A Mark Buehrle Sox is the only jersey I ever bought with a player's name on it.
For any sport.

BTW- I loved Hawk.

You would have had a Butkus and a Payton had you not freaked out and pulled that stunt with the NJ Jets.

Another blockbuster trade by Hahn. Sending Q to the Cubs, which I can't believe happened, but the return of Jimenez and Cease are worth it for now. Don't sleep on Flete who is .299 hitter 2 years in High A.

Sounds like this deal was the back up for Q to NYY for Gleybar Torres and Clint Frazier. The #2 and #17 prospects in the minors. Instead the Sox get the #8 (Jimenez) and #63 (Cease) prospects plus as you noted about Flete, he's a + prospect and Rose is a young/big first baseman with power.

If the Sox move Moncada to 3B, Flete might be the guy of the future if Sanchez doesn't keep improving. Gleybar Torres is a great prospect but Anderson is the SS of today and tomorrow. I love Jimenez. You can see a title contender forming in the Sox farm system and that's if only HALF of their pitchers... Kopech, Giolito, Lopez, Fulmer & Cease pan out to their projected spots in the rotation.

Don't look now but the Sox have 9 guys in the top 68 prospects per MLB.

Is it 2019 yet?

Moncada from everything I have read has been playing solely 2B.. Start cross training him now, or Basabe. It is nice to have a deep farm system for a change. I don't think NYY was ever going to give up both prospects, but one and then change. Torres is a stud, but having that surgery gives me doubts. Frazier is also good but seems like an asshat. I am most excited about Reynaldo Lopez of all the minor leaguers, followed by whoever Kopech is now tagging. His current GF, mercy!

Now, onto, Frazier, Melky, Robertson, and for Big James to take a buy out and retire.

Moncada and Jimenez in the same batting order? Lord.

Wonder if the reported interest the Brewers had prompted this. Hahn called Theo Sunday morning and basically got this rolling. Theo calls Hahn on Tuesday while he's at the All Star Game and basically says they want in. Cubs look like they're in desperation mode with this, but right now it looks like a great deal for both sides.

Rick Hahn's shackles have been taken off. He's doing what should have been done a while ago. The haul he's acquired between trades and the last couple of drafts have been massive. The Nationals need bullpen help and he has it. Don't know what Cabrera and Frazier would yield in return, but dump them no matter what. Worst record in the AL and a top five draft pick are in sight now.

Now Jerry Reinsdorf will move the team to Havana, Cuba unless he gets lakefront property to build a new stadium. Mayor Wreck It Rahm, Lord Speaker Madigan and Govenor Carhartt Jacket have been given notice!

They can leave for wherever after the win the '20 & '21 World Series.

Then I can switch to the Cubs and settle in to retirement with 3 WS titles and whatever magic Theo can cast for my new team.

Illinois governors go to prison so often that the guys in office wear prison gear just for practice.

This is amazing. It's going to be torture the rest of the season and next, but the march to the #1 overall pick is intact.

3 of the top 11 prospects in baseball, 9 of the top 68. Who is this team?

Now get Robertson, Melky, and Frazier out of here ASAP.

Congrats on getting Jimenez. He'll be a good one. Cease has a good heater but he's still just playing A ball, we'll see what he does to improve. After watching them play 70 times last season, Flete and Rose are pretty unimpressive. Flete has more potential than Rose; as long as Rizzo is a Cub, Rose would never see the field for the Cubs

Quintana will be good for the Cubs and his arm is much needed. The rotation got a lot better.

Fcking love this trade for the White Sox's. Really wanted Torres but I'll take Jimenez. Now just need to dump Robertson, Abreu and Fraizer

Did you mean someone besides Abreu? I personally can't see why anyone would want to get rid of him. His ratio of salary to production is good, FOR NOW.

I'm just saying it's a major rebuild and we can get something good for him so why not let him go? I say load up on all the prospects you can.

IIRC, Abreu opted out, so there is that, but his value has tanked. He is a solid piece to build around, so long as he is happy enough to consider staying.

Please don't mess with the OG Cubano until the two shorites are happy and settled in with Papi.

16 months ago, the White Sox were dealing with all of the Adam LaRoche "I won't send my kid to school" nonsense. The rebuild seemed to have started then.

That Drake LaRoche is the straw that stirs the drink, let me tell you...

And keep bringing Cuban helpers.

Frazier and Cabrera come off the books for them after this year. No one wants Melky Cabrera because he sucks. No one will rent Frazier unless the Sox pay his salary for the next two months, so there's that.

They'll find a taker for Robertson. He has been effective and there is no reason for him to be on the White Sox right now. He's owed $13M in 2018. Nationals, perhaps the Yankees, can use the help. Sox may also throw in Swarzak or Kahnle for someone that really needs pen help (Nationals, I'm looking at you).

Here is my mock 2020 starters in the field.. Not getting into batting order yet or DH! Sox could have 2 legit starting rotations, but some will move to the pen.

1B - Abreu/Sheets
SS - Tim Anderson
2B - Moncada/Basabe
3B - Burger/Moncada
CF - Luis Robert
RF - Eloy Yimenez
LF - Avi/Basabe/Alex Call
C - Zack Collins
SP - Reynaldo Lopez

Rotation I think would be
Lopez
Giolito
Rodon
Dunning
Kopech - Possible Closer

Melky doesn't suck. His $15M contract sucks. Anyone who bats .286 (both this year and over a 13 year career) doesn't suck, regardless of their defensive shortcomings. He's just too expensive at full price for those that need a proven stick. If the Sox said they'd pick up $5M or the $7.5M he's owed for the second half, he'd be a target... same as Frazier. Hahn's waiting to see if injuries or circumstance change the market but don't be surprised if the Sox pay them to leave and play some prospects on the fight for the #2-#5 pick.
