I think Eli is a great coach to stabilize a program but not one to win the cfp. I don’t think he has the recruiting chops without “paying” themI don't think Day leaves OSU for A&M- the only way Day sees his seat get warmer is if he loses to Michigan today. During this year's game the OSU fan behind me wasn't happy with Day, but he wins at OSU and I could see OSU giving him $ to stay. I think Jimbo put A&M in rebound mode, would Day want to coach in that type of situation?
For Freeman's case he has to show me more for him to be considered for another HC job, I truly think he loves it at ND, he gets ND and ND would do what they could to keep him. I don't think Elko could handle the ND spotlight he is a pass for me.
Stoops at Kentucky is like Ferentz at Iowa. Silly to give that gig up.
Ironically their most successful HC in recent times has been the one guy they didn’t go outside the program to hire.I'd never want to coach at a&m. They have a lot of investment and a lot of commitment, but not a lot of patience. It'd be several years of stress and burnout followed by being fired for not winning championships at a school that, for whatever reasons, hasn't won one in a very long time.
That last sentence made me laugh.I think Eli is a great coach to stabilize a program but not one to win the cfp. I don’t think he has the recruiting chops without “paying” them
He’s not recruiting well at duke, a similar place as nd with their stance around nil.
He’s done decently at UK considering he’s at a bball school and trying to recruit against Tenn, UGA, Bama, etc.Thamel reporting that Mark Stoops is emerging as a major candidate for A&M.
Michigan St hired Jonathon Smith from Oregon St
TrueTaking The MSU job when ND, OSU, Michigan, and PSU are up feels like an incredibly tough gig.
Don’t agree on nil similarities between Duke and nd?That last sentence made me laugh.
Except it’s his alma mater. Obviously he did it for the cash.True
But no reason to stay at Oregon state at this point
Oregon State got screwed in realignment. That's why he's leaving.Except it’s his alma mater. Obviously he did it for the cash.
And opportunity… Oregon state football is screwedExcept it’s his alma mater. Obviously he did it for the cash.

That really is too bad. He has done an awesome job at Oregon St. He's an alumnus there. It's a shame he had no choice but to leave. The NCAA should be ashamed of what they've done to Oregon St. and Wash. St. Those teams have earned a spot in a Power 5 conference. They play better football than the majority of the Big Ten.Michigan St hired Jonathon Smith from Oregon St
Michigan State football hires Oregon State's Jonathan Smith as next head coach

Agreed but expectations will be lowTaking The MSU job when ND, OSU, Michigan, and PSU are up feels like an incredibly tough gig.
