Back in the mid 70s my HS buddies and I would play a board game called Bowl Bound, which had charts of some of the historically great college football teams. Teams would have charts with offensive plays on one side and defenses on the other, you would play one side or the other depending who had the ball. You would roll dice and look at the cross reference to get the result of plays. IIRC, there was a chart for the 1951 Maryland team, who were undefeated. They must have had some great teams in the early 50s if they also won the title in 53. I think I still have that game in a box somewhere in my basement. The best chart was 1966 Notre Dame, the defensive chart was all negative numbers. No matter what your opponent rolled when they were on offense, they were always thrown for a loss. Great game if you wanted to play historical match ups like 66 Notre Dame vs 45 Army

Yep,... I have custom interchangeable fields,... 50 plus teams, a working league that goes back to the 70's (my father started it and I continue it). I'm actually at my title game right now,... just been putting it off.

The bases they use now are much better and the tweaking of the prongs etc make it so the players do whatever you want them to do within reason (DE's loop towards the QB, QB's are stable in the pocket or set to scramble.... run backs run straight, safeties cover zones etc,...
