We'll see. I'm still pretty skeptical since, while we have won 7 straight (hoping for 8 with Sale on the mound), it has been against Cleveland and Boston, two cellar dwellers. Though I suppose it's nice beating the cellar dwellers rather than being the cellar dweller.

agree but they have been dominate wins like you should against bad teams. Seeing guys hit finally has been exciting.. I have a cautious optimism . Now with the Price deal, this will be fun to watch regardless.

Just saw a tweet from a couple Sox media guys (Padilla & Garfien) that Hahn has been inquiring to acquire another bat. Specifically, he's been talking with DET about acquiring Cespedes.

Another Cuban, but at what price and who do you sit? If they can ditch Laroche, it makes sense because he can DH or they can platoon the DH.. The outfield is too loaded right now. Also, how much do you give up? A division rival is going to make you pay for him, probably in arms.

This. This streak has included hitting to go along with the outstanding pitching. These guys are finally starting to hit the groove we thought they would.

Brutal stretch coming up though.

Lots of games at home though. The interesting thing will be to see how they bounce back once the winning streak is over. Will they win or lose two/three?

That's what I'm afraid of. This team has been really streaky all year. They'll win a few games in a row, and then follow it up with an even longer losing streak. Pray that isn't the case this time. I'd probably go nuts if we kept Shark and then went on to lose 9 straight.

As partially expected, back to the typical sucky baseball. Just when they show a glimmer of hope, they suck you back into the harsh reality that they're a bunch of f*cking buffoons who love to play WELL BELOW their capabilities. What makes things a million times worse though is now Sale is starting to play like hot garbage too.

and he got out of it :)

and has settled down nicely. I'll need a lot of games like this to help me forget Hulk Schwarber.

Trayce Thompson went deep. His sibling might be a Splash Brother but tonight Trayce one upped him as a Smash Brother.

This day just continues to get worse. Q and Shark get lit up on back to back days? Ventura should have been fired yesterday (or better yet, 2 months ago).

Rumor has it a video will air tonight proving without a doubt Kane is guilty, and Derrick Rose had his left leg amputated earlier today.

This just in, Cutler signed to 20 year 600 million dollar extension, all guaranteed. Kenny Williams and Robin Ventura have also been extended through 2050, and we received word earlier that 50 of our current 85 scholarship players were ruled academically ineligible. Justin Yoon set to start...at Nose Tackle.

Just read Schwarbs was hit with beer cans last night. Still keeping it classy on the south side, I see.

Does Sale go tonight?

Please. Cub fans did the exact same thing to AJ in the second game of the 2006 series at Wrigley, except they also decided to delay the game for 10 minutes by filling the outfield with beer cups/cans too.

Sox fans haven't been going to any games the last few years, so it was more likely a Cubs or Cards fan who threw it.

A little late, but it's vent time:

Arguably the most disappointing team in White Sox history. I have never hated watching a team don the black and white as I do with this pathetic squad. So much talent. So much F*CKING talent! And somehow they use that talent sh*t the bed for 86 games.

How is it that you add Jeff Samardzija, Melky Cabrera, Adam LaRoche, David Robertson, Zach Duke, Avi Garcia and Carlos Rodon, and yet it yields you only a 3 game improvement? That essentially means each of those players accounted for less than half a win separately. That is unacceptable.

This season was the boiling point of 7 years...SEVEN YEARS, without a playoff birth. Which I'm sure most Sox fans could tolerate, because "hey, the Cubs still suck". Well guess what Kenny? Guess what Jerry? Rick? Robin? The Cubs don't suck anymore. They took an equally or less talented team than yours and won 21 more games than you.

Add to the fact that new additions the Cubs made actually improved and contributed to the winning product. What the hell did our new guys do? Absolutely NOTHING!

I don't expect a world series title every single season, or hell, I don't expect us to be consistent playoff contenders. But no playoffs for SEVEN YEARS!? 1 birth in a decade, 3 over the course of 20 years. We're basically talking 1 playoff appearance per 7 years. That is not acceptable.

This kind of stuff is reserved for expansion teams, but you're an ORIGINAL AMERICAN LEAGUE TEAM! Why not try acting like it?

Um yeah. I'm sorry, but there was guys on this team that played well under their capability. The Cubs were seen as good or slightly less talented than the White Sox going into the season. That's what good managing does for a team.

Chris Sale, Jose Abreu, Jose Quintana, Melky Cabrera, Avi Garcia, Jeff Samardzija, Carlos Rodon, there's quite a bit of talent on this squad.

That's where good managing can improve a teams chances of success (Cubs), and where bad managing can drastically hurt a teams chances (Sox).

There's a big reason why experts were picking the White Sox. Chemistry was an issue, but Ventura made so many grievous managing mistakes and overall was just an awful in-game and locker room manager. Nobody in that locker room bought into Ventura, because he's a horrible motivator and crappy manager. What's there to buy into? Madden on the other hand, has a history of turning a crappy team into a consistent playoff contender. Sound familiar?

The fact that he's coming back for another year after 3 losing seasons is just sickening.

Nope. Not even f'ing close. I admire the fact that you're a total homer and love your team but to say that the 2015 White Sox had as much or more talent than the 2015 Cubs is just dumb.

I can agree with his statement based solely on the premise of proven talent. The Cubs roster was filled with guys at the beginning of the year, or with guys at the AAA that had been lauded as having tons of potential, but it hadn't been recognized. The guys on the Southside were proven veteran players. I don't think anyone could argue that the Cubs ceiling was/is much higher than the CWS ceiling, IF their talent played to potential...which their young guns obviously did.

Which to me, is the main issue. The Cubs, much like the Royals, have grown their team through their farm system. The Sox consistently trade away prospects from their languishing farm system to add big-time veterans who flame out and get no ROI. I'll never shed the black and white pinstripes, but when your front office keeps a manager that has the passion and charisma (not to mention managerial ability) of my desk chair, that wears on you. From the top down, the Northsiders are the best organization in Chicago right now and it really isn't even close. And for a Sox fan, who could always claim "well at least we play good baseball on the Southside" now we don't even have that. Burn it down. Fire everyone. Start from scratch.

The Sox and Bears suffer from the exact same affliction: make no effort to stock young talent, "contemplate" hitting the reset button about 5 years too late (without even doing it), draft crappy, and throw money at washed up veterans to put a bandaid over the bullet hole. It's embarrassing how mismanaged these teams are. It's an endless cycle of futility I'm afraid.

It appears the Bears have finally realized they have a dog (something we have known all along), and are going to ship any piece with a shred of value in an effort to get younger and cheaper. Sure it's easier for a team that will sell out regardless of record to blow things up (Bears, Cubs), but the Sox have been spinning their wheels for a decade now, with no positive return for the money spent.
