Bears will have roughly 73 million in cap space this offseason priority one is signing a top OL guy, they got 3 high picks they need to draft 2 OL with those picks.

Coleman Shelton has to be the worst offensive lineman in the league currently starting. It's insane how he, seemingly every week, we see him getting absolutely ragdolled on defense.

That 4th and goal from the 1 perfectly encapsulated just how inept this Bears OL is. From the start, everybody lost their battle. I mean, LITERALLY. EVERYBODY. The entire line is either on the ground or in the process of getting knocked back 5 yards.

I don't think I ever recall a situation where ALL FIVE guys up front get physically manhandled like the Bears OL did. I just don't get it. They were bad last year, but they weren't THIS bad! They could at least run block adequately. Now they can't even do that right.

It's frustrating because the Bears have the talent at WR and TE for Caleb to succeed and you can tell he's trying, but between the inept OL and D'Andre Swift seemingly going missing after he was signed, that isn't a recipe for success.
The play calling is getting all the noise in this situation and rightfully so. Twitter went absolutely to the point that Bears beat people tweeted "What the fuck was that?" out loud. It was horrible.

That speed option...
  1. should have never been called.
  2. should have had a timeout called before they even went through with it.
  3. was a complete meltdown up front (even if it was a bad look for them)

I knew we were doomed when I saw Carter get sent to another dimension

I kind of hate that. Call me old school, but “When you win, say nothing, when you lose say less.
I normally agree but for me, Caleb Williams is my least liked athlete. Him writing F*CK ND or Utah on his nails was probably the most classless thing I can remember an athlete doing. Combine that with his USC ties and I hope he's a total bust in the NFL. I do hate it for the Bears fans as I was born in Chicago and have many. They deserve a great QB, I just hope it's the guy after Williams flames out.

Nah, just the message but keep playing mental gymnastics that your quarterback isn’t a world class douche.
What I meant was nobody ever thought a male athlete would paint profanity on their nails. It's some world we're living in.

I was pretty happy when Utah beat him. I never had a dislike for USC Caleb the way I did for Denard Robinson. Ol Shoelace kind of tormented me there for a bit. He, like Caleb, ultimately got his.

He's 22 years old. ND beat him last year and I haven't paid much more thought to what happened prior to that. He's 22 and seems to be handling things fairly well to this point. If some of the 19-20 year old behavior resurfaces, I'll be concerned. Disappointed. Not totally surprised. Most likely tired and little hungry.

Albert Belle tried to run over trick or treaters with his car. Ron Artest went into the stands and punched Pistons fans. Richie Ingcognito simply exists. I'm putting them up there on the classless o meter. Relatively speaking.

Sunday against the Colts:

  • The plays were coming in too slow.
  • They threw 52 times.
  • Stopped running the ball with Johnson against a Colts defense that was missing their starting DT.
  • Relied on Deandre Carter more than they should.
This is all on Shane Waldron and Matt Eberflus. The two of them may as well be painting each other's fucking nails.

When you're playing against him he's a world-class douche but when he's playing for you then you love it... especially when it's against a rival

There may (emphasis on the may) come a day he does something similar to GB and every person in Chicago will absolutely eat it up

That offensive line is so god awful that no wonder they abandoned the run game.

There is TONS of film of them whiffing on blocks, half assing to the 2nd level (the small number of times they weren't pushed back 5 yards into the backfield), and just getting whipped at the loa.

Waldron called a bad game, but the oline did him zero favors.

They were getting some good runs. He quit on it before OL could be the excuse.

Say whatever you want about Caleb Williams, we're back to where we've been before: questioning whether the QB they've drafted is going to be developed or are these guys idiots too?

I'll put money that the dude in that video is a legacy student who probably had B- grades in high school.

One world class douche meets another.

More like straight As at local Catholic High with essays written by a paid college "counselor" and "test optional" ACT/SAT that never even bothered to take. Don't forget the charity his parents started to pretend he did that got folded up the minute the acceptance letter arrived.

“I look at that seam route he threw late in the fourth quarter that he drove the ball on me on — they’re preventing those type of throws from happening,” Kmet said. “That was really an unbelievable throw by him to fit that in between the hook defender, so that was some really good stuff.”

I think Kmet and Odunze are going to be the keys.

This was very notable later in the 4th when they were running out of time. There seemed to be a lack of urgency in getting lined up and the ball snapped. We've seen Caleb push the exact opposite multiple times this season, so I really do think it's likely on the coaches. ]

I disagree on Carter. He was 4th in targets behind DJ Moore, Odunze, and Kmet and only had 1 more than Roschon. For your WR3 (since Keenan Allen is out), that's not too bad. Source: Colts 21-16 Bears (Sep 22, 2024) Box Score - ESPN

Carter has been targeted ten times in the last two games. He's playing over two draft picks. I'd rather those targets go to someone else. The first INT Caleb threw was intended for him. That isn't necessarily Carter's fault, but the context of these targets in addition to the context of Carter's reps tells a different story.

I would also not like to see Carter at 5-8/190 blocking a 270 pound DE on the goal line. It's completely moronic.

The bolded is so true, there is absolutely nothing about that play that anyone can like.

10 targets over 2 games is still less than Moore, Kmet, and Odunze. Again, Carter was pegged as the likely WR4 before the season and he's being targeted as such with Keenan Allen out. I also would like to see Tyler Scott in there, but we've seen basically nothing from him at all in his career. At least they've pulled back on targeting Everett as much and have started actually game planning for their young TE in Kmet.

Coaching is and has been pedestrian. Burning the timeout, awful 4th and goal call, week before, awful review calls and so on. Look like amateurs

It's obvious to anyone who's not in meltdown mode just how much better the passing game has gotten game over game. The problem is that the improvements overall have been incremental. But I'll add this: Week 1 they scored 0 offensive touchdowns; Week 2 they scored 1; Week 3 they scored 2 offensive touchdowns. With this kinda progression the rest of the league realistically only has 1 maybe 2 more weeks until they are overwhelmed by the offensive production.
The rest of the league is on notice
