It definitely is, Lester is from my hometown and he'll have success at Iowa and recruiting in the Midwest. His offenses at WMU were all pretty good besides his final year![]()
Social media reacts to news that Iowa is hiring Tim Lester as its next OC
After 90 days had elapsed since Beth Goetz announced Brian Ferentz wouldn't return as the Hawkeyes' offensive coordinator in 2024, Iowa finally has its next offensive coordinator. Former Western Michigan head coach Tim Lester is set to take over thehawkeyeswire.usatoday.com
Feels like a fit.

Why would Al Golden take the BC job? He’s about to make 2.5m as a DC with a head coach who takes a lot of pressure off recruiting wise. He’s gotta a really sweet gig at ND. If they lose him it’s to the NFL

Al Washington on the short list per this writer’s speculation. Great for him if he can pull that off
That isn’t the Al I would've bet on.

100% agreed. I think conference realignment also has to be factored into this too, especially with Boston College being in the ACC, which could be the next one to see a major shift.Unfortunately, we're going to see more and more high quality coaches leaving college for NFL. Until college football puts someone in charge, revamps the calendar, and puts enforceable regulations around NIL and transfer portal, we shouldn't be surprised about moves like this. If the money is comparable, the quality of life for NFL coaches is a joyride compared to college.
The man had to deal with 5 Star Phil, do you blame him?![]()
Packers hire Boston College's Jeff Hafley as defensive coordinator
The Green Bay Packers have hired Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley as their new defensive coordinator, the team announced Wednesday.www.espn.com
"He wants to go coach football again in a league that is all about football," a source told ESPN. "College coaching has become fundraising, NIL and recruiting your own team and transfers. There's no time to coach football anymore.”
The SEC never over thought it during the shift to "holier than thou" culture.I appreciate to some degree that the SEC is so blatant about the lack of fucks to give. The conference employees Freeze, Durkin, and Petrino, not even taking into account the basketball sliminess with the likes of Chris Beard.

Maybe he realized he only had 1 year left at BC anyways? But I don't remember the last time a P5 head coach made the transition to become a coordinator, even for the NFLVery much out of nowhere for sure.
Green Bay interviewed Brandon Staley and it ended up with "Fuck it, who is the head coach at Boston College. Let's hire him instead."
LOL
The opportunity has to present itself. For Hafley it did and he bailed.Maybe he realized he only had 1 year left at BC anyways? But I don't remember the last time a P5 head coach made the transition to become a coordinator, even for the NFL
He was just hired as OSUs OCBill O'Brien could do really well at BC, if he's interested. Have no idea if he wants to go back to college, though.
