If you're Lincoln Riley, why would you go to Philly? Roseman has fired 2 coaches now for personality clashes and is clearly a major reason why the team isn't doing well.

Lincoln Riley should be able to have a nice long career at OU. It pays competitively and is a good program. Why leave?

Would Riley feel confident hitching his wagon to Jalen Hurts would be a interesting private convo

Good point. Even if talks go nowhere, Philly getting Riley's perspective could inform how they play the QB situation.

And that’s why bama is always good. They hire experienced good coaches for coordinators.

Yup, and will back up the truck. ND has no excuse for not doing the same. We should have the highest bankroll for "analysts" and assistants out there to offset our self imposed barriers.

Anyone follow the Kevin Steele Tennessee hire closer? The apparent coup with boosters to take the Auburn job I’m sure didn’t sit well with some in the industry but hired to Tennessee with the title “defensive assistant” is.....odd? Speculation of hiring freeze due to investigation, place holder till something with Pruitt and more is why, reported salary is much lower, lot of bizarre talk thrown around.

Lots of possibilities IMO. They could be pulling a Bama and simply hiring Tier 1 type assistants.

The investigation might be done and Pruitt either found innocent (and allowed to hire), or Fulmer has already made the decision to fire Pruitt (doubt they would have hired Steele prior to a new HC if Pruitt was fired).

Given their history coaching together (both at Bama together), going to guess Pruitt is safe, and he's just hiring a buddy.

Do you know the pay? Thought I read somewhere that it was $450K per year. That was interesting to me for two reasons. The recent BB lawsuits from Arkansas on offsets and how he was compensated in New England. I don't know if Steele had offset provisions or not. The other is that I thought Steele would have been able to land elsewhere as a DC. He didn't get fired per se, the school made a HC change. Didn't think he would have to go the assistant route. But again, he may just want to have a "light year" and still get paid by Auburn to recharge the batteries.

That is why I say ND need to go all out for Tom Herman.

I love Reesus.... but Herman has an f'ing track record of production. That'd be dope. But it ain't happening.

Really...at the end of the day I miss Jimmy Clausen. Any of the recent ND coordinators would unleash the beast.

Rest in Power Jimmy.

Yup, I saw. I just figured he would collect big money from Auburn, and TN would get a cheap assistant/analyst courtesy of an SEC West foe lol. I have zero idea of what his relationship is with Pruitt, but I'd guess if they're buds, that's what is happening.

Tennessee really is a cluster right now. They have got to make a very good hire for their next coach. Not sure Fulmer is capable of that but he may get lucky.

I agree. I would not bet money on Riley leaving for Philly. I would bet money that Riley is about to get a nice contract extension on top of what he’s already signed up for in Norman.

Give Lea credit, he’s making the best of this opportunity. Gotta assume Denbrock would be getting a considerable bump in pay or why go for the job in the first place? I mean he’s at a wining program that sets itself apart from the rest of the G5 IMO.

He is very adept at recruiting to academic schools (10 yrs at ND & 1 yr at Stanford). Nashville is a great place to live. He still has great regard for ND so I suspect Lea heard good things about him from mutual contacts.

Haven’t heard that name in awhile. Big time star LB at Auburn back in the day.
