I may have been wrong about Mayfield. Call it battered wife syndrome, but Mayfield's red flags in college felt like he was going to be Manziel version 2. I haven't been behind Cleveland's QB picks since probably Quinn or maybe Colt McCoy (I thought Kizer was a bad move/bad fit/bad timing). I mean, who drafts Brandon Weeden AND Johnny Manziel?!

Mayfield has adjusted well to the NFL in his first year, and the team really seems to have jumped on his back. They still need some pieces, but they ended the season in an impressive way. Here's hoping he doesn't end up having a Sophomore slump and they continue to build a respectable team going into next year. It's a shame they got so close to hitting the playoff.

Some of us who don’t live in California or Texas very much enjoy Taco Bell buddy.

after all the good homemade quality eats this last week, i also made a run to the border yesterday as a guilty pleasure when I took a break from working on my mom's house.

Browns fans have got to be as happy or happier than Colt's fans. Two awesome stories of the year.

Mayfield played closer to a top-5 QB down the stretch. As Tony Romo pointed out, that level of play came more from instincts than know-how, so there is MVP upside once he can read coverages better. I can't think of a quarterback in the last decade who entered the league with the same combination of accuracy, arm strength and huevos.

I guess Tony never watched Andrew Luck play.

Nothing has been reported locally other than him and Stefanski are the two finalists

I never expected Kitchens to become an NFL coach. He was a QB at Bama who had a cannon for an arm, but couldn't pass with any touch. Every pass, no matter the situation, was a cannon shot or overthrown. He's wasn't the most svelte guy to ever play QB either. An Auburn buddy of mine always referred to him as "That pulling guard you have throwing the ball." Glad to see he's risen this far and I hope he gets the job.

Really hope we hire Kitchens as HC and Stefanski as OC and show Gregg the door. I think this is how it'll play out, hopefully.

I like it well enough... everyone gave a ton of credit to Williams for the turnaround but much of that was offensively so for me it was more a combo of getting Jackson out of the building and letting kitchens do his thing.

I don't think it's a slam dunk but I'm more confident than not.

I'm with ya. More like a "don't rock the boat" type of hire at the moment. The eventual DC hiring will be very important to my overall confidence though.

I like it because it means Eberflus stays with the Colts.

I am fine with Kitchens. Better than some retread. He’s been in the league 14 years coaching. If they have the players they will win.

The jab at Hue Jackson was great.
I did enjoy the ESPN piece about the Haslam regime though...the exchange when Hue was fired was hilarious:

So according to people briefed on the meeting, on Oct. 29, Haslam and general manager John Dorsey entered Jackson's office and told him the team was going to move in a different direction.

Jackson asked why he was being fired.

The team quit on you, Dorsey replied.

At the time, four of the eight Browns games had gone to overtime.

"Get the f--- out of my office," Jackson said.

He told the fucking owner to get the fuck out of HIS office. Incompetent, but he sure had balls.

I remember thinking back that Kellen Winslow was one of the best TEs to play for the Browns in some time, and it was a mistake to let him go over a decade ago. Dude is seriously messed up these days though:

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26141998/former-te-winslow-jail-accused-lewd-acts

Former NFL tight end Kellen Winslow II has been jailed without bail after he allegedly performed lewd actions in front of a 77-year-old woman at a California gym.

Deputy District Attorney Dan Owens told The San Diego Union-Tribune that Winslow is accused of a pair of lewd actions toward a woman at a Carlsbad gym in February. Winslow allegedly touched himself in front of the woman and touched the woman on her arm and foot in a hot tub in separate incidents nine days apart.

Winslow, 35, is facing misdemeanor charges of lewd conduct (two counts), battery of an elder (one count) and willful cruelty to an elder (one count).

He had been on house arrest stemming from charges that include kidnapping and rape from an alleged March 2018 crime spree.

Winslow has pleaded not guilty to the 2018 charges, and a trial is scheduled for April. If convicted, Winslow could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Winslow spent 10 seasons in the NFL from 2004 to 2013 with Cleveland, Tampa Bay, New England and the New York Jets.

The crime spree from 2018 is crazy:

Prosecutors say Winslow began a crime spree last March that included rapes, kidnappings, indecent exposure and burglary and continued until just before his arrest this week.

According to charging documents, he allegedly kidnapped and raped a 54-year-old woman on March 13 and then a 59-year-old woman on May 13.

On May 24, prosecutors say, he exposed himself in a public place, the location of which wasn't disclosed.

The burglary charges involved alleged break-ins at the home of a 71-year-old woman on June 1 and an 86-year-old woman on June 7.

Seriously, wtf?! During that same timeline last year he was also charged with raping a 17 year old (That incident occurred in 2003 though). Once a Miami Hurricane, always a Miami Hurricane?

I wasn't happy when they drafted him... his antics at Miami were enough for me. I never thought he lived up with the hype but he was certainly a plus player when he was healthy and such.

I didn't even realize that this guy was not in a jail cell. Seriously? 2 rapes and a kidnapping and this guy isn't a threat to society? How does that work? And if he's on house arrest how is he able to still go to a gym? Put him away.
