Thanks guys, I wasn't sure how Philly.com would spin it, anyway I hope Notre Dame has what they want, reading this thread from the beginning ( I was bored) it seems you guys really like him and he is obviously a good football coach. It may not be an annual thing but don't be surprised if he kicks NFL tires again in a few years, which would be a good thing because that would mean he will continue to be successful at Notre Dame. Cross your fingers for us if you have the time and hope we get Gus Bradley.

Yes TP, take credit for something you claimed would happen yesterday. It's not like there weren't a bunch of ND beat guys and informed premium posters (Hanratty) saying that BK would stay. Shoot, half this site was saying they thought he would stay. But please... Go ahead and take credit for something that you never predicted correctly.

This is the $hit that drives me crazy. You can't just be a fan? You can't post without trying predict something that is posted on every premium site or taking credit for said info?

Maybe BK used this whole thing as a screening tool to weed out the non-RKGs. AA failed.

#Eagles called for permission to talk to Brian Kelly, but #NotreDame AD Jack Swarbrick mandated it wait until after BCS title game.

Also, while a new deal will be struck for #NotreDame HC Brian Kelly, timeline may not be measured in days or weeks. Takes a while.

I think it would be wise not to assume this was "just" a negotiation...

I think if we were 'wise' we wouldn't have invested so much time and aggravation in the first place.

Unfortunately, we're fanatics. Wisdom doesn't enter in to much of what we do around here at all.

Don't be naive. You don't think after a couple of years of saying this same thing that I haven't been informed of the contacts of TP? Do you really think that I am just shooting off if the cuff?

The only difference is that those people weren't trying to leverage that in tweets and such, trying to position it as "inside knowledge". Finally.... That positioning ended up being incorrect anyway.

He was never going anywhere. You can't pay attention to the "details" in situations like this because anything the media gets is planted, and planted info is designed to forward a narrative and an agenda. They had to sell his interest in order for the leverage play to work. If you step back from it, I think its obvious that the Eagles hiring Kelly and Kelly leaving ND to go there makes zero sense for either of them. It would be a step down for him, and it would be a horrible hire by the Eagles because all of his best skills as a coach would be completely wasted in the NFL.
