I don't listen to Driskell often but just tuned in and he's sounding off pretty harshly. "Doesn't have the temperament and is going to impact how these young men view him" among many other things.

He also did a brief write-up that references what has already been mentioned - that Stuckey was hired based on Rees's preference and Rees preferred him because McNulty liked him based on the relationship McNulty developed from coaching Stuckey in the NFL. That makes sense and it seems clear MF had no personal incentive to keep Stuckey around. Here's the write-up...

Wasn't it rumored at the time that MF went over Tommy's head to make the Chansi hire? Which one is it?

I'm beginning to wonder if Parker felt constricted because of the lack of development by the WR's?
The thing that I never understood about Parker struggling with pass concepts is his background. He was a WR, he played for Hal Mumme, he coached for David Cutcliffe, it just defied logic. Was this PART of the issue?

Or Del, supposedly the room hated him too. Maybe WRs are just a bunch of prima donnas.
Timing of this is bizarre. One week before the portal opens and two weeks before signing day. So either we have a replacement lined up and will announce soon or something really bad just surfaced and Freeman had to move.
Well, they are wide receivers, they’re prima Donna’s by definition 😂

This is the narrative that IB is going with, but they definitely aren't giving Parker a complete pass.

I thought Rees was allowed to assemble the offensive staff but got his feathers ruffled when Freeman hired Parker on his own initiative.

Anyway, Sampson's article in The Athletic back when Stuckey was hired references both his relationship with McNulty and his interview with Freeman as factors in the choice.

Maybe I remember it wrong as well but I remember things differently. When everyone was creaming in their shorts over Stuckey, it was seen as Freeman’s hire. Now that he’s gone, it’s Rees’s hire?

There is no way they got rid of Stuckey before NSD without having someone else in the bag.

I would love if it is a Co OC/WR coach since Parker is staying
Per friend of a friend, ND was reaching out to at least one potential hire weeks ago (not a WR coach). Given that and the Leonard/Howard QB rumors, it seems like ND's been pretty proactive about things.

Nope. Refuse to believe it. I am told by many on this board that Freeman has no viable plan and is only around to make players happy.

I thought it was the Parker hire Reed didn't like. See:

Hmmm, I wonder if this opens the door to hire a co-OC to go with Parker. Could either be TE or WR at this point (fairly certain Parker previously coached WR as he was one). Hmmm...

That's what I was thinking.

Using Hartline as an example (we aren't getting him, just using him for illustration purposes), he comes in as co-OC and WRs coach, and Parker retains a co-OC/TEs coach role.

I could get behind that.

Nothing needs to be spun. Two of the WR committed have already come out and said they're solid to ND.
I am spinning for those who are worried...
I agree with you, there's nothing to worry about - period.
However, for the worriers, they need to think of it differently.
All is well.
