They really need to patch the pinballing ball in the air and crazy pitches.
I personally hate that whenever I get hit around the time I'm throwing the ball, it goes straight to the nearest guy in zone coverage. And I say around the time I'm throwing the ball because I swear my throws get affected when the ball should've already been out.

Just beat GT to go 7-0 with ND in Dynasty. Strange game to say the least as they gave me the hardest time defensively as I gave up 38 points but I put up 68 on them. What made the game so weird was that Leonard was only 9 - 15 155 YDS 3 TD. They couldn't stop the run and all 4 RBs went over 100. All the RBs are studs but Love and Young seem like a cheat code.

Can't lie, this game has been ridiculously disappointing.

The main thing being the insanely limited player customization features. Yeah, I get not being able to edit NIL players' name, image and likeness, so can't change their positions, number of how they look, but you should be able to edit their ratings. And why no create a player for dynasty or being able to edit recruits? It's kind of stupid that after 2-3 years when all the NIL players are gone, you're left with auto-generated recruits with un-editable stats, names, numbers. I gotta love my starting QB wearing #56.

Overall, dynasty mode is a complete f*cking trainwreck.

A big reason why NCAA was so successful was because of the large sandbox where you can effectively shape the world in your image.

And I don't buy the whole NIL laws limiting player customization. There are several ways around that. And right now, if I wanted to add Gabe Rubio to the roster (he's not on it), I can. So what exactly are the railguards for NIL lawsuits? Just flag optout names, and limit image and name customization for NIL players, but make it so you can edit their ratings, because who cares if some random schmo makes Ben Morrison a 99 when he's the best corner in the country already. It's just nonsense.

Gameplay wise, they really need to fix the pursuit and the player switch controls need major tweaking. The in-game looks great, but they also need to make the running animation look less robotic. Every one of my big runs looks like Forrest Gump is running the ball.

Anyone else having trouble playing defense? If you’ve figured defense out, what do you run? I’m struggling

Anyone else having trouble playing defense? If you’ve figured defense out, what do you run? I’m struggling

I'm starting to figure it out.

On first down, I'm controlling an interior DL and using the stick to shed to the left or right depending on where the run's going. Usually calling Cover-1, because if it's a pass, you can switch your interior LB's hook zone to a QB spy. I've found the spy is actually better for keeping your interior LB's home for the run, but the spy also covers the crossing routes better than the hook zone.

I run a shitload of Cover 4 and Cover 6 when it gets to third down. Cover four keeps your deep defenders at the sticks, and the Cover 6 buzz zone is helpful if your CB's are good. I'm using a DE and using speed rush or block shed to try and speed up the opposing QB. I've also found that pinching the DL in on 3rd-and-long helps with getting to the QB, even if he's a mobile threat. You can use an outside swim on your side to help contain as you pinch the rush inward, and the CPU DE on the other side will do the same generally.

Then I'm using the old-school button switch to get to the closest pass defender and try to make a play on the ball. Cannot for the life of me master the switch stick. It's just not intuitive when you're using old school button-switch pre-play.

Oddly enough, playing on All American, BenMo is often out of position regardless of coverage. He still ended up with 8 pics on the year, but I had 11 (!) interceptions with Gray on the opposite side. He's really good at breaking on the ball with his player skills.

My next goal is figuring out how to actually *finish* the pass-rush. Bryce Young should've had like 7 sacks for me as a rush-package end, but the CPU QB will roll out of trouble pretty smoothly, and diving for a tackle almost never works. Not sure how to finish with using the standard tackle buttons. It doesn't work the same way strafing and tackling does with LB's and DB's in the open field.

I’m in an online dynasty with my friends (on AA difficulty) and find this game to be infuriating to the point where I may quit.

Gameplay:
  1. Every DB regardless of team is Ed Reed. If you call a pass play down play then your routes automatically get jumped. This is practically unavoidable without perfect execution because it results in an immediate pick.
  2. Contrast that, I’ve had multiple CPU QBs go entire games against me without an incompletion and my guys set up to defend obvious pass situations. Stopping a CPU 2 min drill is near impossible.
  3. Glitchy bullshit plays every game - scoop and scores, blowing the top off the pass defenses consistently, and inexplicable long runs (I’ve seen 6 tackles broken by CPU and an 85 yarder to end the half against a prevent defense).
  4. Sim’ing games or drives is not practical - auto scores by CPU on 90% of drives.
  5. Option mechanics - why oh why did they change the Read Option controls from every other football game? RPOs are fun but the read basically needs to be presnap or you get an ineligible receiver penalty, not sure how realistic this is.
Program Building:
  1. Generally pretty shallow? Idk they didn’t seem to add anything to adjust to the modern recruiting dynamics.
  2. Recruiting menus are generally shit to navigate.
  3. Conference realignment is not workable given that schedules don’t adjust.
  4. In season rankings are broken.
  5. Player progression and development also broken - you can have a breakout season with a freshman and their rating will only jump 2-4 pts in the off season.

The novelty wore off unfortunately. I will stick to Play Now mostly because casual games are fun and they generally nailed the stadium environments.

I've wondered how much of this is tied into your coach's skill tree and a player's natural ability. Much like Madden, players seem to be labeled as either Normal development, Impact, or Superstar (I can't remember the actual names). I noticed that some of my players definitely jumped more than others in the offseason, but I didn't do a good job of tracking which ones had the good traits. In my 3rd season I'm trying to start more Impact players or Superstars to see if they progress faster.

The game loves Burnham for some reason.

Not to say he won’t turn out to be an impact player, but Bryce Young was a borderline 5-star recruit by the end of the real-life recruiting cycle…

But after my first dynasty season, Burnham got a +8 overall from training, while Young only got a +4.

I’m wondering if it’s also tied to the class they’re in, where rising juniors get a better boost than rising sophomores, and rising seniors get the best boost. Won’t really know until I complete season two I guess, but I’m sure others that are farther in on a dynasty might be able to confirm.

Just won the National Championship with ND over Georgia 41-31. Morrison with 3 INT with a pick 6and player of the game as well as defensive player of the year. Price was the Heismen.

The ND RBs are so good that in the NC game Riley was only 11-17 142 and no TDs because price ran for 135 and 2 TDs and Love ran 175 and 2 TDs.

What runs plays are you running to rack up that type of yardage?

Love is an absolute beast in the game.
I lost Love for 9 weeks this season (my 2nd) and had to totally change my offensive approach. CJ Carr averaging 370 a game. Love was a cheat code.

they nerfed the FCS teams due to y'all being soft millennials

This made me sad:
- reduced the number of unrecruited 4 and 5 stars early in the season

Anyone else found that Cam Williams as a sophomore is an absolute cheat code? 97 Spd and 98 ACC in my ND dynasty, year two.

Any time there's a single high safety or press coverage, dude is open deep. Using the "RAC" animation is almost a cheese on it's own when you have a burner at wideout and there's no help over top.

This is Madden lol. I built up a Speed Rusher on my team, he would consistently blow by LTs like this all the time. I was breaking my own Sack record each season, and ended up getting into the Top 5 in Sacks for a career. Pissed my buddies off anytime I would play them. Would have eventually been #1, but the Franchise died. They really did just take the Madden engine and throw a college paint job on it.

They had 3 years to get this game close to playing right and have failed miserably...we need competition with EA to prevent them from just churning out overpriced garbage with 4 patches every year.

Speak for yourself. It’s a blast and a half and I’m having a ton of fun playing pretty much all the game modes including ultimate team

Anyone else notice the weird swaying by the defense on field goals and XPs? Also, occasionally the selected player will just stand straight up before the snap on these snaps

Noticed it since the patch
