Delaware, Louisiana, Ohio can be added to the shelter-in-place orders. Have Illinois and NJ been mentioned?

Cities and counties:
Philadelphia, St. Louis, which also applies to St. Louis County, begins Monday, and Kansas City and its metro area goes into effect Tuesday and New Orleans.
San Miguel County, Colorado, is under a shelter-in-place order until April 3.
Athens-Clarke County, Georgia, is under a shelter-in-place order until April 7.
and Blaine County, Idaho,.

Maryland did the same thing today. Not sure the ending date though.

Weed places too in the legalized states.

I'm guessing 1) they don't want alcoholics going through detox during this, and 2) they'd rather have folks drunk at home, then out trying to find an open bar that doesn't exist. Pacify the masses..

You should feel lucky. PA has archaic liquor laws and the governor closed the state stores last week, but the beer stores are still open. You can get beer and wine but none of the good stuff (whiskey, vodka). PA just making me work harder to catch a buzz.

Call it what you will anxiety, depression or mental health but I work in public safety and during the holidays we see are rather high of increased suicides and suicidal people due to finical issues.

I wonder what will kill more people the virus or suicides?

I am not sure if there is a doctor or a counselor that helps these type of people with their disorders on here or not. But if so what’s your take on this issue?

Essentials you can still travel to. Basically the same exact thing that we've already been doing for the past 2 weeks.

On a side note: this political BS is getting tiresome. The governor couldn't even get through her speech without complaining about the lack of funding/help from Trump. She mentioned it twice to make sure she got her point across.

It's why we'll eventually destroy ourselves from the inside. Every damn thing is politicized nowadays. Half this thread touches on politics.

Holcomb just dropped the hammer on Indiana, starting tomorrow.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Starts Wednesday. Grocery stores are going to be packed again today and tomorrow.

My staff member I mentioned before is doing back flips down the hallway. lol

Reported now that the deal was actually green lighted by Pelosi. She pulled back once she found out that 5 GOPs were quarantined.....

That, along with the pork, is a very bad look.

Concedes until she finds out her buddy has enough votes with the absences to block any GOP bill. Shameless.

Funny how everyone was singing the same song until Pelosi enters the picture. Funny how it wasn't trash before... And I'm assuming you were critical of prior bailouts? BTW, Cuomo was just on CNN talking about the need to start talking about how to get people back to work in measured ways, and also talked about medicare waste. Had the other guy said any of that, he would have been completely destroyed by the MSM...

Yes his plan was trash from the moment he proposed it. It's worse than Pelosi's which was bad enough by requiring means testing. At least it was a straight cash payments instead of the tax credit bullshit McConnell wanted. Both plans are worse than what Trump originally wanted which was in excess of 2 $1k payments. The best of the bunch was.......*vomits*...... Ilhan Omar's which is a more generous version of Trump's also with no means testing.

Honestly, my take is that in times of shared hardship, there seems to be less depression. Read about things like the London blitz and how suicide rates fell (something like that). People need a purpose in life. A big problem in our modern society is how easy things are and people chase fulfillment in areas that don't bring fulfillment. Pretty sure you see a lot more suicide and depression in affluent cultures than tribal or poor cultures.

Although, the difference with this crisis is we are literally asking people to do nothing, so you could very well be right about seeing an increase in depression.

Some others on here are probably much more up to speed on this issue.

I heard that they are going to close LQ stores here too. I've got about 15 bottles of wine in the rack I think and some beer. A bit of high end whiskey too. Thought about hitting he LQ store and going Leaving Las Vegas shopping, but not worth going out IMO. And my local convenient store guy said he'd deliver to me if I wanted beer or wine, or whatever they have lol.

McConnell talking now about some of the sticking points....

So one side of the aisle is holding things up over
1. carbon footprint for the airline industry
2. tax credits for solar panels....

WTF do those things have to do with the current crisis...

So the deal is trash, but it's OK to hold things up to leverage inserting one side's Green New Deal policies.

Sorry, that's BS.

If you believe this I've got a bridge to sell you. McConnell could tell me it's Monday and I'd be skeptical. Dude is a scumbag and has every reason to lie about this.

This isn't an endorsement of Pelosi either. She's McConnell with a wig.

Both Trump and Cuomo spoke a bit to this. I heard more specifics from Cuomo who asked shrinks to call in and donate their time to help.

Why should I doubt it? McConnell said it on the floor, Schumer spoke immediately after and didn't deny any of the pork at all. He tried to spin and tug at heart strings.

I'm fine with debating measures that are relevant. Both parties were signing the same tune though. Then boom, reverse course. That wreaks of BS. There's absolutely no way you can defend trying to add pork in this situation.

When I was a kid we called It tinkle,... But I guess PA just wants to make you have to get out of your seat at home more often to take a leak. It's crazy they shut the bars down and the ABC's.
The craziest part about that is... there will be people needing hospitalization from alcohol withdrawal.

Suicides is just 1 way to directly show the impact of this panic.

Depending in what article you reference, suicide rate for homeless in America is ~6% (~9% for younger population).

Made up numbers ----- If 1.5M lose their jobs, 500K lose their morgages as a result, and 100K end up homeless.

That's 6,000 expected suicides alone. And if this panic continues, 500K losing their morgages is probably on the low end.

Again, expected suicides would just be one way to show the crippling effect of the reaction.

I'm glad GKIrish has promised the board to keep receipts on this thread...

Italy with back to back days of decreases in total cases. 4700 total new cases on the 22nd. 5500 the 21st. Let's hope that trend continues.

Spain has had 3 consecutive days of less cases each day, too.

Are they reporting already for current day already?

Yesterday was the first day for declines in both countries per worldmeters (who have been very accurate thus far)

Some pretty good stuff (data) if interested. Basic, but good/simple charts and graphs.

We're having a meeting at 3:00 to discuss. As a distributor to the medical manufacturers and aero maintenance support companies, I now expect us to continue to work at least in a reduced manner to support these companies. I'll make my speech on letting staff work from home and see how it goes.

Nice, I have been using this website. I don't think any have reported totals for the 23rd yet.

Like the functionality of the site you used better

Let’s say they extend the lockdown into the Fall, which sadly I think some are rooting for. When more people lose their jobs, money will be tighter than ever. When most regular folks have the choice between their shelter, food or meds; guess which one gets paid for last? So in addition to suicide, more indirect deaths from coronavirus.

So what are the rules here? We doing politics or not?

You do realize that every topic in this country is now just a reason to spew your political rhetoric. Hell, I've seen people on here say the reason the SEC teams are good at college football is because they are located in red states.
