I get where that sentiment comes from, but I also think it is a little simplistic. The memorial should be judged based on a variety of criteria, not just its height.

I'm sure you can find a lot of New Yorkers that are angry about just about anything.

When does a Memorial become a pissing contest?

Lol I don't think we're in a pissing contest, just a difference of opinion is all. I just thought that 2 of the most famous buildings in the world, that were famous because of their height, would at least be replaced with something comparable. Given the circumstances of how they went down it seems fitting that we go bigger and better. Just my opinion is all.

No I wasn't clear enough, I wasn't calling the both of you as contestants in the Pissing contest. I was referring to the size of the building versus the significance of its meaning.

It is a valid argument both ways.

Sorry for changing gears here, and I am sorry if this has been posted already but, there is talk from Wikileaks and Al Queda itself that they have a rogue nuke. They "Al Queda" proclaimed if Bin Laden was Killed they would detonate. I bet the NSA-CIA are either hot on the trail now, or have debunked it. I am thinking Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris need to mobilize.

Why does this make me think that Diaco may have to take a hiatus from the recruiting trail?

What has he been saying? I don't have a twitter account.

Rashard Mendenhall Twitter Comments Spark Controversey

Here's an alright summary... I don't have any qualms with his first tweet about celebrating death... but there are about half a dozen tweets afterwards that are as close to being pro-Osama as you can be without saying. Says he doesn't believe planes can take down a building (which hugely offends me as a structural engineer who has met Les Robertson) and that "we have only heard one side of the story" and that "there is no evidence Osama was behind the attacks."

And yes, this is the same guy who last year compared the NFL to modern day slavery... which is also one of the most offensive things I have ever read because in many places in the world there is still slavery to this day.

To think I once drafted this clown on my fantasy team...... *shudder*

The thing that gets me about the slavery part is, no one forces you to play football it is totally up to the individual to play. Slavery is something that is forced upon someone and those slaves don't make millions of dollars to play or work

If I was payed millions of dollars a year, I was surrounded by deliciously pretty women folk, looked up to by thousands of fans just to play a game and that was considered slavery, sign me the f--k up.

Was finishing a paper for school and saw on Twitter that Obama was going to cut off Trump for an announcement and I thought "oh snap, he's got more Trump jokes"

I turned on CNN and it was clearly important. The rumors start and I figured either Bin Laden is dead or we found alien life.

Great news. Also seeing people come together was awesome, glad to see national pride again. I have to admit though, Alien life would have been pretty awesome.

Navy Seal Squad Six is the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Proud of all of our men and women serving

The crap that Mendenhall just Tweeted... in Pittsburg, a blue-collar town, near to New York City... he's gonna get booed out of town.

Pittsburg is a huge military and ex-military town. He's gonna get booed at every single touch until he's traded to Miami. Or Dallas. Or Cincinnatti.

Was I the only one who saw the similarities in my head between the "burial at sea" of Bin Laden and the last scenes in the first Transformers movie? I guess life really does imitate art.

to each their own... I'm glad he is dead... though I did feel strange about people dancing in the streets celebrating it... idk why... guess it just reminded me of the vids from the mid east of people doing the same on 9/11...

anyway.

Completely understand why they won't be release the photos, but it would've been nice to see the dead POS.

Read more: Obama: I won't release bin Laden death photos - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

Personally, I don't really care either way. However, I can understand why some people would feel strongly about seeing the "proof", if you will, of the death of one of the most notorious figures in history. I kind of understand Obama's reasons for it, but I just don't think it would be that big of a deal to release them. I think keeping them under wraps brings about more suspicion and speculation than if you just release them and bear the brunt of the consequences.

As I said earlier, I lost a few friends at the Pentagon. IMO, it would've been closure for the families. They would know that the person ultimately responsible for their loss was brought to justice. At the same time though, I don't want every Muslim in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places to hang the photo in their rooms worshipping the POS like he was some kind of martyr.
