Then what was the fucking point of a minimum number of games?

Just call it the OSU owns us all conference and be done with it

Money might have something to do with the 6 million dollars that the Conference gets if pOSU makes it into the playoff.

No I get that. That’s driving this whole thing. But why act like this is about fairness when it’s really that they each want a fucking payday and a free ride off OSU.

Yup. Indiana earned a chance to go to the championship, even if they had lower chances of winning without their QB. Hoosiers haven't won a conference championship since 1967 and haven't won it outright since 1945. Ohio State goes just about every year to the game. Rich get richer, it's a shame really. It's an obvious selfish move on the conference's part and OSU, feel bad for the Hoosiers.

I guess if only IU and OSU played a game to decide who will go. Oh wait they did. Sucks for IU but they had their shot. OSU shouldn't be punished for the BIGs stupidity.

There are arguments to boths sides. Per the rules, IU deserves it. IU didn't set the rules. Per the eye, OSU deserves it. But not by much. Yes a head to head W, but a one score W and in OSU. It's not clear cut. If OSU jacked them by 20+, or even beat them by 7 in Bloomington, I'd agree with you.

Every year they complain about our independence. Nothing stopping them from being independent. Let that conference be a chain around their neck. They've earned it.

OSU has played 5 games, hardly enough to be considered a conference champion, much less a playoff contender. It was obvious from the start that the B1G was going to get on their knees for their money maker, but that doesn't change the fact that IU followed the rules and they're getting snubbed at a chance to go to the dance. Again, OSU goes to this thing pretty much every year, IU hasn't won it in 70 years. OSU would be just fine if they didn't an invite this year, but the conference obviously didn't want to piss off their golden goose. They also wanted to enhance the perception that Ohio State deserves to go to the playoff by granting them an additional game.

We all knew conferences cater to certain programs. However, everything the B1G has done this season is over the top to do so, and hasn’t even tried to hide it. I doubt Northwestern can beat OSU, but I get the feeling that if this game is close, the refs are going to be good to help OSU.

All signs point to Chris Olave as the starting offensive player.

That would hurt. He's one of their dynamic duo, and they have very small production from WR after that.

OSU losing to NW would be glorious.

Does anybody else think this helps OSU? OSU will still probably win, and then they can say they were conference champions with a weakened team.

I would have to go back and look at the protocols, but didn't the B1G require two weeks for positives AND for contact tracing? Two weeks from today is the day before the CFP semi-finals...

Sounds like there is some uncertainty as to whether pOSU players that test positive have to follow the Big Ten COVID protocols (which require 21 day absence from the team) beyond the Big Ten Championship game.

Nope. They'll be expected to trounce NW with or without their #2 WR. Don't get me wrong, NW is a good team, but they're not near a tier 1 team. I still think OSU will dominate as well.

OSU with covid issues again.

Hmmm...they hoping that they're getting into the playoff regardless, or are the cases legit? That's the question. Also, how can these B1G programs be fucking up protocols and getting Covid worse than the teams that played twice as many games and set the protocol to follow to keep it mostly contained? Suspicious, makes me think Ohio State sees their position in the CFP and expects they're in regardless of who wins the ACC.

If they have to cancel, I pray to God they don't let them in the playoffs. That would be an embarrassment.

Exactly. They are going to be conference champions with a "partial" team due to Covid. The committee can feel better about putting them in with 7 wins because we haven't seen a full strength OSU in over a month or some shit.

Back in the B1G, where he probably belongs.
