ND's screwed. Who are these teams ('Bama, K-State, Oregon) gonna lose to? Georgia? Stanford? K-State's done, they've got no one left. Damn.

K State could lose in the BIG 12 Championship game.

It's going to take a whole team getting the flu for us to be in the NCG. Too bad college football has the worst postseason. This season will be meaningless effort if we go 13-0 with nothing to show for it.

Our chances:

Alabama- Johnny Football and Chizik trying to save his job
K State- I don't see them losing unless Klein is hurt bad
Oregon- Need help from Stanford, Oregon St isn't that great

So tired of people licking Bamas nuts for playing nothing but Michigan and LSU for two straight years...

Oregon still has Stanford and Oregon State. Also USC again in the CCG.

Auburn has no chance to upset Alabama. None.

Oregon State's not that good. Stanford's got a good defense but there's no way they can keep up with the Ducks. USC can score with them, but I can't see them winning in Autzen.

I can't believe that all of this Te'o magic, the Stanford goal line stop, the Oklahoma game, the month without giving up a touchdown, will just end up in a consolation prize because old guys want to collude to keep mid-majors from beating big schools. This season will be forgotten in 4 years because college football has a horrible way of deciding champions. No bragging rights, no crystal ball, no recognition, nothing. The fact that a playoff starts in 2 years makes it even worse. I feel awful for Te'o and the team with their hardwork not getting paid off at all. This will honestly hurt more than another 8-5 year.

Phrase of the week: "Gig Em"

The tree, OSU, UT, and Johnny Football are still in play.

Sometimes $#!+ happens. The odds are against us, but....
Oregon will finally play a team with a defense in Stanford, have an in-state rivalry game, and then an improved USC. K State will play two schizo teams that can score in TCU and Baylor, and an underacheiving Texas. Bama has the easiest road with Johnny Football and likely another schizo team UGA. Not saying any of the 3 will lose, but we've all seen the better teams lose. Hell, we almost lost to a 4-4 team tonight. I still have hope.

I have a better shot at a threesome with Kate Upton and Sara Underwood.

I would feel awful for Te'o and Co. as well but an undefeated season, with or without a NC, could help build our program in the form of confidence, recruiting, and maybe even a chip on the shoulders of our returning players. This will only lead to good things.

A&M could beat Bama next week. Emotional letdown for the Tide? Big game from Johnny Football if that's going to happen.

I think there was a thread a few months back where the majority would rather have BCS win than a loss in the NC. Wonder if people still think the same.

So true. This is the first good team they've played all year and they should've lost. The SEC is so overrated this year to begin with and Alabama has one of the weakest schedules I've seen in recent memory for a team that is "consensus" #1.

wtf...hell, we should just not finish out the year...call it quits, work on our grades and get some of these guys ready to bolt for the nfl since this season was such a waste...to quote the rudy move "stop wastin my time"...

I'm actually happy that Alabama won. At first, I was pretty bitter that LSU blew it, but LSU would end up jumping up us if they won tonight and the rest of their games. Next week is the week Alabama needs to lose. Texas A&M is a pretty damn good team. They pushed LSU to a 24-19 final (granted, it was 24-12 with a little over a minute left to go). Their defense isn't the greatest, but with a potent offense like their's, who knows what can happen. If they can protect the football, anything can happen.

ND will get jumped by Oregon tomorrow. There's just no question about it. I'm happy as hell for our win today, but we need people to lose. Winning isn't going to cut it, in terms of getting to the NC.

Heck, I want ND to remain BCS #3 come tomorrow, but realistically... Sorry,it is what it is.

I never said that we couldn't fall to #4, but your comments about us falling behind a 1-loss Lsu team was dumb as hell. We are a tight group of guys here, and I suggest you read the board more before writing a bunch of absurd comments.

Keep in mind that although ND should have beat Pitt easily on paper, this win does count for a lot. ND came back and pulled this game out after being down big. They showed mental toughness. I don't know how that will translate, but for the human voter it might be more impressive than winning a track meet game against USC where they score 51 on your defense.

I don't know how it will go, I'm just offering up a counter argument to the one that thinks ND played it's way out of contention because of a close game.

I'm sticking with my frame of mind I've had the whole time: this changes nothing. Look voters **** all over themselves for the SEC and high octane offenses. So regardless of how much we beat Pitt by we were going to get jumped by Oregon if they won. So everyone held serve, though 'Bama should have lost (if I ever seen Les Miles remind me to kick him in the nuts), so nothing changes. We're still likely going to need two of the three other unbeatens to drop a game. Sadly with the current system, the goal of the NCG has less to do with us (as long as we win) and more to do with Alabama, Oregon, and KSU.

I just can't see us losing to anyone in the top 4. The only tough game would be Bama, KSU and Oregon have yet to face a real defence. Chip Kelly's USC game philosophy was to be the first car to the finish line. Nothing about defence.
