The law is the law and pretty specific and no one is arguing that he's innocent.

Officer: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Irish#1: No sir.
Officer: You were going 70mph in a 55mph zone.
Irish#1: Well officer, with all due respect, my interpretation of the law is that it's just a suggested speed limit.
Officer: I totally understand. Here's your ticket.
For the record, I am because he’s never been charged. I’m actually surprised civil court isn’t used more even after criminal cases are over and the person is found innocent. See OJ and see many many officers involved shootings where the officer is never charged but the city/office is liable in civil court.

Ok - so he’s a convicted sexual assault’er who shoved his fingers into a woman who didn’t want it. That is what the court decided. Do you agree?

Also, just to be clear when going forward are we going to be holding everyone to the same standard of ensuring compliance with correctly calling things by their legal definitions? Just want to check.
Disagree. Again civil court is different and your brain may not be able to understand. Criminality you prove 100% they did it. Civil cases are 50.1% and the jury merely found that it not likely to have happened then didn’t. They aren’t saying “yes he did”, in civil cases it’s ehh probably. What evidence did she present that he shoved his fingers into her vagina?

Remember when Trump shared classified info on a golf course?

2 My team and I conducted a thorough, independent investigation. We identified evidence that the President willfully retained classified materials after the end of his vice presidency, when he was a private citizen. This evidence included an audio- recorded conversation during which Mr. Biden told his ghostwriter that he had “just found all the classified stuff downstairs.” When Mr. Biden said this, he was a private citizen speaking to his ghostwriter in his private rental home in Virginia. We also identified other recorded conversations during which Mr. Biden read classified information aloud to his ghostwriter. We did not, however, identify evidence that rose to the level of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Because the evidence fell short of that standard, I declined to recommend criminal charges against Mr. Biden. The Department’s regulations required me to write a confidential report explaining my decision to the Attorney General. I understood that my explanation about this case had to include rigorous, detailed, and thorough analysis. In other words, I needed to show my work. Just as I would expect any prosecutor to show his or her work in explaining the decision to prosecute or not. The need to show my work was especially strong here. The Attorney General had appointed me to investigate the actions of the Attorney General’s boss, the sitting President of the United States. I knew that for my decision to be credible, I could not simply announce that I recommended no criminal charges and leave it at that. I needed to explain why.

Jury decided. It wasn’t a bench trial. Jesus, my 13 y/o daughter taking civics and debate can follow along and discern this, why can’t you?

I used the terms colloquially. My sincerest apologies to all that have been hurt.

I'll let @NorthDakota decide my fate on this grave injustice.

You're just arguing over semantics at this point. Not sure on the specifics of driving laws in Indiana but up here there is certain thresholds for being charged with "reckless" driving. Someone could say that someone is driving recklessly while being 1 mile under the limit.

So, my point remains are we going to have everything here have to be du jure? Or will you only enforce this on me. Just want to standards I have to maintain.

I am not a lawyer so I'm not going to have all the answers. Maybe past relationship breakdowns give you a better insight into civil court than me. The people that were given more evidence than you and I said "ehh probably" so I'll take them over me. You should volunteer your services to dear leader so he can use your wisdom.

don’t back track from being the resident google expert, it’s not that hard. This trial and the happenings have been publicized everywhere, you can google the “evidence”.

By this well articulated Google search it doesn’t even have to be over 50% but at 50% probability.

This is why this happens. All of these charges and indictments just so you can do your job and misconstrue facts on message boards.

I am choosing to believe what was decided by people more involved than me.

Misconstrue facts lol, I have clarified that what he did was rape in my opinion. You're choosing to say "nah, I'm just right because I said so" and you're free to do that its just counter to what happened within the legal system.

You really want to go down the road of believing what was decided by people more involved than you? I could probably write a whole book on things Trump has been accused of but the people more involved than you decided something counter to your opinion. So today is a good day to use that line you didn’t follow yesterday and won’t tomorrow.

“what he did was rape” because “that’s what she said”

Precision of language matters quite a bit with civil/criminal stuff. Particularly when it comes to the Carroll stuff. No punishment necessary, just probably worth being aware that the bar for being held civilly liable for something is comically low relative to being convicted of crimes.

What's the point then of having civil suits?

If we're going to go back and forth on this - do you then disregard positions you held on others because it did not reach the criminal standard? Or is this only being applied to this specific circumstances.

Right, but I didn't say anything regarding criminal vs civil. I am aware of the bar being lower, I did not think that the term "court" was a pervasive matter to this.

Welcome to gaslighting 101 brought to us by Toronto… I’m not the one saying someone has been convicted of something they haven’t been. This isn’t about me dipshit.

The term you’re probably looking for is Strawmaning, but that won’t work because you’re not arguing the facts you’re upset at my language. So in asking you why you have different standards for different people I’m just asking you for your criteria.

You can’t argue a point if you don’t know what the other person is basing their position off of. If you would like to say that I am pushing a media talking point how do you assess what passes for being ok to say?

If you want to trade insults go nuts I got tons, but I’ll let you decide on that.

I’m good with gaslight. Because you got caught being full of shit you are now trying to make me question if I’m full of shit Instead taking accountability for your own shit.

Trade insults? I explained to you the difference between civil and criminal and because you weren’t the smartest guy in the room you questioned my knowledge of civil courts by questioning my relationships. Gaslight #2. You want me to say sorry? Yeesh!! Stay single, please.

I legitimately think Biden is going to lose the election because he played the “middle” on Israel. A “Never Trump” billionaire Jew came out the other day and said “well actually I can’t vote for Biden because he is pro-Hamas and even though I hate Trump I’m going to support him because of the insanity of the pro-Hamas left.

And then on the other side you have leftists calling him “Genocide Joe.”

If Biden came out day 1 and said “I support Israel eradicating Hamas and if Hamas wants to protect Gaza then they can surrender” it probably would’ve been worth 2-3 points nationwide.

And when he was running, he touted his vast foreign policy expertise.

Nah. Biden will win but it’ll probably be close enough to lead to more voting irregularities claims

That is surprising, kudos to Biden. Congress can end up opting to increase the budget from the proposal. I know I posted it awhile back, but a lot of these climate scientists will put out data that favorably supports their positions so they get more money, and then squelch anything that refutes it or doesn't help their cause. They stay lockstep with each other like a monopoly so funding doesn't get cut. The whistleblower was a scientist that contributed for years and then decided enough was enough.
