Bigger" than the headliner. So, when he came out, he wouldn't get off stage, taking up the time of two other comedians. They had to pretty much pull him off, and even then he was pissed.

Sure, everyone is an egomanic in some fashion of the word in the industry, but not everyone is as hated.

Jim Breur said this: "Everyone kills this guy ... Not one comedian comes on [my Sirius radio show] and says 'I'm so happy for him', which is weird. ... They can't stand this poor guy."

Wonder why?

He did a comedy sketch for Comedy Central about 8 years ago which was classic and awesome. His other stuff hasn't been as good. But that skit alone was so good he just got set up for all of these other opportunities.

I don't think he's a comedic genius, but I don't think he's terrible. He is what he is, but he doesn't belong in the pantheon of comedians.

I think a lot of people don't like him mainly because:

A.) He's vastly more popular than he should be. I think this is what draws the most ire from his fellow comedians who don't get to make movies with Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson.

B.) Part of reason A. is that his time in the sun (like many comedians) is likely over, yet he's still pretty popular. This happens to so many comedians that are very funny when they first come out (like I contend Cook was) and then they sort of hit a wall and aren't that funny anymore.

He blew up way too fast and his material could not keep up. I think he had an HBO special only 2 years after his 1st comedy central special. He is not that funny but has that kind of attitude that frat boys and douches seem to love.

Also from what i read it all went to his head and he became a huge ******* backstage

SOme of his stuff makes me smile... like Carlos Mencia, but I hear both steal stuff like crazy... and neither are THAT funny...

I like Doug Stanhope... that guy is hilarious.

It's 10 minutes long, but if you want to see Joe Rogan calling Mencia out on his joke stealing, it's on YouTube. - If nothing else, it's fun watching them fight.

Dane Cook is totally overrated. Acting is iffy at best. I've tried to get through a couple of his stand up videos but turn them off pretty quickly. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one out there that just doesn't get it when it comes to DC. The best of the best are still Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams and Richard Pryor. George Carlin is right there too.

As for Dave Chappelle, the Wayne Brady episode was the greatest thing ever.

Only to be rivaled by the "Black President" episode.
