Per Rivals:

Hinton was out to see Justice Hayes & Kyle Brindza yesterday.

Hinton should be out to see Eilar Hardy on Friday & Brad Carrico Thursday or Friday.

He was in the Maryland area today.

Damn, Hinton is doing some mileage. Seems like a nice guy.

The word on II is Alford may be paying a visit to Lynch when he visits Prestwood. If for nothing else, some closure to the situation.

According to Scout, they are hinting towards a commit as early as this weekend when he visits Florida State. If not this weekend, it wont be long.

Maybe they won't let him in the house lol.

At this point, it really wouldn't shock me. Lynch wasn't man enough to pick up the phone and talk to the coaches after de-committing, I highly doubt he'll be man enough to meet with an ND coach face to face.

Side note: Lynch decommitted via text message and would not take calls from the ND staff.

1) What a beast. Please...that's a move of a thirteen year old girl

2) Did not take calls from ND coaches and Rabasa? Man up.

3) I hope if Alford does visit him, he tells Aaron to look him in the eye and tell him what he has to tell him like a man does.

4) There's a ton of people involved in the kid's recruitment but I think a lot of it goes back to Mama Lynch. I'm sorry. If Aaron or Mama Lynch don't want to talk to Alford, I hope Alford slaps a piece of paper on their front door showing the football players' grad rates at UF and FSU.

And the last line of the note should read, "Your offer is no longer actionable."

Normally we don't get ticked off like this about recruits bailing, but when a recruit's mom comes on here for several months supposedly "debunking" all these rumors and then they come true, we say NAY NAY

If Ishaq Williams visit on campus this December I think he will committ to ND. Because Penn State recruiting class only has 4 players and nobody knows Joe Pa's future or his replacement.

In the end, I bet you Prince Shembo becomes a dominant pass rusher and a better player than Lynch in college, mark my word. Did you see this guys calves! talk about "beast" for a true frosh. He looks the part. Plus you can tell he has a true motor, he is a bit hurt now I think, but with one more year of weights and maturity and he is going to be a ...... load coming off the edge, mark my word!
Thats what ND really needs, a pass rusher that strikes fear in the offense, and next year I predict either Filer /and or Fleming and defintely Prince will fit that mode. No way Lynch could beat out Shembo! Supposedly Kona-number 1 rated player in Hawaii last year also looks the part.

Not a couageous move to decomit by text, I broke up with a girl that way years ago, punk move on both our parts. Aaron, we still want you back despite whatever crap anyone else on here is writing. If not, good luck and we hope to clean the carpet with you. Prestwood, same holds true for you. Just the way it is. I love how the coaches are on the roads beating the bushes. Good luck Tony. Really hope we get Jay Whitmire. Love a kid not getting much love from anyone, likely has a chip on his shoulder looking for a chance to prove a bunch of people wrong.

Go Irish!

That is a classless act..on Lynch behalf...however I for one think that anyone that does that type of crap does not have the dedication and drive to make it in the class room at ND. That is Jr High BS....

I am happy to see the coaching staff make several visits to our recruits while the opportunity presents itself. Kind of wish our bye week would have been sooner, because who knows..., we might still have one of the 3 guys that bailed on us. I will say though, that I am glad these kids bailed when they did and not wait till a few days before NSD. We will now have a little time to go after a few other guys a little harder now.

This will be an unpopular view, but I say about Aaron, yes, it's a bit socially cowardly, but there are all sort of complexities in people which they have to battle with and try to master in time [i.e. "grow up"]. I had my own forms of adolescent cowardice about facing certain social challenges at that age--didn't believe I was a bad person then nor now--just a kid with growing to do in many areas. And absolutely none of this should be laid at the feet of Alice. If any of us have the experience of being a single mother, they might claim right to cast the first stone. Even then they shouldn't. Lord, I can't imagine how tough it's been for her.

I see your point of view and you are right about a few things. I think the thing here alot of us feel almost betrayed in alot of sense and I think rightfully so. The thing here is that we were all led to believe over and over again that he was committed to this class and he wanted what ND had to offer. I also can imagine how difficult it probably has been with Ms. Lynch and I know that trying to influence a teenager is nearly an impossible task at times, but the thing here is that if Aaron was truly wavering then she should have reserved her comments until it was all said and done and not try to diminish some people's concerns by saying he was all irish and anyone who though anything else was ignorant. No one can blame a young 17/18 yr old kid for being confused and changing his mind, BUT when you have a parent who befriended many people on here and time and time again she claims that both are ND bound and can't wait till next year and the future of our defense with Aaron, then that in my mind is kind of a betrayel, because she had a very good idea that her son was definently leaning towards other schools. Bottom line is we all have to wait till NSD and until then anything is possible. I remember when Chris Martin Committed almost immediately and how he was 100 percent Irish, only to have him change his mind later in the process. We see this over and over again and we will probably get a recruit or two ourselves that have committed elsewhere. Until NSD, I will hope for the best, but I will remain guarded in terms of who we actually get until it is over and done with. Because until they put on blue and gold and step onto the field, anything is possible.

Mothers continuously fantasize about their kids, and that "everything is going to be alright". Doubtless Alice was understandably doing that too, and without much other support system in place, I say God bless her, and I hope that she is emotionally OK and that Aaron can relax a bit and their home gets back to what seemed a happy place. I don't think we relate very well to Moms let alone single moms.

I agree, we are not in her shoes and dealing with teenagers can be a real challenge with both parents involvement. Although I strongly disagree with the way they did things, I will not bash them and will wish them the best wherever they end up. Personally I am kind of glad the drama is done with so everyone can move on.

Nah, the personal attacks, especially those on his mom, have been way out of line. You're right about that.

However---the way it was handled certainly contributed to the anger. His mom coming on this board was the first mistake, there needs to be a barrier between the players and the fans. The other was decommitting, in such abrupt fashion, at such a terrible time for the program. Right or wrong, people were bound to be furious when they saw that Mr. "100% ND" Lynch was gone---and furious people say bad things.

Personal attacks on anyone are crap. I thinks his mom coming on here though was to make it seem like he was serious about coming here and he wasn't

The stage on which recruitment of college football players has expanded recently. Disturbingly. Thirty, twenty, ten or even five years ago the scenarios would have played out much more privately.

The BMOC high school football players "back in the day" had a limited audience. Not so in today's world of YouTube and IE, et al.

My counsel to ND fans, players and parents of players: cool your jets.

Roger, Over and out.

The kid is a great football player but he obviously does not have a good role model in his life. He should have picked up the phone and done that. To b honest I dont want the kid playing for ND football.

On a second note I can understand why he decommittied , hell you cant blame the kid. Things are not looking to great over here at ND.

Adversity...it is part of life...if a kid only wants to commit when things are going well...and bails when things are uncertain (in question)...tells me alot about one’s character. You are either part of the solution or not...now I know where he is at.

No. We were talking about having 3-4 more spots before Jordan and Clay de-committed. We should have around 4-5 more spots remaining. IMO we look good for

Savon Huggins
Christian French
Ishaq Williams
Troy Niklas

That would be an amazing way to finish out this class.

That would leave me rather concerned about our secondary. It's already the weakest part of the defense, and if that's how we close then we haven't addressed that problem at all. Are we done with Lyons for sure?

We have 4 DBs committed right now. Eilar Hardy, Josh Atkinson, Matthias Farley, Jalen Brown.

We will still have plenty on the roster today:

CB: Lo Wood, Robert Blanton, EJ Banks (Maybe)

S: Jamoris Slaughter, Harrison Smith, Dan McCarthy, & Zeke Motta
