That's a real shame. Banks was the kind of guy you want on your team for what he did on the field and for the way he was outside the game. There needs to be more guys like him, in all sports.

I have had the pleasure of being around Ernie many times at clinics/golf outings/ appearances at ball games etc. As a former player I have to say to everyone this was the way to treat people and represent the Big Leagues. Great guy!!!!

Bryant's been on a HR tear during spring. I don't think anyone's close to his total. (Not that spring means much)

Pitching staff hasn't really shaken out yet. One on IR already.

I still expect Castillo to get moved and Bryant to start in 3A ball to save a year.

Also how bout that back to back to back by the prospects the other night!?

Not too worried about the pitching yet, lots of guys just trying to fine tune things. Lester looked great his 1st 2 starts though.

Fully agree about Welly, would rather see Szczur, Olt, or Lake have a roster spot than carry 3 C's.

I think the P staff is fine too but I liked Turner a lot, and Doubront has struggled early.

Olt and Szczur (pronounced Ceasar for those reading) have loooked solid this far and would definitely be worth having over a 3rd C.

BTW, going to home opener, If anyone will be there!

I loved it. They dont do silly shit like kiss cam or anything like that. its video of past players and moments with stats and facts.

Now, if people really wanna complain about changes, lets talk about the lack of restrooms and missing two innings to take a piss waiting in line.

I couldn't agree more. The stadium drastically needed an update and with the Chicago winters and Wrigley being in a community construction can't be done at the same pace as other stadiums. Really like what Ricketts is doing with the organization and Theo and Co. definitely have the team moving in the right direction.

Oh it needed updating alright. I was never a fan of pissing in the same trough as Tinkers, Evers & Chance but that jumbotron is an abomination. I hope Boston makes the Green Monster a video board to keep up with the Jones'.

They could have added multiple video boards that would have fit into the architectural lines of the stadium but that thing sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb.

This is exactly what ND purists are afraid of when the talk of Jumbotrons and ND Stadium comes up. I know ND would never make such an eye sore a reality.

I hate to bring it up since I'm not a Cubs fan but I think Kris Bryant starting the season in the minors is complete bullshit. Calling him the next Mike Trout might be premature but he definitely should be playing in the bigs based on what he's done. The Cubbies have scored 3 runs in 3 games and he's sitting in the minors because they want to control him in 2021? Give me a break. This is terrible for baseball fans.

Then the MLBPA should negotiate a different agreement. It's their fault...no one else's.

Bryant is going to be up in just over a week. No one needs to feel bad for him.

Exactly, there isnt a team in the league who wouldn't do the same thing. It's the MLBPA's problem not the teams or MLB's. This is beside the fact that Epstein has never started a rookie on his team on Opening Day. AND this team isn't at the point that one player being up for an extra 9 games will make or break their season.
