I'm on board with the removal of Hendry and Quade

To think we coulda had Ryno as the skipper this year...

The Cubs did Sandberg a favor by not choosing him as manager. This team as a whole is past it's prime and Quade is basically a care taker, while they rid themselves of the bad contracts and build a younger team around Castro. The new owners weren't willing to waste Ryno on such a bad team(s) and possibly not be able to keep him, once the team is revamped.

What are Soriano, Dempster, Ramirez, Pena, Zambrano, Grabow, and I'm probably missing a few.

Makes sense... I just remember reading that there was a possibility for Ryno to manage them (the cubs) and I got excited. Ryno is/was my favorite cub

A Cardinal fan, a Brewer fan and a Cub fan, all wearing caps from their favorite team are walking down the sidewalk. They happen to notice human feet sticking out from some bushes. Concerned that the person might be injured, they go behind the bushes and find a woman, passed out drunk and stark naked. The Cardinal fan, being the chivalrous gentleman that he is took off his hat and put it over her right breast. The Brewer fan followed suit putting his hat over her left breast. Then the Cub fan took off his hat and put it over her groin. Having done their gentlemanly duty, they go on their way.

A little while later two police officers discover the woman. The senior officer starts investigating, Checks under the Cardinal hat and jots something down in his notebook; Looks under the Brewer hat and jots something down in his notebook, checks under the Cubs hat and is about to write something down when he stops and with a startled look on his face says “wait a minute,” checks again and says “well what do you know” and jots something down in his notebook. His partner says “What are you looking for?” and he responds “Oh, nothing, it’s just that usually when I look under a Cubs hat I find an @sshole.”

Well Soriano, Demptser, Ramirez and Zambrano are bad contracts, as they don't contribute enough to warrant their salaries. Grabow and Pena signed short term deals and are off the books at the end of the season.

I can't believe that he lasted this long. He should've been fired two years ago at a minimum. The number of absolutely terrible contracts that he negotiated is amazing. Soriano, Zambrano, Fukodome. And don't even get me started on the Milton Bradley debacle.

Yeah... because Jim Hendry was the reason behind them sucking.

Cubs Joke of The Day
A wicked Chicago man died and went to the place all wicked people go. The Devil decided to shove him in a room and cranked the heat and humidity up. The man smiled. When the Evil One asked why the man was smiling he said: “Just like Chicago in Spring”

So the Most Evil One cranked up the heat and humidity more. The man removed his coat, smiled, and said: “Just like Chicago in Summer”

This time the Destroyer of Beauty cranked the heat and humidity to maximum. The man removed his shirt and tie and said: “Just like Chicago in August”

The Devil then got an idea. He shut off the heat and turned on the air conditioning. The room froze in seconds. Ice was everywhere. Polar bears hid in dens because it was so cold. Satan, confident he had finally won, peaked in the man’s room only to find the man cheering and partying frantically….

“The Cubs won the World Series…The Cubs won the World Series…”

I know this is a few days old, but thoughts on Starlin Castro getting caught on tape not paying attention? I didn't have a problem with the way Bobby Valentine reacted, I was furious, but the other announcer in the booth with him at the time, (name I forget) really pissed me off by talking about how little league kids played the right way and how this is outrageous, look around man, guys are always taking off their gloves, or kicking the dirt, they just don't do it during the pitch. Anyway I had to vent.

Not really surprising when he is being mentored by the likes of Alfonso Soriano and Aramis Ramirez. I don't know how many times I've seen Soriano almost get thrown out at 2nd on balls he hits off the wall. Soriano still has the speed to steal a few bases but yet he takes a lead so small he could literally fall down towards first base and his stomach would land on the base.

Some things never change

Some things never change

I am with all of you, this is getting crazy. Finally we fired that piece of %$#^ we used to call a GM. ESPN was all over his nuts saying how great of a GM he was and "they almost won the pennant under his watch in 2003". I have a few problems with what is going on. 1) We still are giving Tyler Colvin a chance, HE SUCKS. 2) Under that mutts watch, we traded away players such as sam fuld, jake fox, felix pie, ryan theriot, MARK DEROSA:verysad:, mike fontenot and i am sure i am missing some. That is why we suck, bc that was our whole farm system!! And now we have a 1st baseman for the Iowa Cubs who is hitting .335 with 34 homeruns, 37 doubles, 105 rbis, and a .406 obp. WHY THE HELL HAS THIS KID NOT GOTTEN A CHANCE. Thanks guys for getting my blood pressure up in the morning, now i feel like i just went for a run guess I dont have to go actually do that now.

I should have known Saturday was going to be a bad day when I was able to witness Marmol give up a grand slam in the 9th to none other than Lee. In the case of Colvin, man i think the kid has talent but his head is so messed up from being called up and sent down so many times he's gotta be wondering what is going on. I hope he turns it around, but he's in some serious trouble if he's going to continue to either hit bombs or strike out. We suck!

A satire of an organization. You either learn to laugh or cry. My favorite from the Onion:

Cubs, Absence From World Series Agree To 4-Year Extension

CHICAGO—At a press conference Wednesday, the Chicago Cubs and their absence from the World Series announced an agreement to a four-year contract extension, with an option for another six years.
"The relationship between the Cubs and their absence from the World Series is strong, as both sides have shown loyalty to each other for the past 63 years," Cubs chairman Crane Kenney said. "It's something the fans have come to expect. Why, I remember sitting around the fire as a boy, talking with my grandfather about how the Cubs would never make it to another World Series. I only hope my children and their children and their children's children have the same opportunity." Despite rumors, absence from the World Series would not admit to holding closed-door talks with the Mets.

I'm so glad that I'm a Cubs fan, at least we knew mid May that we were going to suck, instead of sucking at the last game of the season...here's to another year of poor spending, unwarranted hype, and pure disaster baseball. Go Cubs!

I need an Old Style

Dont respect the Cubs fan aspect. But any man that drinks Old Style is a true dude. Keep drinking miller products.

The team has no talent. It's that simple. It reminds me of my Nationals without good up-and-coming pieces that could make us competitive in 2012 if Strasburg is healthy.

I feel bad for Starlin Castro. The good news? You might grab Pujols...

I'd take Prince Fielder over Pujols. He's only 27.

Prince Fielder would be a good move because of age and being that he is a lefty, but we could just resign Pena until a younger option came along. My problem with Fielder is that he is so big and that is going to take a toll.

Ryne Sandberg needs to be the manager after the disaster this season. Mike Quade was in over his head from the get go and may as well have let the "veterans" run the asylum from day 1. He was a joke. Sandberg is a Hall of Famer who rode the buses in the minor leagues because GM Jim Hendry told him to learn the trade. Sandberg does that and then gets snubbed. I will give FnBoy Ricketts one more opportunity to get this right.
