Bowl Scenario you prefer?

If we turn things around this season which bowl scenario would you guys prefer? A BCS game but we are overmatched and get beaten down like everytime we have gone to the BCS before but the good side of the coin is we get a better stage to see how we match up or go to a mid-level bowl game and do like we did in the Hawaii and Sun Bowls recently and win pretty well but in a small time bowl it prolly doesnt gain us anymore resepct. Im just curious to which you prefer a win in a mid level game or a loss in a BCS game. Another question what Mid-Level bowls can we even qualify for since we used our Champs Sports bid in 2011?

A BCS bowl means we will have run the table, including wins in Dallas (ASU), vs. USC and @ Stanford. I'd much rather have another shot at the SEC than a pre-New Years bowl game.

BCS bowl. Clearly. I don't know that we'll necessarily deserve to be there, but if we win out, we'll have some significant momentum. So who knows.

Especially since the alternative appears to be some fourth-tier crap bowl we're probably better than (even at 9-3 we don't have a lot of good options this year).

Honestly I don't care what bowl, as long as it's some place sunny close to the beach. I'd go to the Toilet Bowl if it were somewhere in Florida. Just want to see the Irish, and chill on the beach.

No. Not til next year. That's why we're in a crap bowl situation with one more loss. The Pinstripe Bowl. Maybe that game in Detroit. There's a few others. But even at 9-3 or 8-4 our best bet would appear to be some fluke deal like the Sun Bowl a few years back where a conference doesn't fill all its allotted slots with bowl-eligible teams. And even then we get the bottom of the barrel.
Frankly this is the biggest reason I like the ACC deal. We can't be BCS or Bust every year. But this year, that's what we are.

Ha, I know it's sarcasm font, but I'll explain exactly what I am predicting, a win for the Irish this Saturday over a ranked opponent. a surprising eye opening win.

Don't understand where this board all of the sudden got freaked out about az st. Is it because they just beat sc? News flash sc is a poorly coached team.

This reminds me of 2010 after the Tulsa loss, with a ranked Utah team coming to town. People on this board wrote us off then and theyre writing us off again now. Utah left south bend with 3 points and sore bodies. We went on to win four straight. In very dominant fashion. Btw I think that was pre tuitt & nix.

Two losses were all but gift wrapped and handed to mich and ok.

The change of scenery will be good for this team, atmosphere will be electric in that stadium, can't wait < Bart Scott voice.

i prefer any bowl game where we match up with a team from a respected conference where beating them would give us momentum into the recruiting season and next season in general

I wouldn't be confidant in our chances in a BCS bowl. Tired of being overmatched in bowl games. Seriously, put us with a team that will provide a decent game. For those that think we can still go 10-2...give me what you're smoking. I think the mentality of "BCS or bust" is silly too. Sure, it's a great goal, but it's not realistic. Most teams don't go to a BCS bowl each year. Few teams can even string together 3 or 4 years of back to back appearances. Some people would take a BCS loss over a decent bowl win in a slightly lower tier. Wheres the sense in that? Take the momentum, not another loss in the already ugly bowl record over the last 20 years.

If we finish 10-2, which I would bet my life will not happen, it would be the same problem as last year - there's too long of a gap between our last game and the bowl game, and we'd get torched again.

Bro I bought the t-shirt and the hat right after the game for full price. Got the long sleeve T and hoodie on sale though. I heard the Sun Bowl is the second oldest bowl game though so it's something to be more proud of than some of these other mid level bowls out there. IMO

Awesome, how come I've never heard of this before? Obviously I'd prefer a BCS, but if the Irish came over here to the city it would be pretty amazing to watch, especially at Yankee Stadium.

Apparently if the Big 12 has an ineligible team for the bowl, Notre Dame gets an automatic tie-in. Hypothetically, can someone help explain to me how that would happen?
