So in conclusion, don't let your toddler drive, especially if he just got done drinking. Toddlers and cars are killing machines!!!

"In fact, toddlers are more deadly than ISIS in this country." -JTLA

Forget stats, that's a sentence I never thought I'd read on this site.

Isn't this the 'Coolest guns you have fired thread'? Not the 'I'm a dick and going to force my unpopular beliefs down everyone's throats in a thread solely created to embrace what I hate and all completely legal' thread?

So my wife and I went out and bought her Glock 43 on Saturday. Nice little gun and really "cool" to shoot. ;)

JTLA, you are in your rights to have your opinion and express it. I respect that. Guns were an integral tool "toy" and still are integral tool in allowing you to exercise that right. I also am actually happy you choose not to own firearms as it seems you have much frustration and difficulty controlling your frustration based on your post.

Bought my mom a 43 about 3 years ago for Christmas. Great little gun. I prefer the 17 but you can't beat the 43 for conceal carry. I've shot just about every HK and Sig Sauer subcompact, and never found the accuracy that I did quickly with her 43. Can't miss for the money.

Yeah I like it, more importantly the wife likes it and is comfortable with it. I carry a Glock 27 and never was a big Glock fan before that, but that lil bulldog is my favorite handgun.

I think it's really gross to view these weapons as some kind of toy or something that is "cool".

Grow up.

If firing guns makes you feel cool, you probably aren't.

I'm thinking this thread is probably not for you. I don't feel cool with a gun, but I do think some guns are cool (features, capability, etc.). I'm sure the majority in this thread feel the same. I shoot for stress relief and love the competition aspect of it. I'd also bet that most on this board have their guns secured appropriately. Sure there are some idiots out there that do not, but there are also idiots out there who drink and drive as well. Some people are just dumb, but that doesn't mean that all gun owners are irresponsible gross people. Feel free to ignore this thread.

Yup, and that's huge. Took my mom to the range and tried 10+ guns before she selected the 43. Was by far the easiest and most accurate for her hands down. Had here shooting in tight groupings by the 5th mag.

On another note... Took the sales team out to the range on Friday for lunch to celebrate a nice new contract. One of them had a Taurus 9mm full size (not sure of the model). Not as comfortable/accurate as the Glock 17 (but close), but I was impressed with what he said he bought for $350.....

This issue is important to me and I'm ashamed to be associated with the gun degenates here.

These are killing machines not "cool" toys.

Get a grip on the reality of what you are talking about here.

JTLA, I have one of these in my house, what are your thoughts on it?

I gotta admit I feel pretty cool when I hit a tough double at the skeet range, but now I feel so juvenile I can't stand myself.

In other news I carry a walther pps - an easy to conceal single stack (doesn't 007 carry a walther? - that's pretty cool too) -oh the shame

I shot an AK-47 not too long ago.

It made me feel like a sissy girl.

When you make your purchase can you update us? I am in the same boat as you looking around for a handgun that is safe and priced not to crazy

Will do.

Haven't had time to get back to the local dealer and test the HK or M&P. I've been able to find the HK for around $600 online ($120 less than dealer price), but I'm not sure how that process works.

JTLA, you're entitled to your thoughts and opinion. I agree with some of what you've said. But this isn't the thread for that discussion. It's a constitutional right to own a firearm and people should be allowed to discuss their possessions openly and freely without the anti-gun crowd trying to make them feel like a mass murderer.

They are probably more deadly than the Easter Bunny, Buckeye fans in Ann Arbor, or any of irishpat's black friends, as well...

You will have to have the weapon shipped to a local FFL dealer and they usually charge a feel for the background. My local shop charges $25 for FFL transfers.

Thanks. I'll have to look into it. Especially since there's a big price difference. Is there a way to make sure the gun purchased online is legit? I always worry about scams.

Everyone thinks they are an above average driver.
Everyone thinks they are a safe gun owner.

The reality is that you are just a statistic. You make mistakes. You get drunk. You get depressed. You forget that you left something unlocked. You mistake someone for something else. Your behavior actually changes because you know you have a deadly weapon at your disposal. You are much more likely to engage in confrontation and much more likely to be distrustful of others. You are also a target because others may or will know that you have these valuable weapons in your home. These are just facts. You are not special. You are not an above average driver. Everyone gets in accidents.

We simply don't have a nationwide epidemic of people killing themselves or other people with bats, shovels, chainsaws, axes, rat poison, or even soap.

By contrast, children are killed or injured by guns everyday in this country.
Children Killed/Injured in 2016 | Gun Violence Archive

In fact, toddlers are more deadly than Isis in this country. They kill people with guns on average about once a week.

But tell me more about this soap story, I'm sure it's really important and relevant.

JTLA, if you'd like to make a case for gun prohibition, you're welcome to do so in the Politics thread (or by starting a new thread, if you'd you prefer). But it's off-topic here.

Keep in mind that you're going to earn yourself a vacation very quickly if you can't address dissenting opinions without resorting to language like "fucking disgusting", "feeble-brained", and "sickening".

Gunbroker.com is like eBay where the sellers have a feedback score.
I've purchased a few from there with good results.

The company will have to call the shop to get their FFL number. I only have ordered from the manufacturer and Buds Gunshop online site.

Gunbroker.com is the site I've been researching. I'll continue to shop around. I just have a problem paying $720 in store, locally, when everyone I've talked to has suggested looking online because the VP9 goes for $600-$650. That extra hundo buys a decent amount of range rounds.

I believe gunbroker is a reputable site.

This is who I use as well. If I can find a comparable price, I always purchase locally but their prices are hard to beat sometimes.

I've used cheaper than dirt with good results...its been a few years and as of late I hear bad things, so I'd skip them.

I've used Bud's...pretty easy, and IIRC they have financing promotions from time to time like 6mos SAC.

Used Gunbroker for specialty stuff...worked fine.

I also used AuctionArms now ammoland.com...they were ok...don't like their site.

On a different note...everybody see this?

Say hello to my little friends. Custom 1911s, carbon fiber is sexy. My gunsmith does pretty awesome work.

BTW, all my guns are locked up in safes. I strictly shoot target and free hand competition.

Sorry for sounding cocky, but this was the intention of this thread right? To show off.

Why is that?

I can respect you not liking all weapons, some weapons, some aspect of A weapon...totally your call. I can respect you having an opinion, and posting it.

Your approach though...I can't figure out if you are trying to give everyone an object lesson on the irrational/emotional behavior of anti-gun folks...either way, thats how its going.
