Hmmm, not nearly as hype as the season two trailer,... but I’ll still watch for sure.

LIfe, Death and Robots has me hooked but it's weird. It's like adolescent/young adult animus packaged with slightly too much nudity and nihilism but I can't stop watching because I like most of the episodes.

There have been a few duds sprinkled in, and I hate myself for this, but I do like the show. It'd be more enjoyable if the creators had more nuanced views but I'll be looking forward to a 2nd season.

I saw an article (I did not read) headline that it's "Heavy Metal" for millennials.

That's kind of where I'm at with ST. OA season two comes out Friday. Probably more excited for it. l Liked the cast.

The youngsters are 14 or so

Assuming season 2's Snowball Dance is their JR High dance and the info in the link below is correct claiming Season 2 was the fall of '84. That makes them the class of '89 and 48 years old today.

https://www.bustle.com/p/how-old-ar...n-2-mike-the-gang-are-growing-up-fast-2985706

This scene was the one thing throwing me. Every Breath You Take was a year earlier in '83. But it was literally on the radio for two years with Billy Jean and Beat it.

I Wanna Know What Love Is would have been spot on for the Dance.

Oh shit that is out already??? One of my favorite shows.

Pretty sure it comes out this Friday.

Give it a shot. Pretty damn good IMO.

On amount of content, NF, Amazon, and Hulu are all starting to partner more and more with other networks. I'm a big fan of European, and to a lesser extent Canadian and Australian shows. NF has started to co-produce a bunch with those guys, but also simply buying rights post production. I watch most Euro shows real time (Euro schedule), but I see more and more popping up on NF and the others. Acorn is another pay service that is exploiting the Euro TV market.

Pretty excited for OA season 2 as well. Really liked season 1.

I started watching with very low expectations while chilling in FL on vacation. I got hooked quickly. Curious to see how they do S2. I hope they don't go to far off the deep edge post S1 mystery.

Exactly, kind of just snuck up on me. Loved the 1st season. Hoping the 2nd is just as good because I/we've been waiting on this for over 2 years, lol.

There are a ton of Swedish, German, and Australian shows on Netflix that I love. The Rain, Glitch, Dark (seriously go watch Dark right now), Perfume, etc...

Always watch in original language with subtitles. A lot of the emotion gets lost if you try and listen in English.

Dark was awesome. S2 is suppose to hit later this year. Glitch S3 later this year too. The The Rain was good, but no where near Dark IMO.

If you've never watched Bron/Broen (the original "The Bridge"), or Forbrydelsen (the original "The Killing"), watch those right now lol. Forbrydelsen is on Hulu IIRC, but the Bron/Broen is harder to find. Both can be found on Kodi/Exodus pretty easy. Both considered top 10 international series. The Tunnel (BBC and on Amazon) is another remake of the The Bridge is very good too, but a bit different (story line).

Trapped (on Amazon) is another very good Nordic Noir. Wallander is amazing too (there are both BBC and Nordic versions) from both countries. Bordertown (NF) and Acquitted (C4 via Kodi/Exodus) are the next Nordics for me.

Hinterland and Shetland (both BBC/English) are two of my favorites and found on Netflix too. Just got done watching the latest season of Shetland (not on NF yet) last night. Cardinal (NF or Hulu) is a great Canadian show too. Baptiste (spinnoff from The Missing) is currently running on BBC, but should be headed to the US shortly.

Fauda (from Israel) is pretty damn good to and IIRC on NF.

Anybody watch the Umbrella Academy? Wasn't sure whether to put it here or the comic book thread. Finished the season a week ago. It's mostly enjoyable except for Ellen Page. She's just fucking awful. There is a weird incest thing going on with two of the characters. Not Cersei and Jamie level though. There's some decent humor. Feels more like a show you'd see on USA or Syfy than Netflix though. I think it's rated TV-14, probably would have been better with a MA rating. I'd give it a 6/10. Would have been higher but Ellen Page really dragged it down.

I watched it. Your ratings are pretty spot on. Page is brutal!
I loved the flashback childhood scenes.

I thought Page, as a young actress had lots of promise. She's totally went down hill. Huge ego. The political crap doesn't help.

Not Netflix, but watched the start of Season 2 of Barry. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. Getting rave reviews.

Anyone watch "YOU" - Netflix Original. On its premiere season. Creepy stalker series. Wife wanted to watch it. It kept my attention on how creepy it was. Wasn't too bad.

The funny thing is i was glancing through shows and came across the trailer and told my wife, want to watch this one (Knowing she wouldn't like it because it was creepy. She confirmed my thoughts.)

Then time goes by and said "hey i keep seeing people say that they liked a new show on Netflix called YOU." I'm like...that's the one i showed you. Her response was "oh - well i guess we can watch it."

I do this to my wife... she'll recommend something to me, "Eh"... someone else recommends it, "Hey babe, i heard about this show...." Drives her crazy, lol.
