Sounds like Saban12.5 mil for what? What did Day actually do? OSU bought the roster, one of the best OCs in college football, one of the best DCs in college football. All ryan day had to do was stand on the sideline and let everyone else coach and play.
YesIs this real?
Nice flexSorry I just got back from church and working out and I'm a little behind
If the last few years have shown us anything it’s that anybody can be poached from. I think it has a lot to do with how much the perceived value of G5 coaching gigs has gone down. You don’t see top position assistants jumping to go be OCs/DCs in the G5 anymore. The lateral move for a pay raise is the new upward mobilityI guess there's so much money sloshing around that programs are throwing huge pay bumps for proven guys - and some, like Murray, may worry their head coach is on hot seat with a short trigger - but it feels like there are more lateral moves of assistants among major programs than in the past.
That’s a good point. Even a few years ago you’d see a well-regarded position coach like Lance Taylor go down the CFB food chain (ND to Louisville) to become a coordinator, and down again (Louisville to Western Michigan) to become a head coach. If the last few years have shown us anything it’s that anybody can be poached from. Working for Mike Locksley would scare me a lot.The defensive coordinator opening at Maryland scares me a little
On the other hand, what does it say about Mickens if he doesn't even get consideration from a program like Maryland? The defensive coordinator opening at Maryland scares me a little
Right but how much longer is Maryland gonna wait for Locksley to make Maryland a winner? This may be a make or break year for him.On the other hand, what does it say about Mickens if he doesn't even get consideration from a program like Maryland?
Has Maryland ever been a winner?Right but how much longer is Maryland gonna wait for Locksley to make Maryland a winner? This may be a make or break year for him.
They had some good years under Fridge before they forgot they were Maryland and canned him and now they’re cursed forever as a result.Has Maryland ever been a winner?
I was being slightly facetious but actually, yeah, going back to 1985 they've finished ranked exactly four times - three of which were Friedgen's first three years - and they've had far more 2-and-3-win seasons than 10-win seasons. They had some good years under Fridge before they forgot they were Maryland and canned him and now they’re cursed forever as a result.
Bruh that's the 1953 National Champions you're talking about. I'm sure a few of the posters here remember that team.Has Maryland ever been a winner?
