Honestly, this is what Joe Madden brings to a team. The White Sox had as much or more talent than the Cubs, yet there's a very huge difference between a top 3 manager in Madden and a lame duck bottom 3 manager in Ventura. One makes a club better, the other makes a club worse. I am not going to accept anything less than playoffs for the Sox in 2015, but with Ventura returning, I'd say those chances are up a creek, so I'll be expecting him, Hahn, Kenny and Jerry to be turning in their badges in October 2016. So much opportunity wasted thanks in part to these total hack jobs.

Ya okay buddy. Not saying the White Sox are a better team, because that's clearly not true. But the White Sox have talent, plenty of it. That you continue to ignore that fact is not my concern. It takes more than just talent to win in sports, especially baseball. Cubs have way better chemistry, management and consistency. There isn't many holes on the Cubs roster. The White Sox have talent all over the place, but have some gaping holes, that good management would be able to overcome. Of course, in this case, horrible management will only exacerbate the issues.

Don't take this as an attack, because the Cubs will continue to be a playoff contender while Madden is in town, but don't discredit the White Sox talent, because they have it.

Always a question mark away, that's why no matter what, you have to win when you get the chance. The 2006 Sox were the best team in baseball most of the year and were mismanaged out of the playoffs.

Is Arrieta good? Hell yeah he was awesome this year. Has he finally put it all together or is he Esteban Loaiza?

That's what makes baseball great. Every team that should can falter. Look at the NYY since they started buying everyone they could. A strong, young nucleus like the Cubs have should keep them as perennial contenders, but it might not. Don't be overconfident. That's one thing Sox fans hate about the Cubs. Everyone handed them the World Series after they beat Pittsburgh and then again when they beat the Cards.

As a Pirates fan I wanted someone from the division to win. BUT I was at PNC park for the one game playoff, and I've never come across a more obnoxious fan base in my life especially when their team was winning and even after they won. Can't lump all Cubs fans together, but I wish I could say hello to the couple thousand fans that walked out of PNC park that night acting like total tools (cops, fights, it was ridiculous). Not talking shit on all cubs fans as I think the Pirates and Cubs will have some great years ahead of them, but damn I wish I could see them faces one more time after that beat-down series.

Bryant with the unanimous selection also. That's amazing.

All three are deserving of their respective awards. Maddon and Bryant were no-brainers. Jake's historic dominance in the second half and his 2 wins in the postseason, in my opinion, put him over the top for Cy Young. Lots of fun being a Cubs fan these days.
