Well her moustache is better than arrowryan's
Here are some personal favorites:
-TJ Jones is a 1st round draft pick... from our very own Brian Kelly. Almost as ridiculous as the fall camp where he said Gary Gray would be an All-American. TJ does not have the athletic profile to be more than a second round pick at absolute best... and that's if he puts up 1200 yards and 10 TDs this year.
-Jarrett Grace will be better than Te'o because (insert stupid Te'o shortcoming). Te'o was the most decorated individual player in the history of college football and Grace has never played a snap!
Dude, you're like trolling me with this lol. There are SO many from one member, but I'll leave it be cause it'll just bog down the thread and might start another holy war.
Our fans here are like most fans everywhere. 90% of the time we think higher if our team than what is reality. It's what fans do.
Thank you. Last time I'll chime in on this one, and then I'll leave it be:
* This is all entertainment...with bogs for me it's like the WWE or the Real Housewives of Orange County. It's the off-season, this is not a football thread (read the first like 10 responses...it was a joke thread), and it was a joke. I haven't started work yet, and so I had some extra time and challenged him on all the crazy stuff he says. He obviously hates that, but like I said in my 'mic-drop' (which, thanks to Wooly repeating it so very much, has become I thing lol), I don't give a sh!t anymore. I tip-toed around his bs for far too long while I was a mod, and I wasn't going to do it anymore just because he felt threatened. Like I tried to tell him a million times...if you don't like people challenging what you say, stop saying stupid, over-the-top things.
* I know I look like the douche here, and honestly I don't care. I know the truth, and bogs knows all the middle-school-BFF-gossipy crap he did and all the crap he talked back when I was a mod, and though he chooses to deny it, he knows the truth. So if I come out looking like a dick in all this, BFD. Honestly. I can see why one thinks that, but I know the truth, so it's all good. And having screwed up a few times when I was a mod (NOT an easy job), it gives certain people an opportunity to take more shots. I get that.
* If anyone thinks I'm like this in real life...c'mon man, really? I definitely argue my points strongly, and there are times where I probably lacked tact after a while, but I do that in real life at a bar as well. But other than recently with bogs (and one slip up with STL where I definitely over-reacted to something he said), I have NEVER made it personal first. Go ahead and find a time Wooly. Certain posters will take my nature of debating and immediately cry foul (I'm not saying it's bogs, but yes, bogs is one of them) and get personal, which is stupid.
I've met and hung out with a few people on this site, and they'll tell you I'm not like this in real life. This is a message board and I was just fu*king around. If I took it too far in some people's eyes, I apologize. I can't tell you how many people have told me it's fun to read.
* Wooly's acting like a dick, but it's all good. This had nothing to do with him, but he was part of that BFF clique that bogs started when he was sending me PM's inciting me, and then sending my 'filthy' responses to all his middle-school BFF's. So he's sticking up for Rachel McAdams. I get that, and I think it's admirable. He ignores his own demons while attacking me of course, but it's all good.
So again, I was just effing around. Looking back it was stupid because I didn't think people would get so pissed over it. I know I come off like a dick, but it's not the real me...didn't think others would take such an affront to it. But as God as my witness, I will not continue this bs with bogs and wooly from here on out. Doesn't mean I won't respond to posts by them, but it won't get personal, at least on my end. Bogs and Wooly will say it's b.s., but time will be the judge.
I'll TRY to get the thread back on track again. Kool-aid thoughts by random posters:

