I wonder who is gonna land that Cowboys job? If it's a college guy like Lincoln Riley, or hell even BK, it will be interesting to see the dominoes fall.

Garrett is likely gone unless the Cowboys make the NFC championship game.

I believe that college coaches like Riley, Kelly, Meyer, Saban, etc. really are better off staying in college ranks unless they just have a burning desire to coach in the NFL. They make great money($4-$8M/year) and many of them have complete control over their operations (Kelly not among them). In Dallas that wouldn't be the case.

Wonder if Stoops might be waiting in the wings for Cowboys gig?

Agree. For being the same basic sport, head coaching in college and the NFL require rather different skill sets. And while some guys - Pete Carroll, for instance - seem able to succeed in either, others - Nick Saban - do not.

Then in Dallas you've also got a particularly "involved" owner to manage, and a fan base with Expectations. It'd be a tough job.

Here in Dallas haven't heard Meyer mentioned much for the Cowboys gig, hear him mentioned more for UT (but Hermann probably gets at least 1 more year, if not 2). Of all the college coaches, he seems most likely to go the pro route to me. Nothing else to prove at college level, and a bit tainted for most programs in today's environment.

Garrett pretty much wrote his ticket out of town after yesterday's meltdown. Has to win out now to have any chance, with road games vs Bears and Eagles. Don't see anyone on staff that would take his spot.
Stoops is the current Dallas Renegades coach, so he;s already chosen the pro route and is close to the action being here in Dallas. Would think he could have job if wanted.

Don’t know who Ryan Hunsadar is but he’s saying Meyer will be hired within the week.

I've been adamant that they wouldn't hire Meyer given everything that's happened. If they do, Meyer is the greatest salesman ever.

BC is delusional if they think its an easy upgrade from Addazio, he got them to where they played everybody tough. Except Clemson, but you would have to fire every coach in the ACC if that's your criteria.
