THIS IS GOOD.

We want ESPN and every other media outlet continue to tell Bama that they'll smash us and could compete for a NFL playoff spot.

There's no motivation larger then complete disrespect.

I actually would not have a problem with this. They lost to GA on a fluke game. Nothing like the kind of loss UGA or Bama has on its record.

Exactly, and Bama and Oregon have basically played weak schedules but Oregon's loss wasn't as bad.

I think FSU and Oregon are better than UGA and Florida. I have no problem with Bama being there. All are overrated except Bama. My top five are;

1. ND
2. Bama
3. FSU
4.Oregon
5. Florida

Don't agree there, but if they beat FL they earned that spot IMO

Biggest fvcking troll ever.

@ClayTravisBGID 20m
I honestly think Notre Dame would be the worst team to ever play in the BCS title game. Bama. Huge

@ClayTravisBGID 10m
Notre Dame fans, shut up, you've played one top 40 offense all year. One! And your defense is still ranked behind Bama, FL, & LSU.

BGIF's older brother, perhaps?

Florida has played a super rough schedule. Tougher than ours. They have one close loss to #10 UGA.

Oregon and Bama have both played awful schedules and both had close losses, Oregon's closer. Florida has to be above them. FSU's schedule is an absolute joke and lost to 6-5 NC State.

Should be:

1. ND
2. Florida
3. Oregon
4. Bama
5. UGA

I'm basing this off their talent and my strong opinion that they beat Florida. They had a slip-up against NCSt. (we know how easy it is to have a let down) but I truly believe they belong up there ahead of the rest of the SEC. I could see anyone putting Oregon ahead of them, but I don't think UGA or Florida would compete with them. If Florida beats FSU then I would certainly put them at #2 ahead of Bama. Bama would get the nod for #2 if they beat UGA in the SEC Championship. I'm just skeptical of the way Florida has evolved throughout the year. I know it's what people did/do to us, but that's just my opinion.

After second thought, I thought I heard Herbie say on BCS Selection show tonight that he doesn't see Florida beating FSU one bit. I thought he may have misspoke but maybe not...

That was no mistake on his part, he said the same thing twice on College Gameday.

Nice call Notredamus.

I would have predicted the KSU game, but when using psychic powers it's difficult to channel your energies to more than one subject without getting a headache. I will try better the next time.

I listened to the BCS show last night and while it wasn't an ND love fest, I wasn't too bothered by it. I thought they were trying to focus on all the possibilities that could still happen given that the BCS poll has been thrown for a major shakeup two weeks in a row.

We all know that ND is one of the most polarizing teams in all sports and we will always have our haters. With us being the only undefeated eligible team, they can't do a damn thing now except vote us #1. It will only get worse if we take care of SC like we should. I have no fear in playing Bama for the NC. This is a magical season.

So on BCS countdown they are predicting a rematch of KSU and Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.... Shows the ineptitude of ESPN.

Sure to get unbiased info from 2 $EC knuckleheads.
It's actually three out of three.

Rece Davis (#2 Alabama), David Pollack (#3 Georgia), Jesse Palmer (#4 Florida).

Gee, what a fair and balanced panel.

Re: Being underdogs against every SEC team

Some of you should google how lines are made. It has absolutely nothing to do with what "Vegas" thinks about the teams. It is only about the [betting] public's perceptions of the teams in question. Vegas wants to get equal money on each team. With the juice included, that means they cannot lose money no matter what the outcome. If everyone in the media is downplaying Notre Dame and fellating the SEC, that skews public perception. Everyone keeps repeating that Alabama is the greatest team in the history of college football (for the fourth year in a row...), so the masses are believing it. That's what impacts lines. Nothing to do with what the casinos think of the teams.

There is actually a very interesting futures article done by one of the best cappers in the biz on this, I think it came out about two years ago. Essentially, Notre Dame is like the Yankees, Tiger Woods, and the Cowboys. No matter what, ND fans (I think he says "homers") will ride the ND line and bet ND. No matter what, even if it is an unfair spread, ND fans will bet on their team. Thus, no matter the line, its +ev for Vegas when it comes to ND, and even more so b/c the ND fan will make the neg ev wager.

OMG Facts ‏@OMGFacts
With #NotreDame no. 1 in the BCS, this is the 1st time in BCS history that a school is atop in polls & in student-athlete graduation rates.

It doesn't help that shows on ESPN and elsewhere say things like "well Vegas has the line set at ND being a 10 point dog so that tells you all you need to know" it makes it seem like these Vegas establishments think poorly of Notre Dame.

Sagarin currently has Florida at SOS of 19, and us at 33. I would have to kind of agree with that.

IDK if SOS takes into account team travel. If it does, then we definitely deserve to be ranked higher. Although we have played better away from home?

Are you serious? They went to Texas once, and Tennessee twice, every other game was in the state of Florida. Besides that, they played back to back FCS opponents recently and Kentucky before a bye before LSU their toughest game by far. Bowling Green turned out to be good but I'm sure that wasn't the intention when they were scheduled. Their schedule does not look super rough to me, certainly not tougher than ours. We went to Ireland, East Lansing, Chicago, Norman, Boston, and now L.A. all in high profile games. Florida could take a bus to most of their games.

According to Sagarin's SoS rankings, of all the teams currently in the BCS top 25, only Stanford's and Oregon State's schedules have been harder than Florida's. IIRC, the other computer models are in general agreement as well.

Florida played a hard schedule, but are the least impressive 10-1 team I have ever seen.

A blocked punt return with two seconds left to beat UL-Lafayette? Being tied with Bowling Green in the 3rd quarter in the The Swamp? Getting shut out by Missouri for a half? Scoring 14 points against Missouri? Scoring 16 points against Jacksonville State? Who the hell is Jacksonville State?

They also have three wins over teams currently ranked in the Top 12 of the BCS. No one else can say that (and who are we to talk about close wins?)

They're offense is pathetic, and they can be rightfully knocked for being such a one-sided team. But you can't take anything away from their schedule.

SEC circular logic.

ND has two over the top 13 and three over the top 19. And zero losses.

If Florida beats FSU, I'll give them credit. They are just spectacularly unimpressive.

I agree with you on South Carolina. But I think LSU is rather legit, and A&M is capable of beating anyone. Certainly comparable to our two best wins. They've also still got to play FSU. It's a pretty tough schedule.
Florida's not always been impressive in victory. But they're hardly alone in that.

The LSU with a last minute win over Ole Miss?

yeah just before this weekend I thought they had turned a corner. But honestly I think that LSU is better than Bama now. Their offense seems to have improved a great deal and Ole Miss is vastly improved since the Texas game, I think. We will find out when they play MSST this weekend.

But the SEC is much weaker this year than in previous year that much is certain.

This much is true. The Irish have played a very respectable schedule. They have the #1 scoring defense in the country. Also rank among the leaders in other defensive categories. The offense is improved as the season has progressed. They looked downright scary against Wake. Oh and they also have a Heisman frontrunner on defense, which rarely happens, if ever. Not too shabby. If this was a SEC team the experts would claim it to be one of the best ever.
