I understand your point. I have been watching his talks for a long time and he has the funds to care. He's not new to this thought process.

It's the best we've got currently for discussing alternatives. And when the lives of millions of Americans are in the balance, it's tough for the politicians to argue for more exposure in favor of juicing the economy. The calculus involved is pretty morbid.

In order to keep things semi-viable, the government needs funds and essentially defaults on interest and debt payments. Other governments do the same and in the end, there is a battle for resources that ends in WWIII. The few million lives at stake now will be a drop in the bucket compared to another World War.

I think the likelihood of that is remote. But the greater economic harm that is done today, increases the chances of military conflict down the road IMO.

I agree with the fact that we are heading toward some serious unpresidented days and It comes down to a culmination of things.
We are all really the same (humans) and the media continues to alienate us from countries their(media) owners want to alienate.

This virus Is just the beginning.
The doomsday preppers just might be onto something.

As some others may have pointed out, Bill Gates funds a lot of the research against pandemics/epidemics in the world. He is closely tied in with some of the top researchers and developers in modern medicine, particularly in regards to epidemic diseases. Any information he has would be coming from them and should probably be considered pretty valuable.

Trivial, but might be of help to some.

Had grocery delivery from Kroger for the second time in the last 7-10 days. They had a lot more in stock than last time. Hamburger, milk, eggs, potatoes, produce, and a lot of things were in. All was out last week. Still didn't get chicken breast, tea bags, and other stuff, but I'd say in general, I got 80ish % of what I ordered this time, as opposed to 30% last time. $550 ordered, $429 was delivered (I'm sure it's not a direct ratio as many items were sub'd). I have back up orders lol with Walmart being delivered tomorrow evening with similar things, that I could have modified or canceled before 1am, but letting it all ride. I have 40lbs of potatoes (only ordered 20), so will be eating a lot of spuds the next month and likely handing off some to the neighbors.... holy cow. Anyone with a good potato recipe, please PM me...

On a very happy and trivial note, I have been out of good coffee for at least a week. I didn't get the SBs variety I ordered, but I did get one of my preferred subs (you can add instruction to each item). I even got french vanilla creamer... I'm so jacked up on my second big Yeti cup of Joe... happy happy happy coffee coffee coffee

It's the little things that help keep a little bit of normalcy.

I've been every day for a week buying staples for elderly clients of mine and a few friends who are unable to make it there due to health issues. Going again tomorrow to shop for a friend with MD who lives in a nursing home and is not allowed to leave.

I am, and did a couple times, but everything was pretty much out when I went. I've made the decision to NOT go for the foreseeable future due to concerns with my mother. Given her situation (not sick, but serious underlying conditions) I'm trying to go out of my way to keep clear from as much as possible in the case I may have to return to Indy on a moment's notice. I have her on lock down in her house, with my cousin and neighbors making all her runs. I almost decided to return last week to care for her, but a doc friend of mind said I'd be putting her at more risk at this point by travelling home. I really have little fear for myself, but I'm scared shitless for her and some of my aunts and uncles (70-95 range) who I'm incredibly found of.

I'm typically the guy like you (catering to the neighborhood elderly and needy), but I just can't risk that right now with my mom's situation. Whenever it snows or ices over down here, I'm literally the neighborhood shopper and taxi.

Nah man, we need to attack the Orange Man any time we can. Doesn't matter if it's a time we should all come together. It's been 7 years so she's good from that aspect. She got her bachelors in psychology from Purdue, her masters in Public Health from IU and was running clinical trials for alzheimer and dementia patients when she found out she had cancer. Went through all of the treatment then went back to school to get her nursing degree which led to what she's doing now.

It was her, the son in law and all four sons who came with me to the game.


The local news did a very unscientific test on cleaning your hands. They had four participants and checked their hands via ultra-violet light. All four looked pretty much the same. Then they had one simply wash with water, one wash with soap and water for 10 seconds, the third wash with soap and water for 20 seconds and the fourth with hand sanitizer. Checking their hands again, washing with soap and water for 20 seconds showed much better results than the others. Washing with soap and water for 10 seconds provided the same cleansing as did hand sanitizer.

No more splash and dash fellas.
