Change how you react to people starting post game threads or posting legitimate beefs with the school and program. Not so easy, is it?

I'm not sure how I got this reputation for crying about someone else starting post game threads, because that has never happened. One time, I did take someone to task when they started a post game thread that was nothing more than (this is not a direct quote):

1. The Defense sucks.

2. The Offense sucks.

3. Darrin Walls is a piece of sh!t and should never see the field again.

4. Charlie Weis is a fat ass and we will be lucky if he doesn't eat the team before our game next week. He sucks, too!

My reaction was to tell them that, if they were going to try to rip off my original idea of the post game observations thread, then they could at least put some effort into it. That criticism (which was WELL deserved) spawned a bunch of "why the fvck do you have to start the post game thread each week?" responses. I never cried about it, I just pointed out that I had started the original Post Game Observations thread (back in about 2005-2006), and that it had become something of a tradition, and that the tradition has just kind of fallen to me. So I'm not sure where the other stuff is coming from, but I don't recall ever throwing a fit about it.

I never have an issue with people posting legitimate beefs with the school or the program, and there are probably dozens of people on this board who will tell you that I agreed with their beefs, or positive repped them for laying their beef out in a logical manner. It's when people whine and cry about stuff that that's NOT legitimate (like expecting to know EXACTLY what is going on in the Athletic Department, exactly WHEN it is known) that I tend to get dismissive.

Serious question, what happens if you just do this with all the stuff that gets you riled up? You are one of the worst offenders of having to 'correct' every opinion and I've seen you warned by mods on numerous occasions to chill out. Take some of your own advice if you're going to dispense wisdom.

There is a BIG difference between me debating someone else's opinion in a thread, and wooly starting an entire thread for the sole purpose of trying to rally people around ostracizing one individual on the board.

Ohhh my... what would we have done without your brainchild of an idea of... dare I say it... talk about the previous weeks game? My god... a genius among children, you are...

Actually, I was the third person to start the thread, and I didn't mention his name until he posted. It was also brought up and derailed several threads before that. So this wasn't my brainchild of an idea to point out Admiral, he put that on himself.

I thought you were ignoring me? As long as you don't directly try to rally people around ostracizing me, I will ignore you.

First off, I never claimed that it was some kind of stroke of genius that I put together a post game observations thread, so don't try to derail this into me tooting my own horn. Because I'm not.

Secondly, you weren't even here, back then. So how would you know what it was like before the Post Game Observations thread? Maybe it was a novel idea? You have no idea if it was or not.

Ha.. ok... I'll let everyone else read your post and decide for themselves. You are the one that called it "an original idea". Its a post to discuss the previous week's game, bro. You're not Wolf Blitzer going after hard hitting stories. Get over yourself.

So which is it? You think its an amazing stroke of individual genius or not? Because in one post you seem to signal both? I don't think I need to have been a member in '05 to realize that it doesn't take a mad genius to come up with a thread to discuss the previous week's game. Pretty sure every football forum on the planet does that.

I wasn't your "homie", and I am certainly not your "bro". Before I started the Post Game Observations thread, there were dozens of separate threads about the previous week's game. Each individual idea had its own thread. I had the original idea to start "the" post game thread. Original to IE, not original to the entire internet. But that's really beside the point. The point is that Kane tried to make it sound like I was whining about other people trying to start one, and I never did that. If you have other issues with me, then we can take those to PMs.

I'll call you whatever I want within the rules of the board, chief. You also did cry about people talking about the game outside of your masterpiece of a post game thread. You have done this a bunch of times because you think you did something noteworthy by making a post game thread. Get over yourself, a post game thread isn't original to anything. Not this board, not anywhere on the internet. It is a simple task that you have blown way out of proportion. It is common sense that people would want to break down the previous week's game on a football forum. You are not a unique butterfly, you are just a random dude that thinks he better than everyone else for doing something entirely mundane.

This thread is going downhill in a hurry. I think it has achieved it's original purpose of clarifying: (1) the board's policy on neg reps; (2) the community norms on neg reps; and (3) how disputes over neg reps should be handled. Thus, it has outlived its usefulness.

Everyone's got 5 more minutes to get in a final (hopefully civil) word, and then it's getting locked.

Thanks for not making it personal. I have never done any such crying. And you know I haven't, or else you would have posted it here, to prove your point.

Ok... I guess everyone is stupid and are incapable of reading your posts in this very thread, where you cry about everyone not realizing your post game breakdown genius.
