I can’t think of one good thing Warren has done for the franchise since getting hired. Get that ass clown out of the locker room after the game also. Been a fan my entire life and just when I think the Bears organization can’t get any dumber, Kevin Warren says hold my beer.

Your neighbor played for that "trash ass team." Get it together. We need you on the frontlines and in his good graces.
Correction. My bestie realized the Bears were going to jeopardize his path to greatness since they were just holding him back and got out before they ruined his future as my neighbor and head coach of THE University Of Notre Dame.

It’s astonishing how bad Warren is at this after this is what he was hired for. Should have been fired a long time ago.
It's been over three years since he was hired. He's going to benefit from the current political climate spewing narratives out at the state legislature when the reality is the franchise was incompetent for not ironing out purchasing the Arlington Park land with the town, county and school district prior to doing so in addition to Kevin Warren's incompetence. Kevin Warren got a stadium deal done in Minneapolis for the Vikings. Not exactly a place that screams right wing bastion of business freedom. The Bears hired him to do one job.

The Bears fucked this up, and Kevin Warren hasn't done shit.

Let's not forget that within this shit show Des Moines, Iowa was actually mentioned. That's how much of a clusterfuck of a joke this has been. I'm pretty certain having lived here my entire life and having a functioning brain stem Iowa isn't part of Chicagoland. The fact that it has even come to this shows what a complete shit show at the fuck factory the Bears have turned this into. Breathe through your mouth and blame whatever political party you don't like though. Cool.

Came to say it's closer than Naperville, which everyone knows is basically Chicago
Naperville is about as white of a white suburb as you can get. Like Bravo is going to have a show there any minute. 35 miles west of the city, about as Chicagoland as Kenosha, Hammond and all the other IL suburbs.

I went to college in central Illinois. Ask someone where they're from and they say "Chicago." I'd say, "Cool. I'm from Jefferson Park. Where are you from?"

"Downers Grove."

Ok. So not really Chicago.

The Cowboys play in Arlington. The Jets and Giants play in New Jersey. Being in the suburbs or in Indiana really is not anything NFL Earth shattering as far as stadium locations go. The Bears played at Wrigley and then Soldier Field. I'm sure a lot of Boomer fans want them in the city. Doesn't really matter.

I think the lack of specificity in the site language relates to the cleanup and mitigation that would need to happen at the Wolf Lake site before they can actually build anything there, so if there is another option in Hammond, they would do that, too.

In the meantime, if Illinois makes them an offer they like, particularly in regards to the AH site, they would listen. I think anyone who expects Chicago to be an option is fooling themselves. The only Chicago option that has been put forth was the equivalent of BJ saying "Oh, sure, happy to bend over. I'll even spread my cheeks for you."

Chicago is out, but the Bears are not even a big money maker for Soldier Field. Them leaving benefits the Chicago Park District. Not to mention the Bears will have to pay millions to break the lease regardless of whether they move to Arlington Heights, Hammond or Des Moines.
Soldier Field's main revenue streams are soccer, concerts and parking. The Bears have limited games and time there even if you include preseason games and (LOL) home playoff games, which have been scarce up until this past season.

It boggles my mind that anyone would think giving tax payers the bill on this, at a time when people are really not happy with the rising costs of just about everything, is a good idea.

Warren and the Bears releasing some cockamamie statement about Hammond and then immediately calling Illinois lawmakers an hour later saying we still want to work with you is the chef’s kiss. They really understand leverage in negotiations.

They're so far from shovels in the ground anywhere at this point, Warren should not have a job. BREAKING: there isn't a For Sale sign on the Arlington Racetrack land right now. They may not even have anything built when the Soldier Field lease ends (2033?). They might still be there in ten years. They may end up staying there the way this is all going.

The Bears don't have a site in Hammond. They're doing this meaningless announcement on a Friday morning, nothing has changed, but people are still taking it seriously. They don't have a site in Hammond. They're just saying they took a secret vote that they like the free money the state of Indiana is willing to give them. George McCaskey's legacy is taking his grandfather's franchise and building a stadium on a steaming pile of toxic waste and human shit with smoke stacks everywhere.

Complete shit show. I might be in bifocals before the Bears ever play a game in a new stadium.

Speaker Welch Statement on Chicago Bears

Jun 5, 2026 |
WESTCHESTER, Ill. — House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch released the following statement Friday:

“In April, the House passed an economic development package that was the product of extensive negotiation with the Bears and other stakeholders. That bipartisan legislation reflected our belief that we can incentivize statewide development and provide property tax relief for working people.

“While Indiana is willing to raise taxes and promise $1 billion in taxpayer funds, Illinois has focused on the needs of working families who want relief at the gas pump, at the store, and on their insurance bills—not taxpayer-funded stadiums.

“Illinois remains open to ongoing efforts to secure the Bears in Illinois. However, it will take time to get it right.”

I don't see anything wrong with that statement. But then again I'm disgusted with the whole idea of taxpayer funded stadiums in general.

I’ve always wanted a reason to root for the Bears. Not saying Hammond would move the needle but if they ended up staying in Chicago that would be enough to give up any hope and sever that thought.
