Girls shouldn't be on boys teams. The school had a policy and upheld it. It's unfortunate for the players, but that was the school's policy and they stuck to it. I don't have a problem with that.
Those guys will never get to second base with a girl.
I don't have an issue with that. They have a policy and stuck to it. If people disagree with it then so be it but you can't get mad because you disagree with it.
Besides, if a guy can get kicked off a girls field hockey team because he is "to good", then oh well.

I can't believe some of the bullsh!t i'm reading here. This was a public tournament and the girl was playing for a school that chose not to "stand for" discrimination. The coaching staff and parents of those kids forced their children to publicly discriminate a young girl because of what?.... she should know her place? They were forcing their own idiotic views on a tournament that had no rules against girls playing in it. If they were going to force their kids to publicly forfeit a game because of the sex of one of the opposing players, then they shouldn't have entered the tournament in the first places.
If the school had a "whites only" policy and forfeited the game because an african american kid played on the other team, would you be cool with that too? Or is it just discrimination against women that you guys feel should be taught to children?
I hope none of you dudes have a little girl one day that gets treated this way.
I'm embarrassed for you...

Wooly.
Go join a girls softball team.
Let me know how that works out for ya. Those bigots will accuse you of being a pervert.
Not a liberated marksman of the justice.

I fully agree with you Wooly. It would be a completely different story if it was a girl on a football team and they didnt want to hurt her physically. But they didnt want to play her because they feel in their hearts women have no place in athletics. Very classless act by a "catholic" school.

They don't and they didn't. You can't debate everything with hypotheticals but since you always do, here's one for you. Say I'm in a boxing tournament where I literally try to beat the **** out of my opponent. Say a girl signs up for the tournament and I draw her in the first round. If I refuse to beat the shiit out of her, am I discriminating against her?
The girl doesn't belong on a boys baseball team no more than a guy belongs on a girls field hockey team. Maybe they don't have rules against it but it sure as hell isn't called a coed baseball team. It's a boys team. Sucks for her that her school doesn't have softball but I think it's something she can live without. Btw, I have a four year old girl and I will never allow her to play on a strictly boys team of any kind. If you do, well then I'm embarrassed for your child.
I'm constantly amazed at how readily many alleged ND fans ignorantly rail against the Catholic Church around here.

This isn't a a contact sport, so that is an awful comparison. She had every right to compete in the tournament and there were no rules against it. If the team felt that strongly about sexism then they shouldn't have entered a tournament that allowed it.
So where do you personally draw the line? Would it be ok for girls to compete in track against men? Or should they just stay in the kitchen where they belong?
If my daughter wanted to play against boys in a non-contact sport I would totally allow her to. I would allow her because I would want my daughter to know that she doesn't have to listen to the discrimination people like you spew. I would want her to know that nothing will be holding her back from accomplishing anything she wants in this world.

My wife is also a pediatric nurse, far removed from the kitchen.
No it wouldn't.
Women absolutely do have a place in athletics. Women's athletics.
Men have a place in athletics. Men's athletics.
We're not talking about adult's rights here.
You think Notre Dame would let a girl play CB? (RIDICULOUS COMPARISON!!!)
I feel bad for the girl's team because they don't get the pleasure to beat the other team.
