Miller’s father, Kevin, said Meyer sees Braxton Miller as a versatile and explosive player in the mold of former Florida star Percy Harvin.

hasn't been cleared to play quarterback. Has trouble throwing. Apparently has no zip on the ball anymore.

I kind of disagree. While he might have made it in the NFL as a QB, he wasn't going to be great in the NFL as a QB. He could be a great WR in the NFL. To me he is a back-up QB in the NFL, and a mid round pick as a QB, but as a WR he could be a 2nd round pick and has the chance to be very good to great.

No, I doubt he would have been a great NFL QB, but probably could have been a serviceable backup at best. I'm not sure he can reach the 2nd round as a WR. A lot of WRs come out of college and don't do the little things great like route running. A lot of them have relied on their speed to carry them. I think it'll take Braxton more than a season to hone himself at WR, I'm thinking 4th round or later at this point.

So pOSU and Sparty will be the class of the league again this year. Who do you think will be in the next their as good, maybe do some damage, but ultimately playing for the best mid tier bowl they can find?

Wisky, same as always. Maybe Fichigan unfucks themselves long enough to fill that role.

Apparently the reason is because he didn't let the coaches know. Sparty had another kid there that told the coaches and he had no problem.

Elimination Of Guarantee Games Increases Likelihood Of NCAA Breakup (from Forbes, Feb 2013)

If other conferences follow the Big Ten’s lead and stop scheduling games against FCS opponents, the institutions that compete at that level will have two options: 1) look to make up the funds elsewhere, or 2) essentially be forced to stop competing at the same level as the larger institutions. Because it is unrealistic to believe that any institution can begin to make up the difference in loss of football guarantee revenue by playing any number of additional such games in basketball, it is more likely that the second option will occur. With the loss of revenue, the gap between school’s in BCS conferences and those who are not will continue to grow ever wider, leading to what may be the eventual breakup of the approximately 340 school’s that compete at the NCAA Division I level.

Northwestern is about the last team in the country that should be unionizing to recoup money that they are earning the University. The program isn't a cash cow, nobody buys their gear and TR&B is as expensive as it gets.

This is the definition of socialism. An under performing entity wants its share of the producers. (UM, OSU, PSU football and the other profitable B1G programs that would still be profitable without collective TV / Bowl / Hoops broadcast contract share)

In the end, they should charge the NW players to make up the difference of what they receive off the coat tails of the B1G earners.

How do you go 12-1 or 11-2 without a QB?

I don't think there is anyway that Michigan goes 12-1 or 11-2 first of all. I think anywhere from 7-9 wins is a realistic expectation. They will definitely be better than 5-7, and Jim Harbaugh is a damn good coach whether people like him or not or want to admit that or not.

But Michigan does have a QB.

Jake Rudock is the QB. And he's pretty solid. The guy is a 5th year senior who has started in 25 B1G games in his career. Last year at Iowa he threw for 2,400+ yards while completing 62% of his passes for 16 TD's against only 5 INT's in a pro-style offense. I believe he lead the entire B1G in passing efficiency. Michigan would've killed for a QB to put up those kind of numbers last year. Harbaugh knows how to coach QB's. Very well. He's going to get the best out of Rudock, and Rudock is smart with the football, he has a lot of game experience and he doesn't turn the ball over and he's an accurate passer.

If he was so good why did Iowa let him walk, to another BIG team? And everything I have read so far has indicated Morris is the leader.

If he's a 5th year senior, he presumably graduated. With a degree in hand, there's not a damn thing Iowa could have done about it. I'm sure they would have loved to have him back.

you're reading the wrong info. Morris is finished. He'll be the back-up and next year after Rudock is gone, O'Korn and Zach Gentry will battle it out to be the starter.

Rudock graduated, they didn't really have much of a choice, he could leave if he wanted. He was upset with how Ferentz handled the QB situation with the bowl game, and then he listed the other kid as the starter on a depth chart in January. Kirk Ferentz hasn't exactly been making sound coaching decisions lately. Talk about a guy whose coaching career is in free fall. At one time he was the hottest NFL coaching commodity in the college game. Now I doubt he could get an NFL coaching gig if he offered to pay an NFL team to let him coach.

Yeah, we had a coach once that was a QB guru. He was big and talked his way into a bigger contract that we're still paying. He didn't do a great job with the OL though, and some years those great QBs were running for their lives. Michigan certainly needs some help on the OL too.