Now that we're back on subject and the personal stuff is over with, I still disagree with this premise.
First off, define elite. I would define it in football terms as someone who is All-American and/or a 1st or maybe 2nd round draft choice. Elite is the cream of the crop. No team in the country has 8 elite defensive linemen. Not even close really...not even Alabama. And maybe you modified your statement, because you originally said ND would have 8 defensive linemen next year, which we won't because of the age differences of the players (they won't all be elite at the same time).
2nd, Jaylon Smith and Danny Spond are not defensive linemen. They are linebackers who drop into coverage and occasionally rush the QB (among other duties of course). But they are certainly not d-linemen in any sense.
3rd, I don't think Ishaq will be elite. He has shown nothing of the sort yet. I;d settle for pretty good at this point. Okwara and Rochell have shown they have great bodies but have yet to do a thing on the football field. Why are we putting such lofty expectations on kids who have never done a thing in football?
I see 2 elite defensive linemen on that list. I see others who have the potential to be very good, possibly elite someday. But not 8. Not even close really. We all wear ND colored glasses, but I haven't read anywhere on the 'net where someone says we have 8 elite or potentially elite defensive linemen. That's why I put that phrase in the "crazy, koolaid statements" thread.
Legit spewed my drink across the kitchen when I read this haha
'14 CA TE Tyler Luatua... 08-07-2013 07:49 PM NDinL.A. oh no...neg reps from the douche!!! How will I survive??? LOL - what a ****ing loser you are. Go spend some time with your kids
........but this is legit fodder. You literally spit fluid all over the kitchen? Now, that makes for great reading...
Is this what Arrowryan's moustache looks like?

You know what makes for great reading? Going back and reading your posts from 2011 while you were all over Rees' sack.
.....so, how about that Harrison Smith? He's doing well for himself in Minnesota, eh?
Mods need to take care of this to be honest. Ban whoever breaks the peace, or force them to ignore each other.
I know a nice little place we can all meet up to talk it over...

+1. Nailed that one. I'll even go one further -- I'm not going to be convinced Grace is even a good player until I see him, you know, play in a game.

LOL....Ishaq is like that to me. I can see the raw talent and physical ablity...but it's like he's confused out there.
Koolaid statement:
Greg Bryant goes for 750+ yards with 7+ total touchdowns.
Pure....green.......sweetness.
On the front seven discussion, how unrealistic is it to think we would have two first day draft picks per year from the defensive front for the next four years? Nix and Tuitt obviously get us started right. Shembo is highly regarded, hard to see him going later than 3rd round. Day has given every indication he will project out well. That is four linemen that are already on track. Between Rochell, Jones, Hounshell and Springman there is plenty of talent and time for at least two of them to reach that level also. EV was on the table at the time, which adds another reasonable claim at elite. That makes a fair claim at seven (at the time) from just the line, whoever made the claim probably had Ishaq making 8. Not so outrageous if you think of top three rounds of the NFL draft qualifying as elite (as I do).
If Springmann was not a red head from Indiana we would be impressed with the reps he put in as a sophomore and excited about his 6'5" 300 lb frame that Longo has to work with. We whine about Jones but look at what Nix was doing as a freshman and sophomore?
As for LBs, Jaylon is the obvious headliner from a future NFL draft perspective. Grace's time it now, he will produce and have a great opportunity to be a first day pick in 2 or 3 years. Okwara is hard to keep off the field and has elite measurables. Easy to see him flourishing over the next three years and working into a first day pick. Lots young talent on the depth chart that should be able make names for themselves over the next few years.
That all throws Ishaq under the bus. More to the point, I place little hope in him becoming a first day draft pick. IMO he works his way to a 5th-7th round level largely due to measurable.
As we maintain an elite defense, it only makes sense to expect pretty much every graduating starter to get drafted, not all will be first day but many will. Let's not also forget that not all will stick around like Nix, our success will breed early entries to the NFL or at minimum foregoing fifth year options.
So 3 LBs with plenty of young talent to expect a few to emerge from the current roster. I think most expect the talent behind CalaFox to be an upgrade when the time comes, just not ready for primetime yet. I didn't even place odds on Spond stepping up his already admirable game this year.
I dont' think any of those are elite. And Shembo will have to have a MONSTER year to go 3rd round or better.
Not sayign we don't have talent, don't get confused, but great CFB talent and top 3 round NFL talent are different things.
Of course, I'm the same ******* that said Hayseed didn't have a chance, so take it for what it's worth.
