Yep, that story has been all over the news starting yesterday. The key worked for OpenAI and then Anthropic (which is supposed to be the one of the bunch at least trying to be more ethical but the guy basically said even with that attempt, all these companies are ruthlessly trying to win the AI/AGI race and have no intention of ceding anything to regulators or third party entities... I've been yelling at him on my TV for the past month now. I appreciate Bill's "I can criticize both sides," but IMO, he's 1) way too hard on the DSA element (exaggerates their influence) and 2) he is absolutely wrong on Israel and Palestine, distilling it down to "those lunatic leftists kids protesting on campus."

He has a very lazy take for a smart guy who consumes media all week between shows so I'm not sure what his issue is unless he's just plain and simple a brainwashed Zionist (I know his mother was Jewish, but I believe he was raised Catholic as his father was Irish Catholic).
