Baylor absolutely deserves to be below TCU, IMO. TCU got hosed in their head-to-head game and scheduling cupcakes like Baylor should be discouraged. Yes, TCU is lucky Minnesota isn't a scrub, but it's the way the cookie crumbled.
Ohio State... who both sucks and hasn't played anyone and lost to freaking Virginia Tech... has no business being anywhere close to their current slotting relative to FSU.

All things being relatively equal, i.e., they're in the same conference and they have the same record, I would give the nod to the winner of the head to head game.
TCU scheduled cupcakes too - Samford and SMU. The only difference in their schedule is TCU played Minnesota while Baylor played Buffalo. Minnesota is tougher, sure, but not tough enough for me to disregard the head to head game.
So TCU beating a terrible Texas team by 38 while FSU beat an SEC team by 5 is enough to completely leapfrog an undefeated FSU? Moronic.

FSU is undefeated and the defending national champ, but we've all seen them play. They haven't dominated a good team all year, have looked bad at times, have come within a gnat's hair of losing several times, and have just not looked like a #1 team all season.
You think Ohio State sucks? Is this with or without Barrett? I think they have a case for the best offense in college football with Barrett.
I think 100% of Irish fans would also be demanding a mulligan for the Virginia Tech game if the program was in the same position.
No, I don't think Ohio State deserves to be in the playoff. But they sure as shit don't suck.
Ohio State lost to a bad VT squad at HOME, struggled with Penn State, Indiana and Michigan.
Their claim to fame is beating Mich St who in their own right hasn't beaten anyone but 9-3 Nebraska.
The Big Ten is absolutely pitiful.
Minnesota and Wisconsin don't even have MAC level QB's.
It goes to show that strength of schedule doesn't mean shit to the committee.
Not if ND's schedule resembled OSU's. It's just awful.
With a RS-Freshmen QB making his second start, who then went on to rewrite the record books at one of the best programs in the country. It's almost like teams get better or worse as the year goes on, hence the desire for a mulligan from the OSU fan base.
And I don't think you watch enough college football if you're surprised by teams having close games with athletically inferior opponents.
Nebraska and nine other teams. They're 10-2. You don't win ten games without being halfway decent at football as much as you'd like so shit on them.
The Big Ten has five quality teams. Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska. I guess I'm sorry they don't hold up to NFL standards. It's college football we're dealing with here. It's arguably a better conference than the ACC. The Pac-12, SEC, and Big 12 have separated themselves from the rest of course.
I'll set your hyperbole aside for a moment and remind you that teams can have redeeming qualities outside of quarterback play. Quarterback play is the reason Wisconsin isn't undefeated, but that doesn't mean they aren't a good team.
Or, it doesn't mean everything. Nor should it. That's an equally stupid way to go about sorting it out. Also...you know Ohio State isn't in the playoff right?
Who cares? Virigina Tech was starting a true Junior who was also making his 2nd career start. He went on the road and beat OSU. It's not like VT was trotting Logan Thomas into the horseshoe that night.
I don't think it's awful. I think it's average. I think it's below that of the Pac-12/Big 12/SEC, but I think it's pretty on par with ACC teams or anyone else.
Should they win Saturday (please no), they'll have wins against Michigan State, Wisconsin and Minnesota. I'm not sure how that's much worse than Florida State from a simple schedule comparison (not resume, obviously the loss to Virginia Tech holds them back).
I want some serious, end of days chaos:
Mizzou beats Bama
GT beats FSU
Zona beats Oregon
Wisky beats OSU
ISU beats TCU
KSU beats Baylor
*Obviously won't happen (although one or two possible), but if that doomsday scenario played out, who gets in?
My guess would be:
Arizona
Bama (still makes it)
Then who? I doubt Oregon would get a pass seeing it would set up a possible 3rd matchup against Arizona, and GT and Mizzou didn't gather enough support until this week to crash the party IMO.

The only true way to rank these teams is to get rid of pre-season rankings. And give a true rank after so many weeks into the season. I think the playoff would look much different at this point if this happened.
Maybe this would cut down on the SEC over ranking as well.
