For Kenny Williams to pull this off and not fuck it up it's a got damn miracle in itself.

Happy for Sale, happy with the haul. Now my toddler has a chance to see a good Sox team when she starts college.

My Sox (the Red ones) def needed another top-of-the-line starter. But people here seem more upset about losing Machado than excited about getting Sale, fwiw.

Silly. When you're close, you buy the arms. And you bought a Top 5 one. It wouldn't surprise me if he wins a Cy Young or two, especially next year when you guys might have to run him out as a #3. He'll destroy #3's with a good offense behind him.

From a White Sox fan, there has always been concern regarding Sale's health, simply because of his style of pitching and his delivery.

In his prime, healthy, Sale is easily one of the best pitchers in the league, and I'd say the best southpaw in the AL.

This is late, but the White Sox signed Cuban young hitter Luis Robert. 19 years old. The rumor is that St Louis offered more money, but the Sox had the personnel relationships that swayed him. Given they're the only team in the league with a Hispanic manager, along with fellow Cuban Abreu on the team, and Moncada soon to join, makes a lot of sense. The comfort level won over a few extra bucks.

But in terms of the White Sox rebuild, needless to say, while slightly risky, it's a massive signing. He's still young but the dude has superstar potential. Pair him with Moncada and you have two young Cubans who can take the league by storm. Crazy how in 5 years, the Sox went from arguably the worst farm system, to a mediocre one to arguably the best farm system.

Now we just have to hope the kids pan out.

The big question is what do you do with avi now? If he really his figured it out, he'd still be in his prime when the prospects are ready.

I hate rebuilds because most teams that rebuild are stuck in perpetual rebuild mode. Hopefully things go more the way of recent cubs/Yankees rebuilds and less like Milwaukee brewers rebuilds.

Going to see the boys the next three games here in AZ. First time I've caught a 3 game set since the 2000 season.

Hes 25 right now and technically in his 2nd full season of MLB play. I don't think there is anything you have to do with him right now at all. He is still young and developing. Just keep doing what he is doing right now and keep progressing. Sanchez is 24 etc. They both are playing super hot. Tim Anderson 23, who by the way, is starting to heat up as well. These are all young guys with a new culture at the sox learning to play together. Its good to see that no matter what each game they are playing strongly to the end as well. I like the hustle i have seen.

Good read on Avi.

Timmy up to .264 while quietly hitting .400 in the last week.

The culture shift is a welcome change. Hopefully it all comes together in the future for these guys...

Greinke sent a message back to Chicago last night that went something like...

Dear Theo,

In the event we tank before the deadline, Greinke is yours for Happ/Biaz & Cease. If you have any questions ask the White Sox line up.

Signed,

D-Backs Front Office.

Ya he's a stud thats for sure, but that's one hefty contract for an already aging rotation on the cubs. That is their achilles, old pitchers.

Just my luck. I go last night and watch Greinke mow our lawn, skip tonight because tomorrow is a businessman's special and what happens... a great game breaks out.

If it weren't for bad luck...

I'd be okay with that, but only if the Yankees throw in 1-2 other mid-tier prospects just for good measure. The Sox can always use more depth in the field.

But even so, can you imagine an in-field comprised of Moncada, Anderson and Torres, along with hopefully landing a big-hitter in the draft that can man 1st?

Combine that with the insane amount of pitching talent they have in the farm, and then you have Robert, a few high-potential outfielders and a Avi Garcia who appears to have finally turned the corner.

Perhaps my dreams aren't too far from reality.

Bryant had Schwarber hitting in front of him for a huge chunk of the season. Kinda hard to drive him in when he's batting .170.
