Okay, sorry about the first one,... still possibilities for some intense debate here...

Dr. Pepper owns all others souls... any who disagree are obviously flavor challenged...

I liked the scene in The Invention of Lying where the Pepsi ad said it like it was...

"Pepsi... when you can't get a Coke."

Better you should ask "Best Soda/Best Pop?"

Or, as they say down south, "Would you like a Pepsi Coke, a Root Beer Coke or a Dr. Pepper Coke?"

Everything is coke. Period. Except Mountain Dew which use to be my favorite until my wife came home from work at the dental office one day and told me about a kid whose teeth had turned green from drinking it so much.

Now it is Pepsi and DP. Coca Cola tastes like Goblin pee.

While in chemistry lab, we often used Coca Cola as an acid research medium in experiments since it was more powerful than most laboratory acids, far cheaper, and completely uniform bottle-to-bottle as to PH [acidic potency].

Not that I'm trying to ruin anything for you guys, but ...

just sayin'.

lol... my mom is a dental assistant... she ALWAYS gets uneasy when the little one drinks Mount. Dew. and never let me or my sister drink it growing up... apparently it's HORRID for your teeth.

I've always been partial to Black Cherry ... whether it's pop, soda or a soft drink.

I imagine that most on this board are far too young to remember the days when one could go to the local Liggett's Drug Store, sit on a stool at the soda fountain and get a "hand pulled" Coke. Flavors (lemon, cherry, vanilla, etc.) were a freebie part of the nickel deal.

Comics and Mad Magazine were a dime.

Sir dshans:THAT I DO remember. During the years following WW2, Mom and Dad could afford each of us three kids [at the time/ four more to come] 25cents allowance. That got you into the saturday matinee movie plus popcorn and a "coke", plus two Marvel comic books at 5cents each. Sometimes the drugstore soda vendor would "pull" us kids a "coke" for free just to be "neighborly". Simple nice days to be a kid, and long before anyone told us we were poor so we didn't notice.

Not ruining anything for me!
I use Sprite a couple times a year to clean the battery terminals in the automobile!
That stuff will eat ANYTHING!

I like to splash a bit of Coke in with my whiskey if I'm in the mood to get reckless. Carbonation doubles the rate of alcohol intake into the blood stream.

Never heard that. When I moved here with my carpetbag and asked for a "coke" all I got was a rednecked blank stare. When I rephrased my request to "Coca Cola" I got a reply of "Oh, you mean you want a "CoCola".

"Coke" became more acceptable as the "I'd like to buy the world a coke" generation's offspring came of age. Damn hippies.
